USB file transfer not working on windows8.1, anyone got the USB drivers for redmi7? - Xiaomi Redmi 7 Questions & Answers

On the stock ROM, for some reason the device isnt recognized when I connect it to the pc with the USB cable, tried to install mostly all the drivers I could find from google but its still not working, the device shows up as SDM632-MTP_SNsome numbers) on device manager, tried it on another OS (win10/7), worked on both but I use win8.1 as its the only OS that works well with my laptop.Anyone got any drivers or solution to fixing this.

Win7 x64 and recovery (no connection to phone)

Hey folks,
been searching and searching without any luck so far, trying to find a solution to my phone not being reconzied if i put it in recovery (volD+boot, back+power), windows sees it fine if i open the phone normally and connect it to the pc.. and i can use the ADB shell to detect it
# ../../..: adb devices
but no adb connection if the phone is in volD+power or back+Power.
sometimes Windows detects the Android 1.0 in Device manager but i wont find the drivers no matter what kind/version i fetch off the interwebz and no matter where i put it. i worked once and now the connection is just broken...
i have gotten sick and tired of the fact that i cannot get paid APPS and that the phone is filled after like 10 APP installs so i decided to root specially cause there now was a fix for the brick ...
but it seems like im pretty stuck .. neither of the 2 Rooting methods work cause of the lacking connection.... barghh...
I hope my english is not to horrible for you to read...
Kind Regards

HELP
Hi!!! i have this problem!!! Help we please!!!
I want use usb connection for tether, but driver not found or error connection.
Also got this issue, one week that I'm trying EVERYTHING
The device is well recognized by windows but the adb can't find it (it says no device found)...
Thanks a lot for the help!
Noob question. .. did u installed htc sync? It contain USB driver 4 Windows. ..
Yeah. I have installed HTC sync and the drivers, and i have downloaded the exctracted drivers and tried to point android 1. 0 to Them, but all w7 does is tell me that it did not find any drivers for the device.
Install the leatest HTC Sync....
Boot the Phone normally and activate USB-Debugging.
Wait for Windows this installed the driver....
boot your phone into recovery and now you have driver...
Worked for me
Windos 7 Ultimate x64
Do not plug your phone on any kinds of USB HUBS, USB Extender cabels, Front PC USB ports, or any kind of strange PC cards with USB ports.
Also use only original HTC cabel which you got with your phone.
Plug your phone in first USB port on the motherboard closes to the mouse and keyboard.
My phone wasnt recognized by ADB while it was conected to front USB ports, but other things where working fine (Sd card browsing and copying)
Try and report back if it helps.
I plugged it with the OEM HTC cable, also installed the latest HTC Sync, with both latest HTC and Android SDK x64 drivers, it just doesn't work..
On win 7 64 too.
Motherboard asus p5k,my device is working only with the rear usb port.
Must be a question of usb amperage...
Works fine for me, W7 x64 Ultimate, but I only use Windows to get into recovery - linux to root the phone initially

Problem with usb connection to laptop

I'm having usb errors from my laptop and it is being caused by my evo. I can connect it just fine and use it as a disk drive if needed but my windows 7 (64 bit) keeps saying that the usb device is not recognized. I tried disabling and enabling it. It's definitely the phone. Is there a special driver for android I need to install to my laptop? Any other suggestions if not?
Try deleting all the drivers and installing again. That should do the trick. Make sure you have adb drivers installed.
I downloaded the android sdk and sdk manager. Online it says there should be usb drivers but mine doesn't have the drivers. I installed all the packages and there is nothing for usb drivers. Can you or someone send me those drivers or give me a link to where i can get them for the evo? I keep getting usb errors.
Have you tried installing HTC Sync?
No I haven't. I looked it up and it syncs outlook etc. What will that do? I installed the drivers and adb and the computer still gives usb errors. It says the device connected has malfunctioned when it isn't plugged in. It's driving me nuts.
I'm pretty sure that HTC Sync installs USB drivers to help facilitate the various syncing things it does. At worst it won't make any difference, at best it might solve the problem. Can't really see a reason to not try it.
I tried it. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still getting usb errors. Any other suggestions? When I unplug my laptop sometimes i get the blue screen because of a problem with a bugcode usb driver.
I'm having a similar problem but my phone wont even with Vista on my laptop. I have downloaded HTC sync, and Android SDK, did a combo of USB settings in phone and still no luck. All my phone does it charge..how can i get it to disk?

Doesn't matter what version of Windows you're running, go to device mangler, and uninstall ALL of your USB drivers while online. Re-boot, and it should re-install the correct drivers from the internet. My USB drivers were dated 2006, before I did this! And that was in Windows 7!

Unable to connect phone to pc via usb

Hi,
I have rooted my phone with rootbox rom and i cannot seem to connect to pc using usb cable,I have tried everything (replacing cable, installed another rom liquidsmooth, updating drivers, troubleshooting with kies) nothing seems to work no matter what i do the windows still shows mtp driver installation failed.I would be very thankful if someone could help me out here,..Oh yeah and i am able to connect it to pc from recovery by mounting usb storage but not in normal mode
I had this issue with 3 different phones of my own. I ultimately had to remove the Samsung drivers and reinstall them. Do a google search for captivate drivers, you should find an xda post on this somewhere.

[Q] Craziest thing: can't get USB drivers to install in recovery or booted OS mode

I've been eager to try Scott Crosler's new CM11 but didn't have time until tonight. To ensure cleanliness, at the bootloader I erased cache, system and userdata. I've flashed ROMs dozens of times, and as usual, there were no problems with fastboot recognizing the device.
I then entered CWM, and it was the darndest thing: three fast USB connection beeps and this error:
"Windows could not install driver software for your device."
But I've had the generic USB drivers installed for two years! At first I thought it was interference from the Samsung drivers when reflashing my wife's tablet, but I tried our two laptops, same result. No matter that I right-clicked "Nexus 7" in Device Manager and pointed it to freshly downloaded drivers, even that I tried installing drivers using the SDK Manager,
"Windows could not install driver software for your device."
I've read that turning off USB debugging helps, but um, with an erased /system, I had nothing to boot into!
Normally I prefer flashing via ADB sideload. To get up and running again, I flashed TWRP and used its feature of mounting USB-OTG and flashing from an external drive. Once I got into CM11, I turned on and off USB debugging, but I still can't install the USB drivers, and ADB can't recognize any devices. At least there's flashing via external flash drives.
Has anyone had the like?
didn't see win 8.1 mentioned but thought this may help? http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013/general/windows-8-1-users-careful-t2856908. I have had problems with drivers in past. adb composite are the ones that work for me. I simply removed drivers under android devices in device manager then plugged in device. GL.
Windows 7 here, but thanks for the suggestion anyway.
This morning I can connect it as a media device, and it's in Device Manager just fine as "Nexus 7." But turning that off, it becomes "flo" in Device Manager and can't find the updated drivers. And either way, I still can't get it recognized while in recovery mode. Ah well, as I said, at least TWRP has the option to mount USB OTB and flash files from an external drive.
Let me add that I already tried another cable (for our Samsung tablet), and tonight I see that I can connect it in MTP mode. In MTP mode, it shows up just fine in Device Manager (under Portable Devices), but turning off MTP throws it under Other Devices with the dreaded ! (and I just can't get it to install the driver no matter where I point it to). And no matter what combination I try, I still can't get ADB to recognize it at all.
Although this is for Windows 8.1 it may apply to your situation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013/general/windows-8-1-users-careful-t2856908
As I e-mailed you, sfetaz's suggestion of USBDeview is part of the solution! I still can't get it recognized in booted Android as anything but a media device, but now it's fine during recovery. Darndest thing I ever saw in 19 years of dealing with Windows drivers.

Then in an old bookmark, I tried Koush's universal ADB drivers.

Even if USBDeview hadn't helped, it was still good to clear out all the old devices I no longer use. Definitely a handy utility to keep around and recommend.

Usb drivers issue: unable to update drivers

I am unable to connect Samsung a50 to my pc i tried installing latest drivers, smart switch, tried to manually install the drivers but no luck, is there an issue my my cable? Its an original cable also i noticed that my phone is charging at 1250 approx mah when i checked on Amphere app, shouldn't it be around 16-1700? Does that mean my cable is faulty?
On Windows 10, you don't need drivers to access the files on the device as the phone is detected as a media device. The generic Minimal ADB drivers work fine for accessing adb whereas Odin too worked fine for me out of the box.
Smart Switch is an extremely outdated piece of software, so not sure why you are trying to use that. On the whole, I don't think you need to install any drivers for the A50.
It was not picking up my device thats why i tried smart switch but i guess the problem is with my cable
