Samsing pass temporarily unavailable after flash, knox not tripped - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Like the title says. I flashed upgraded firmware to get att calling abilities and since doing so I cant use samsung pass. I can use Samsung pay just fine and when I check warranty void on download screen it says 0x0. Anybody have any idea of what's going on or how to fix?

Are you logged in Samsung account? Or maybe uninstall updates for it, as it is a system app you need to show in apps settings, and let download again.

[Q] Question surrounding restoring factory and downloading official 4.3 update - KNOX

Hello!
Hope all is well. First I wanted to say i'm sorry if this is a duplicate - I searched and saw similar questions, but not exactly the same as mine .
I own a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 M919 and I had rooted it and installed a custom rom. Im having hardware problems and need to return it for repairs, so I reflashed the stock system and recovery, used triangle away to remove the binary counter, and hard reset the phone. In my download mode, my phones reads "Current Binary: Samsung Official" and "System Status: Official", as well as reads official on the device status in android so all went well.
My question is this - I got notification of a push update that is going to install Android 4.3, and apparently this "KNOX" software that I do no seem to currently have. My concern with this is that i'm reading that there is a flag with this KNOX software that is easily tripped, and once done, the download mode reads "KNOX WARRANTY VOID 0x1", which therefore voids warranties. Since I was able to get everything back to completely normal, I dont want to run any more risks since my phone really needs repairs very badly. Should I bypass this update? Though my phone is 100% official now, if I do the update, will the KNOX software catch that I had rooted/custom rom'd the phone in the past and trigger the flag automatically, or do you first have to have the update installed BEFORE you try to root it for the flag to trip? Everything is 100% stock now so when I download the update, I don't think there is anything present that would trigger anything, but I don't even have this "KNOX WARRANTY VOID" line in my download mode yet so I am wondering if I am just better off being safe than sorry?
Thanks!
It won't be tripped until you trip it so you will be OK if you update it to 4.3, But I highly advice against doing so.. Just leave it as is, and return it like that

If you are having hardware issues and are returning the phone and
your phone is 100% stock without KNOX right now then why in
the world would you want to take chances with OTA updates or
any other updates.
If it was me I would have already taken/shipped the phone back for
repair or exchange instead of worrying about OTA updates.
Good luck!
Thanks for the advice! Download mode would be the only location of that "KNOX WARRANTY VOID" flag right? If it's not there, then as long as it states both Samsung Official and Official in download mode I should be good ya think?
Thanks!
Yes.. It will also show a message at boot

Awesome yep - no boot message I see either - boots just like it did the day I bought it. So I am pretty sure I have the firmware before KNOX came out - It has been rooted since the summer so I probably luckily bypassed the official update with KNOX
Thanks to all for your information! Im gonna stay away from the new firmware just to be safe until i get the phone back from warranty!
Hmm - things got even more interesting. So it seems when i reset everything back to stock as mentioned above, the screen flickering issues have now gone away and I am not seeming to replicate them in any way at all. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I was using a version of Wanamlite ROM before i reset everything. I am wondering if it was just the ROM causing the screen flicker and not a hardware defect.

Secure Folder, Samsung Pass and Pay for Knox-Tripped Device

I'd love to hear if any developer here would modify a kernel or make a custom ROM that makes Knox apps to work (at least Secure Folder and Samsung Pass). Thanks in advance!
Samsung account login failed with "processing failed" after rooting

Root = knox tripped!
Your guarantee is now void.
There is no other way for this phone, sadly.

Root galaxy S9 question

Hi, can anyone tell me this, if root my device my Knox is tripped, later if i install a original rom can i have access again to security folder and Samsung pay etc.. again? or i dont have access anymore with original rom whith knox tripped.
Can anyone help me plz
Once you trip knox you're screwed with those apps.
IIRC now don't quote me on this, but Magisk from what I know allows the user to hide the fact that their device is rooted so that apps like GooglePay still work without detecting that the device has been modified. Not sure if it's the same with Samsung exclusive apps but I wouldn't risk it. If you use those features regularly I don't recommend it. But perhaps someone else might know more about this.

Unfortunately you can't do anything. Samsung devices come with a built in security feature called the Knox warranty bit. It's a one-time programmable Efuse that is able to detect if a custom operating system has ever been installed. High Security applications such as Samsung Health, Samsung Pay, Samsung Pass and Secure Folder are permanently disabled. In select locations the Warranty bit is also used to deny warranty service. The best course of action would be to contact the seller and request a replacement device with the warranty bit in tact. Or refund
Edit: Netflix just isn't supported from the play store on the Tab S4 for some reason. It has nothing to do with root access.

As someone who is trying to install netflix, I'm constantly met with "not compatible."
Is there a way to actually use it again?
You could try installing the APK from here.

No Guarantees it will work.

Knoxreset.com legit ?

Hi,
after a long time using iPhone i switched to Android (Note 10+ Exy.
I considered to root it but dont want to loose all Samsung Apps etc. I found a Website called knoxreset.com which tells you that it can put the knox back to 0x0 and "restore" all Samsung Apps.
I tried to find some reviews about this Website but found nothing. I know that Knox now a days has something to do with the Hardware and as im a newbie, i wanted to ask you guys if this is legit or a scam ?

I would go with a scam... Tripping knox literally blows an efuse. Once it blown that's it... It is blown for good on that motherboard.
The site is misleading in what it does. The app involves rooting (or uses existing root on) the phone, installs (possibly uses if exists) a custom recovery and merely makes the trip counter looks like it wasn't tripped (it does not actually change the knox trip counter). It's a purely superficial mask and nothing more.. also if I recall correctly this is something you can do yourself.
Also the site says it doesn't effect knox, so any apps which depend on knox itself won't work.

It's easy to fake reset Knox if you are rooted which is exactly what they are doing. It will fool some apps that won't work if knox has been tripped but it won't fool Samsung and as soon as you flash back stock then it will show Knox tripped. If you want root but won't to fake knox then there are guides out there

So it is possible to root, fake knox and use for example Samsung Pass or other apps that doesnt work with a tripped knox ? Thank you for your answer!
EDIT: I cant find any updated tutorial how to fake it properly, do you have any link for me ?

No, banking apps, samsung pay, and other apps will not work, only some apps can be fooled by hiding root, just consider this before rooting, as for tripping knox, there are some cosmetic implementations that make knox look 0x0, but just for show, this can not in anyway be reversed, apps specifically looking for the e-fuse status, will never be fooled
The ONLY sure fire way known to reset KNOX is Motherboard replacement...
This will be expensive and will also change your IMEI and Serial number...
yeah it definitely looks like a scam website @scottusa2008 is definitely on the mark. once that efuse is blown, its blown.
Okay guys thank you very much for the help, ill do some more research and will probably go with the Dr. Ketan Rom

Ex developer of KNOX Reset (Disabler) application
Hi,
The application listed at KNOXReset.com cannot indeed reset the actual KNOX counter. It is also mentioned on the store page before purchasing the application now.
It has been designed to spoof the string in Odin mode and display 0x0(0) regardless of actual value. It works only on certain devices.
Also, it now includes modified S applications which work even on rooted devices.

lolol... all it does is set a property to appear as not tripped.. smh.. ppl do anything for a quick buck these days
