9.1.0.346 destroy speaker again - Huawei Mate 20 X Questions & Answers

After Patch03 we get such great speaker but with the new 9.1.0.346 C432 (maybe 347 for C636) update it's bad again.
Is there any way to go back?

For me is the same as 320,no Problems at all,for Infomation i make a Factory Reset after 346 Update.

What you mean with it is the same? It's like you change the speaker!

Dont know what they did with this update.
Bad speakers, apps randomly closes, battery drain, and it feels everyrhing is slow.
Hope patch coming asap.

Hmm... 9.1.0.347 (C636) is doing just as fine as the previous 9.1.0.320 for my including the speaker!

Can you explain how you did it?
Maybe in EMUI 10 the great speaker will be back?!

I put 320 firmware to sdcard, this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ldrX2lBqgnphaPKhSu6FfbNZ3LpBvGej/view?usp=sharing
Its 3 files you put to sd.
Then in the home screen dialer, enter *#*#2846579#*#* -> ProjectMenu -> Software Upgrade -> Memory card Upgrade -> OK.
It verifies and reboot, and installing 320 firmware.
But anyways, im back to 346, no force closing apps or lag anymore but the sound is still bad, patch is coming hope it not take to long.

Sound is still bad with EMUI 10 Stable and Android 10

With 9.1.0.320 (C432E3R1P12patch03) update we get so much better speaker and with 9.1.0.346 and now 10.0.0.180 they are trash compare to 320 update.
I don't know how but they are almost on Tab S52/S6 level with 320 (patch03) update. Sound is much richer, bass and 30% volume is already loud, like you change the hardware.

What exactly is the problem? Please describe... I'm holding back the update, as I read sound degraded massively... like, only half of the speaker volume?
thx
Edit: ah, didn't see prior post. It describes what I read somewhere else.
Is audio through BT or headphones affected?

I don't know, never use Mate 20X with audio over Bluetooth.
I also ask Huawei but like always the support is useless.

You have to use Hisuite windows to downgrade te 9.0 (click update and previous version twice) to see if the problem solves and post.

[MOD] [lux] Disable ascending ringtone

Annoyed by the fact that motorola is still proposing in each new device this irritating ascending ringtone I tryed to look into the system and found a fix
It seems to work for me, but let me know if it's ok in all your different scenarios and devices :good:
What's needed:
- TWRP recovery
Instructions:

Tested this fix on my Canadian (XT1563) Moto X Play on Koodo, and it works for the most part.
The volume for ringtones, alarms and notification begins much louder than they initially did before applying the fix, but it still seems to start off at a lower volume and ascend to the set volume level. However, this fix does actually make the initial volume clearly audible nonetheless so I will say, it could use some tweaking but is still, overall, a working fix. Thanks.
EDIT: To give more detailed feedback, I looked into the files and noticed the stock starts attenuating at 36 and moves through each of the 16 levels while gradually attenuating less and less at certain steps. The fix attenuates 0 across all 16 steps. However it sounds like it is still attenuating at approximately 3 or 4 at the first few steps then moves to 0 attenuation. Not sure why as the file clearly shows 0 attenuation across all 16 steps. Maybe it's just my ears not hearing it properly, or maybe it's the ringtone itself that has additional attenuation. I'm using the "Hangouts Call" ringtone.

[MOD] Enable dual speakers mod for huawei g8 v1

Hey all,
a week ago I made a thread about enabling dual speakers on our device ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/gx8/how-to/enable-dual-speakers-huaweig8-gx8-t3579204 ) but now I made a flashable zip so it could be easy to flash it rather than copy and paste a file, all you need is flashing this zip file from the recovery (CHECK THE ATTACHMENTS) ....... HAVE FUN!!
V1
- Improvements to the sound of the speakers and makes it louder.
- Improvements to the sound of the headphones.
Notes : - Do not worry if it takes from 5-7 mins on booting cause there is a wiping to the dalvik/cache ... just leave your mobile and go get an apple then come back xD .
- Only tested on android 7.x.x roms so I don't know if it may work on android 6 roms or not .

Bro it enables the dual speakers to work together in listening to songs like the idea of htc 10 the headset one with the bottom one just with some increases in the sound of both speakers and also for the headphones .
Good job, is it possible to activate upper speaker? With Aex V4 only the ones from below

speaker problem after Oreo update.

I am facing a weired speaker problem after updating to soak test Oreo. It rattles when the volume is above 80% . I did tried it hardway. Replace the speaker with a similar speaker ( got from an old lumia 520) .. then the rattling got little less.. but its still there.. very noticeable on YouTube playback..
Btw.. i think its an os problem.. because my brand new pixel 2 xl had it when it was on android Oreo. But now its almost gone after pie update.
There was no such issue ( even with old speaker) when it was in android 7
Is it only me or if you all guys have it??
Please give feedbacks.
Try it after installing v4a, adjust the settings until you achieve a minimal amount of rattle.

No Dark Theme for Mate 20 (non-pro) (EMUI 9) (Sorta Solved)

EDIT: I made a simple dark theme for the mate 20 and EMUI 9 and you can check it out and help fix the bugs here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...pro-huawei-t3868805/post78197158#post78197158
---
Hey guys,
So I got the Mate 20 (non-pro) and it's been great. Only thing that's really annoying about it compared to the pro is that Huawei removes the option to "Darken Interface Colors" on their non-pro phones.
Which basically means that I'm unable to use a dark theme, since all of the EMUI 9 themes in the themes store do not alter the notification shade or settings or any other system apps.
I tried downloading a lot of dark EMUI 8 themes but they all have issue with black on black text.
Can anyone tell me how to get a dark theme for my Mate 20?
Thank you!
Settings-Battery-darken interface
I don't have that option either, using latest updates. Best suggestion I have is to use a 3rd party launcher like nova and use its dark theme, which themes the launcher but not the notifications and settings screens.

This option is nit available in Mate 20.
Only available on mate 20 pro as it had oled screen. Mate 20 had LCD screen so dark mode is not necessary.
Can I ask, on your mate 20 does the earpiece act as a second stereo tweeter speaker in landscape mode or is there only one speaker on the mate 20?

The mate 20 plays audio from both the earpiece and the speaker, sounds great IMO.
And if you're charging the main speaker doesn't get blocked (with the mate 20 pro the speaker is inside the usb-c port)

They dont know how to use Huawei phones. When 'stereo+' enabled in sound settings, u have to tilt your phone to landscape/horizontally to get the stereo effects. Make sense, when vertically, it just use mono bottom speaker.

HELP! Huawei just rolled out the EMUI 9.1 update. Now I am unable to read the User Experience Improvement Programme after the update, and I cannot move into the OS home screen, settings, there's no home button at all.

Battery seems fine to me, similar to Android 9 so far. But it's too early to make any conclusion, we'll have to wait a few days of use to see how it goes.

Got the OTA update about two days ago, and it basically killed my WiFi and Bluetooth radios. They work, sort of, but my main router WiFi cannot connect, and Bluetooth audio skips for no real reason. I even did a factory reset to try and correct this with the OTA update file out there, but essentially it didn't fix my issue, and now I'm pretty upset that I did that.
Anyone know how I can downgrade back to Pie so I can at least connect to WiFi and get all my apps back quickly?
Upgraded. No real issues at all. Slightly decreased battery life for first two days then fine. All my hardware and software work 100% no problems.
I connect to multiple Bluetooth device regularly in the car and on bicycle rides. No issues with Garmin. No issues with anything.
