I have just installed it and removed my old registered fingerprint as indicated in the changelog, however now I cannot add a new one.
I keep getting: "Make sure the fingerprint sensor is clean and dry, then try again." at 41%, well done Samsung..

Same problem her!
My fingerprint sensor was working fine, now after this new update i can't register new fingerprints.
Did a factory reset to see if it solve the problem, but still the same.
My fingerprint sensor it is useless now!
Whats wrong with u samsung??

Hhahah same thing, now its not working at all

Update: I have contacted Samsung on Facebook but I did not yet receive a message from them, it seems like their support forum is also filled with complaints from users.
I got it working after a long time! After trying dozens of times, I was finally able to register my fingerprint again.
The trick is to hold your thumb straight on the scanner, just like in the picture that is shown above the scanner when adding a fingerprint.
It will take a long time (almost 5min for me), but after that it works fine even if you rotate your finger to unlock the phone.
For me personally it even works a little bit faster and it's much more accurate, it didn't miss my finger once anymore!

Mine is working now very fast and good.
I will wait till tomorrow, and see if it stays like this.
I didnt have any problem, with this update.

Here's what I have done:
1- remove all biometrics (face+fingerprints)
2- restart the device
3- register one fingerprint
everything is working perfect and it is much faster this time
(for people who get the message of clean the sensor/41% you just need to wipe it and hold well for the registration to go smooth)

After today's second November update, the accuracy of reading the fingerprint sensor when inserting new fingerprints has been significantly reduced. Either the sensor constantly warns you that your finger must cover the entire area of the sensor or prompts you to clean your finger or the glass of the display. These problems mainly concerned my right thumb when the other fingers were able to enter the cecek without major problems. The whole desperate I tried the method described here on the forum already described somewhere and within the scope of one fingerprint I alternated on the sensor and four fingers of one hand. All I was surprised to find out that I have registered a total of eight fingers at once and everything works great. Please try it, it costs nothing, just a little time. A505FNXXS3ASK9/A505FNOXM3ASK9/A505FXXS3ASK9

It's improved, but you need to be more careful with registering fingerprints. Cover the sensor fully and don't take the finger off immediately when the percentage rises.
Also don't delete all fingerprints at once. I have 3 fingerprints registered, one left hand, two right hand (same finger, for better accuracy, I'm right handed). When an update comes like this, remove one fingerprint, then readd the finger you deleted. You continue until all old fingerprints before update are deleted and you readded them all.

I've done so, but cannot add new fingerprint. Waiting for answer from Samsung service. Better before update ...
Edit: now works up to 41% ... then less percent or message: sensor must be clean & restart

Hey man, the trick is not moving your finger, just place it vertically as shown in the illustration and keep it that way..

Is Root working well after update?
just wondering if magisk is working fine without random reboots after this update?
should i flash the new firmware or stay with the old one with root working fine
thanks in advance

samsung wrote me to reset to factory settings. bad idea. everything as before.
I noticed, however, that the A50 can only read the fingerprints vertically

Really? I use my thumb horizontally and slightly tilted and it works fine.

Removing the screen protector, removing face recognition and fingerprints then changing the position of the finger when not recognized plus patience works. No trouble unlocking afterwards.

i had the same issue. so i removed my screen protector and re registered my finger print. its working fine now

Man...registering with screen protector on was VERY difficult. But once I struggled through it (I think it took me 15 minutes for 3 fingers total), it seems to be more accurate. Maybe it's my bias but it feels a BIT slower...whereas before as long as the screen was clean, it was very quick to either register, or refuse.
UPDATE: I change my mind. My phone sat unattended for 6 hours and when I tried to unlock it didn't work for any of my fingers. Even when I go into the test mode it would not detect any of my fingers. Cleaning the screen (which hadn't been used over those 6 hours) didn't help. After rebooting the scanner worked again.
By then I'd deleted one of my fingers, and it would keep telling me my finger wasn't covering the screen.
I think I like the October iteration better. It's less reliable but also much less fussy and didn't require a reboot to fix.

This just sucks. I am stuck without the fingerprint login now.... cant go past 41% whatever I try. Way to go Samsung.

I have the same problem.. I can not register a new one.. it says to clean the sensor around 40%... is there anyway to downgrade the update?

Ok Finally I could add one fingerprint.. but i had to remove my tempered glass. so yeah I had to throw away my tempered glass to add a finger print. this sucks..

Touch Screen Problem

So, I have ran into quite a problem. It didnt really happen out of the game Piano Tiles 2 but still, its annoying. I press onto the black tile but it doesnt register my touch. I dont know if it has something to do with the compatibility but it works perfectly fine on my m8. I havent unlocked, s-off or rooted my phone so thats not the problem. If anyone has a fix for this or the same problem please reply
EDIT: Tried testing the touch with an app called touch screen test, and as I thought it doesnt register every touch on the edges of the screen. It registers like 3 of 10 hits, sometimes more sometimes less. Does it have something to do with the sharp panel, which i dont think matters but I didnt see the problem on any other threads here.
I've been having issues with my phone's touch responsiveness since day one.
Swipes are registering as taps, long presses registering as taps, and some taps are not registering.
It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen.
I haven't rooted, unlocked the boot loader or s-offed.
It's an AU Telstra stock phone.
I thought it might be my screen protector, so I changed that and it still happens.
Maybe it's my launcher? IDK why that would be, I had Nova on my M8 and that worked perfectly. I changed back to stock launcher and still getting the issue.
In fact I have all the same apps installed that I had on my M8, and my M8 had a perfectly responsive screen.
I specifically came here today to see if anyone else was having the issues or if I'm the only one, maybe we have dud units and it's not wide-spread?
I am having the same problem now. It wasn't present at first. I tried a factory reset, but it didn't help.
I am going to try and get a replacement.
Only with Sharp panel there's the problem?
I went and saw Telstra yesterday to show them the problem, I was worried because it's an intermittent problem that phone would behave in front of them, but luckily it did screw up in front of them.
They have a policy where faulty phones will be replaced as a straight swap over in the first 30 days.
I've installed nearly everything and haven't had the issue once.
I don't really know what type of panel it is related to, etc. I called HTC, and they are overnighting me a replacement. I don't expect to see this problem surface again on the new model. It doesn't seem to be a wide spread issue. Maybe the screen didn't adhere properly to the digitizer, but I am not an expert in this area.
This is what I noticed too before sending it back to the store. Now that I think of it, try enabling glove mode for the screen to see if it still misses certain touches.
Ill try that. I still consider it a flaw, and HTC has already shipped the replacement (if my UPS tracking alert is from them).
It isn't that the screen doesn't pick up the touches, because it does. But If I try to touch anything in the upper 15% percent of the screen, it doesn't register properly. For example; the search bar in the google play store, search button in the gmail app, etc. If I try to push that, sometimes it doesn't respond, but most often it will register as a swipe, or actually register as a press somewhere in the middle of the screen.
I believe it is a hardware flaw. The problem persist, despite a factory reset. If I turn the phone in landscape, the problem stays localized to the mentioned portion of the screen; thus I believe it is hardware vs software.
Ok I tried glove mode and it does say i touched the screen, but for every app ive tried it doesnt recognize it still. So glove mode says i clicked, but it didnt on the screen. Hows that possible? maybe really not a hardware flaw idk

Yes, that same thing happened to me, furthermore, I received the phone with the capacitive buttons damaged, they don't light up.

HTC messed up the return for me. After waiting 2 weeks, I returned the phone and moved back to the Nexus 6p.

My HTC 10 screen doesn't respond to touches in the search bar at Google Apps and most apps actually except FB & Instagram. And when u slide the tool dock down, the 6 tabs under date & time aren't responding!
When I tired rotating the screen, they were in a different position and they worked normally.
I downloaded a screen test app and it was registering all touches correctly except in this rectangle on top of screen (at the dock & search bars position) it registers it as two thumbs on screen at the top quarter of that non-responding rectangle.
Does anybody know exactly is that a software or a hardware issue and how to solve it if the phone is not under warranty?

Same issue, just happened today, let me know if you found a solution
damn it
Please add necessary info, like sw version #, display panel info, etc. that might help to track.
A reboot to safe mode is always worth trying. If many of us ran into the same issue, maybe we can locate if it's HTC ROM related, or 3rd party apps related, or the worst: hardware related.
For my device, sometimes it's not very responsive on the side of the screen, but I've never had an area totally untouchable.
HTC 10, EU, 2.41.401.4, Sharp panel.
Edit on 26 May 2017: I just regret to say things above....Because I have the similar problem right now...I have no idea what happened...
take a look at image below:
The lines I drew were curved strangely bt the screen itself...
I tried a reboot and cleared the cache, it seemed to be working. Only after a few hours, it came back...I rebooted to save mode to test, but it still exists and getting worse:
I have no screen protector applied, phones wasn't dropped or got punctured recently...what's going on...
My solution
Mine is fixed yaaay
I had the same issue the upper 15% doesn't work...
A week ago I did a command from the PC to lower the screen so i can use the device:
adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,260
Today I wanted to revert back to full screen instead of using only 85% so i did the command with default values:
adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,0
Now it is working with no issues so i can confirm it is not hardware fault must be software.
If anyone has the same issue try the first command and reboot the phone the use the second command. (You need a PC with adb installed)
Good luck

I have htc 10, and Only 1 cm from the top of the touch screen is not working, so the notification panel can't pull down.
with this solution can I fix it?
Developed the same problem a couple weeks ago. Factory reset did not help.
Currently using the "overscan fix" described above (used 0,250,0,0)
Reverting to default does not fix the problem for me.
I fixed my htc10 after a month of dealing with htc RMA unsuccessfully.
Seriously try this. It fixed my phone on the second click. I was shocked.

OP 3 Heat issue and random crashes

Hello everyone!
Some basic info upfront:
The phone is completely stock(no root, etc) and on the latest available android update (9.0.6).
The phone was factory reset twice which didn’t fix anything.
Ambient temperature is 20°C
Behaviour:
Phone crashes related to heat:
- Whenever the phone screen turns black or the phone turns off due to a crash it is very warm/hot
- The phone (sometimes) turns off when I connect it to the charging device while on low (<20%) battery
- Battery temperature according to CPU-Z is normal (max 40-50°C) when charging and crashing
- (External) heat causes the phone to turn off (exposure to sunlight, holding it in my hand for like 5 minutes while using light gaming app/camera – sometimes even lighter usage apps)
- Phone turns off when used more heavily (e.g. frequent switching between apps)
- Last time, the simple use of google maps and youtube caused the phone to go black eventhough it was positioned in front of the car AC and therefore temps should have been perfectly fine. When it crashed it was very warm to the hand tho
- After a crash, the power button must be held for 10 - 20s to turn the device on again.
- Sometimes it seems as if the phone might still be on, and only the screen is black (LED still blinking).
- It seems as if holding the power butto first turns the device off and afterwards turns it on again
- CPU-Z shows very high tempterature on the sensor “pm8994_tz”. It’s always at least 20°C warmer than the other sensors. Before a crash it shows between 90°C and 100°C while the other sensors are in the 50’s (not able to screenshot that )
- The phone slows down and becomes choppy before crashing. If I notice this and stop using it right away for about 10 minutes I can sometimes prevent the phone from crashing.

Fingerprint reader not working:
- Fingerprint reader doesn’t work anymore (have had this issue before. It somehow went away and is now back) the homebutton howerever is functioning
- Also I think the last update for the OP3 made things worse. Fingerprint reader was working (with Andr. Pie - not 9.0.6 tho). Then I upgraded to 9.0.6. Fingerprint reader was still working. Then one crash. Since then the fingerprint reader is defect. I had times before when the FP-reader wasn’t working and the device stated that in red text. Now its just not working without any info from the phone.
- The *#808# sensor test says it's not a hardware malfunction. In the past the very same test also had already failed....
Android Data corruption:
- Within the last 3 months my phone twice randomly bricked out of nowhere: When trying to use it it showed an android screen that said “Decryption unsuccessful” With the only option to factory reset the phone
All the issues have become more and more frequent over the last 1.5 years. At first only bothering every few month and now on a pretty frequent basis.
Other than that, on “normal” days the phone’s performance is perfectly fine.
I don’t know if this is related to the issues mentioned above but it somehow started after I’ve been to Vietnam: 4 Weeks of constant ambient temperatures of 40°C. In my pocket probably warmer and camera use on top of that.
Also I just plugged it into the Vietnamese power outlets with my european charger. I have no idea if different voltages or something like that might have caused issues
I started writing this down with the intention of just listing bullet points and it turned out as a pretty long text. However, when the phone doesn’t have issues (which is most of the time) it’s perfectly fine. That’s why I don’t wanna exchange the device. It’s basicly a well working phone – when its working….
Battery life is fine. 70% brings me through the day.
Questions:
- Hardware or software issue?
- faulty sensor?
- might older android version fix the problem?
Thanks for reading through this and giving your suggestions!

UPDATE:
I downgraded back to Oos 5.0.8
- The phone feels snappier now.
- pm8994_tz temps are still above average
- I can't tell much about the heat-crash-stuff, since I'm not able to properly tax the system right now. However the device turned off twice during the setup process. Since then it's fine.
- I cannot setup a fingerprint because every security option requires me to enter the PIN. The devices says my PIN was wrong, although it's 100% correct. Funnily right now there isn't even a PIN set to unlock the device. So I'm stuck with the "swipe-to-unlock"-option. The statement about the wrong PIN also is an issue that sometimes occurred in the past out of nowhere.
crash/freeze issues occured on Oos 5.0.8. as well. So I upgraded back to 9.0.6. The "wrong-PIN" problem didn't change.
Do you think there is a chance that a custom ROM might help?
Or is it more likely to be a hardware issue?
some random thoughts:
Is there a chance that the heat dissipated from the SoC ist not transfered properly due to something like old thermal paste? Or the heatspreader not making contact to the chip?
could charging the device with a low power car-charger might have caused the issues?
Or maybe a magnet phone holder? Or are phones not susceptible to magnetism at all?
Update 20.05.2020:
I did another factory reset without changing the Oxygen OS version (9.0.6). I got completely stuck in the Android/OnePlus setup process (didn't access the homescreen at all). Phone kept freezing during the process. Phones temperature was not warm at all. After several reboots and the freezes in the setup process, i wiped everything once more. Just to be sure, I put a cooling pack from the freezer under the device during the setup process. With one minor hickup I got through the setup process and reached the homesceen.
Fingerprint reader is working again. The "wrong PIN"-Issue is gone as well.
The day after the phone randomly turned off. After several reboots its working well again.
Now I'm checking the launcher. I was using the Nova Launcher previously and used to load a backup everytime i restored the phone. This time I'm setting up the Nova launcher completely from scratch. Maybe incompatibilty of the old backup with the current android is causing issues.
Phone is running fine now. Homebutton stopped working once which could be fixed by a simple reboot.
Luigi, did you managed to get OP3 working more stable without crashes or overheating? I have similar issues and pm8994_tz is getting very hot (73 degree). Actually msm therm as well.
Regards, Pekka

Is your problem sorted out..I am also facing similar issue... don't know whether it's battery issue or not

S-Pen Always Disconnected

Good day, I am having this problem from quite some time now. The s-pen of my galaxy note 10+ was always disconnected and can’t use air actions. It will reconnect, but after a few seconds, it’s disconnected again. I already tried rebooting, clear cached, reset s-pen and boot into safe mode and still have the same problem. Anyone knows a workaround and the reasons to this? Thanks.
Is it fully charged, will it take a charge?
Disabled all power management.
Mine acted up like this but after playing with it a bit it started working normally. No issues since.
For some reason it was stuck at a couple percent charge every time I took it out and would quickly run out of juice. Not sure exactly what fixed it.
Check all of its settings.
Clear its data (air command, air command manager) and the system cache on the boot menu.
Try a hard reboot.
Do not do a hard reset as the issue will only probably return. Find the root cause.
Play with it... Androids wuv attention
This issue had became widespread in the Philippines which are many people posting in our facebook group. Still no solution presented except for replacing the s-pen.
Before, when I open the air actions settings, the battery changes from 40%-100% in a cycle, and then Disconnected. I tried clearing air command data and system cache but still no changes. Btw, thank you for the response.

Keep playing with it. My US AT&T variant was misbehaving in a similar way at first.
I hadn't use it much until it was couple months old. Not sure what fixed it but after a couple times of having the spen with zero or near zero charge and going through a couple charge cycles it took the charge.
It's been fine since. Bizarre.
Again make sure -all- power management is disabled!
Power management, destroyer of worlds.
Go to the settings menu, find air actions menu and click the 3 dot button on top right. It will have reset spen in there. I had a similar issue and that's what fixed mine.
Hope it helps.

Never got that error. It just didn't want to connect after I didn't use it for 2 months.
Is the spen fully charged? I just kept playing with it for a couple days, in & out, in & out It started working, first it charged to 100%, then no more issues. Guess spen's need attention too.
Unless physically damaged spens rarely fail.
Factory reset is a waste of time. Clear system cache instead. Try in safe mode to rule out a 3rd party app interference.
Keep magnets away from the phone!

I wouldn't update to 12... it's more likely to break than fix things.
I'm still running Android 9 and 10. I prefer Pie.

Every time you changed the firmware, you change the playing field. New problems mean you need to find new solutions or work arounds.
Instead stay on the same firmware and optimize it. Some say that 12 is worse than 11 and many have rolled back to 11 in disgust.
My device is fulfilling its mission, it's fast, very stable and security is not an issue. No way I'm touching the firmware! CPU cycle sucking scoped storage isn't fully active on 10 and doesn't exist on 9. It's fully active on 11 and 12.

Keep playing around with the spen and doing Google searches for possible solutions. Check the Samsung members forum too for solutions.
Eventually you'll find what the root cause is... many times it's a settings issue.
Like this...
Make sure global power management is not active as it can cause erratic behaviors. At the least make sure there's no battery/data restrictions on the spen apps!
Hi, I have this problem too. In a normal day, i Plug my Phone to charge and after some minutes i've got the spen disconnect and now it's impossible use air Action and take a photo with Button. Reset spen don't work. Any ideas?
Thank you

Turn off adaptive battery. Enable background data in Air Command and enable background battery usage in Air CommandManger.
Thank you. Unfortunately don't work for me.
Any suggestion?
I tried:
1. Reset spen
2. Plug many Times spen into note 10+
3. Turn off air Action and reboot Phone and then turn on air action
4. Delete data and cache air command app
5. Wipe cache partition of phone
6. Blackhawk suggestion
7. Reboot Phone in safe mode
8. Heat spen with hairdryer
Nothing work for me. Spen work perfectly and Button too, but doesn't work air Action. Spen is always disconnected but Plug into Phone.
I think that hard reset of my Phone doesn't change anything.
Any ideas?

Hard reset the phone, press power and volume down buttons until it powers off.
Don't heat the spen. It uses a super capacitor for a battery. Try in safe mode, repeatedly.
Try clicking it out but leaving it just short of it's locking mechanism engaging. Play with it...
Try another spen.
One of the other hardware failures that could happen is if the spen charging coil or it's circuit fail. This is rare unless damaged. You need to get it working though as it's a valuable tool, only half a Note without it.
Keep playing with it. Spen's can be fickle and seem inscrutable at times. If not used for a long time they seem to go stupid and not want to charge (no charge % means no connect) or connect. I had that happen at first as I didn't touch the spen for 6 weeks or more, I was busy frying bigger fish. It gave me hell for week when I finally tried to use it (it worked when I first got the phone), out/in, out/in etc, probably 3 dozens times nothing. Keep rebooting and trying.
Then I started to see it charging, first to like 15%, in/out again a couple more times and bam 100%. After which it behaved perfectly and has for almost 3 years now. What did I do? Damned if I know other than everything short of a global setting or factory reset. wtf?

Question Copy Data from KG locked Fold 3

Chaps,
In December I bought a Fold 3 from Allegro (a Polish Amazon / eBay hybrid). I enjoyed the phone immensely until two weeks ago when it showed me this unsexy screen :

Turns out the seller on Allegro was a pawn shop - they did not rip me off, they were ripped off by whoever pawned the item. Obviously the phone stopped being paid and this happened. I tried calling but there's nothing Polkomtel can do for me or for the seller - even paying back the remaining amount ourselves is off the table due to GDPR as apparently they would have to reveal some details about the person who originally bought the phone and ripped us off.
But I digress. I've already written off the phone, I don't care about it. However I do care about the data within. I took countless photos and movies with it, and I need to extract them.
So here's the full technical situation.
Nothing gets past that lock screen
Notifications still work which means I the phone is technically still functional
I can get calls on it when a SIM card is inserted, but as soon as it hangs up, that dreaded lock screen shows up again
Google Assistant works and displays results on top of the lock screen, but as soon as I tap on anything, yep, lock screen again
Plugging the phone to a Windows computer shows the device but no data within - this only appears when the phone is unlocked
USB Debugging is off - I never needed to mess around with this device previously
Flashing with Odin fails as it is KG Locked
All I want is to fish out the data from the phone. It does not have a SIM card slot or this would have been easy. I honestly don't care about anything else.
I've seen many methods to bypass KG/MDM lock but they all involve wiping the phone - this is obviously not what I'm after.
Is there anything that can be done?

Are the photos backed up In Samsung cloud or Google photos? You could get these from a Web browser?

Not really, I usually back everything up to my Synology at home (in Spain). This KG / MDM lock happened when I was visiting family in Poland.
I have about a month and a half of backlog that wasn't replicated to the Synology - it's still quite a lot though.
So I guess that another bullet point can be added - changing country doesn't remove the lock, sadly.
This is a long shot but it can't hurt to look into it.
In the US phone stores used to carry a device that would connect to 2 phones and copy data from one to the other. From my limited time working with T-Mobile they still had them but never used them anymore, and from what I gathered, it didn't require user input on the device other than being turned on. You could always try some phone stores around you to see if they have a device similar and buy a replacement cheapo phone to put the stuff on.
Its Kg lock, you can bypass it disabling stock launcher/system ui and knox

I do not think disabling system UI, or System launcher when you have no other launcher installed is a good idea. Disabling certain parts of knox render bootloops. Can you try to call the number?
I doubt there is a ay way to take the data out, that would be a security risk.
And Yeah, then you have to install your own status bar app, navigation bar app, lock screen app, notifications app, volume bar app, launcher app or stay with samsung one ui launcher app.
That just my hint, i did it and it works with my a52s 5g android12. And it works with many other models, you can google it 'kg lock bypass'
Ps. Im typing from this phone rn

You also cannot install anything while locked.
the problem in this case is that it can be done as soon as you wipe the phone. Because you have to do this at the first time you turn on the phone, when is unlocked.
the lock takes place after completing the configuration of the google account etc.
there is a chcance to save the data if you already had adb debugging enabled before the phone was locked.
Then you can avoid the wiping procedure and just disable/install aps thru adb, because that's what the bypass is all about.
but i see that the author dont need to save the 'data' that much since he tried to flash another firmware thru odin

Question Touches sometimes don't register immediately after going to home screen, etc

Does this happen for anyone else? On my S22, not all of the time but sometimes, when I leave an app, go to recents, go home, etc, a tap sometimes won't register immediately, or maybe for .5 to 1 second. I have show taps enabled and I can see the taps happening, so the phone and touch screen are both aware of the tap, but they still don't do anything for a bit.
I think it's an issue related to One UI Home (Launcher) and its animations. They should definitely improve it and squash those annoying bugs.

Diaable all animations. Not needed.
There should be no delay. A second is an eternity. Is it running warm or hot when near idle?
Try clearing the system cache.
Try in safe mode. You may have a buggy 3rd party app.
Did you do any major firmware upgrades without a factory reset afterwards? If so... get reloading.
Do not use SmartSwitch.

For me, it's been this way since I got the phone, the animations definitely seem to cause most of the issues after turning them off, but some of my taps still dont register. It's significantly more rare with animations turned off but it's still there. Unless it's just normal for some taps not to register every now and then, but I never had this issue on my galaxy s9.
While typing in another app (chrome), I just tried going to my home screen and tapping a different app immediately, it didn't register it on the first try. I don't double tap so I'm not sure how long it takes to stop. It's rare but certainly still there.
I'm curious if anyone else here tries, even with animations off, if they would experience the same issue occasionally (I had my keyboard up and I was typing). While in one app, type or do something for a bit, and then hit home, and tried tapping another app immediately. For context, I am tapping it RIGHT as the screen switches to home. I know I'm not tapping it too fast or anything because my taps register more often than not doing the same thing.
Trying in safe mode is difficult as it seems the issue doesn't present itself immediately, even in normal mode, after a fresh boot. I also tried safe mode with my internet enabled and didn't experience the issue, but I'm still not experiencing it (in normal mode) right now at all. It's important to mention that I've experienced certain hiccups like this since I first got the phone, before I installed any third party apps. Most of the bloatware apps I have uninstalled. The only thing I can think of, that was available then and still available now, are apps like google drive, samsung notes, etc.

Show taps is enabled so I can see the screen acknowledges all my touches, it just doesn't do stuff otherwise sometimes.

Something running in the background.
Do a factory reset maybe to rule out user data corruption or malware.
Possibly corrupted firmware or mobo failure.
What are the power settings in Device Care?
Disable global power management.

I have everything off other than auto disable apps, it's instead listed as automatically put apps to sleep, is that the same thing?
I'd rather not factory reset, but I don't think it's malware if I got this phone factory fresh and it had the issues then too.
Considering it seems to get worse the longer the phone is on, I suppose a mother board issue would make sense. At least it hasn't progressively gotten worse altogether since I got the phone a year ago.
