I am using US Mobile mvno which is on T mobile, LTE bands seem to work. Waiting to root it (1week waiting for unlock) to confirm with LTE band app.

It's been a long time since you posted this message so I think I will have my answer
I bought an International RN8 for its 700MHz (B28) band.
Unfortunately, when I received it, I thought it wasn't working.
So I installed NetMonster, and it was indeed using 1800 or 2600 4G / LTE.
Did it worked for you ? Have you ever been modifying your phone to get it working ?
I'm trying to enable this band by editing the firmware with QXDM, but it didn't work, I can't get 700MHz and CA to work.
I hope I'll get a good answer.

My phone works fine in LTE bands 2 and 4, so yes. No modifications were needed.

B28 is still missing, tho I'm sure that I have international variant...
What is your carrier who uses B28?

HELLO, I'm at free too, there's only the redmi niote 7 which has the b28, the note 8 / 8t don't have it.

Well, yes, but actually no.
There is an international variant of the Redmi Note 8 which *should* have B28.
You can check on its page (locale Singapour), you'll see that it has B28 - because the model which is being sold here is the International one.
As far as I know there's no ROM for this phone, like, out of the factory it'll have this band enabled, but this firmware is not public (yet?) - but I might be wrong on this point tho.
So my reseller probably installed a global ROM on it which overwritten its modem's firmware. (This is very common on Xiaomi phones)
(Also check on Kimovil for RN8 International variant, and other sites as well, it has B28. Xiaomi itself confirmed me that.)

Il me semble que lorsque le téléphone est originellement installé, il a le firmware adapté, avec la bande activée, firmware qui n'est pas public (pour le moment ?) - mais je me trompe sûrement.
Donc mon revendeur a probablement installé une ROM globale qui a changé son firmware modem. (C'est très commun sur les téléphones Xiaomi)
(Tu peux aussi vérifier sur Kimovil pour le RN8 variante Internationale, ainsi que sur d'autres sites, il a la B28. Ca m'a également été confirmé par Xiaomi eux-mêmes.)

Yes, it is only software-related.
No, flashing a Global rom won't help. It has only the bands enabled for the global variant, which does not have B28.

Hello,
I am in the same situation, I have bought an international version for having the B28 band but I can't check if it is working or not.
Now I have flashed Havoc-Os 3.6 ROM and I can't figure out how to check / enable B28 band.
In NetMonster, I only see 1800 and 2100 band, no 700Mhz but I am not sure if this is the frequency of the nearby antenna or the compatibility of my device.

I also flashed bezke's Havoc OS (but this doesn't matter).
You can check the bands enabled using Network Signal Guru (root) by going into the three dots menu, Lock bands, LTE then you'll see all enabled bands for LTE.
What variant do you have btw ?

Yeah, 8T is made for Europe (with B28).
Note 8 doesn't have it *out of the box*, it's just disabled.

Nope, it's just Xiaomi being Xiaomi and intentionally locking bands.
Also, my variant (International) DOES support the band.

Phone can't be, updating if you don't have a working account with them and a working number. That means a simcard from att and connected to the att network.
So it's impossible to get the ota's outside the USA.
You can update manually with Odin but if your phone is not with the original software, efs, etc. You may brick your phone.
I have the same exact phone with the same exact software. Today I've checked for software update with AT&T sim card in the phone and it came back saying it is current.
So, the question remains.
Also, chatting with Samsung support a week ago I was told to go to BestBuy and let them flash the latest everything. (doesn't apply to the OP)

The reason you bricked your phone is because you switched between xiaomi roms without knowing the firmware version of the respective roms. Meaning you've probably tried going back from V.4 to V.3.
There is an article summarizing everything about your particular problem. Long story short, here is what you can do:
1. You need an autherized xiaomi account (search on 4pda(some russian forum) or here for autherized accounts). They need a special autherization, so an account with the permission of unlocking a bootloader IS NOT ENOUGH!
2. Go to a xiaomi store. If you've bricked your device because of that it should get replaced because of warranty. According to your first statement, describing how you struggle with EDL mode, you have to watch out for some in spain.
3. Send it back from where you've bought it. For example you can buy the redmi note 5 pro on amazon with 24 months of warranty. The problem you have is a perfect example why you need some sort of warranty.

well tahts coz of your location, 4.5 maybe not available in all places in the country, as you said, 4g is slow where you live, because its a weak signal where you are

Hello, ive just bought the Huawei Matepad Pro (MRX-W09) and im trying for almost two weeks to get a firmware to get GSM working on my device. Unfortunately i cant download any older firmware anywhere and after looking for solutions ive stumbled upon people telling me that the firmware servers are closed or being moved.
Does any of you have a firmware version on which GSM works? As far as i know it should be 10.0.1.150 or older (April 2020).
