Treble ROM - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

Has anyone tried any GSIs on our device? I see lots of roms springing up for the 7 pro, I'm curious if we could flash them with slight modification.

All dev's busy with OP7 Pro because they got devices from OP. And no one bother what is happening with other ROMs. Now these days custom ROMs dying and it's a bitter fact.

This is a GSI, but I've also seen that omnirom have a device tree up on GitHub. So it's coming ?.

Do the AOSP GSI ROMs support VOLTE?

How can we install a ROM without a working TWRP?

Been wondering why there is a lack of custom ROMs for the 7T. Hopefully it's only a matter of time.

There is no TWRP so can't really flash a non treble rom.
Once TWRP officially support Android 10 I'm sure more and more ROMs and kernels will come.

You guys have to understand that it is not a mainstream device. You will find custom builds for One M8 but not One M8 Eye.

That's my point. You will not find any support for this device because many don't have this device. Most people bought One M8, not One M8 Eye. And after this device, there have been three flagships released. So, forget about developer support for this device. Similar case is with HTC10 and HTC10 Lifestyle. HTC10 is the mainstream device but Lifestyle is not.
So, really the onus is on you guys to buy a mainstream device if you desire developer support in XDA or elsewhere.
Atleast this device has unofficial TWRP and root. I guess, that is more than enough for this device. As such the stock ROM is good and with few tweaks using root access, you should be good to go.
Does anyone still have their HTC M8_Eye?
Beacuse I was able to compile TWRP(3.1.1-0) and custom ROMs(PixelExperience 9.0 and LineageOS 16.0) for our device(HTC One M8_Eye) and if you guys are still around I might create a new thread and release the same.

Is there going to be Android Oreo for armani by any chance?

Not to sound greedy, but I saw Mi 3 and Mi 4 getting unofficial AOSP Oreo and now even Nexus 5 (hammerhead) though it has some bugs. But it meas devs have already started working on Oreo roms. If any dev or fellow armani user can share any information related to Orea for armani it'd be great.

yeah we will get it sooner or later as few devs working on it ( they won't tell us until they boot android 8 on the device so no promises from them to bring oreo to you eventually they work hard to get one for armani ) probably we won't get aosp as it's very difficult to build, surely we can expect lineage 15 as it includes legacy devices support ... until then no eta or annoying posts on forum or on their pm let them work on it :fingers-crossed:

ROMs for 8.0+

After my pixel XL took a dump when updating to 8.0 DP1 I got a replacement, since then I have not rooted, I came back to xda today with the itch to flash a rom and I found 1 8.0 rom. Is there a reason that none of the big name roms like PN have updated? Is 8.0+ a pain in the ass?
Beyond a pain in the azz. Development looks like it's dead.
take the smoothness of pure android on pixel, the speed of updates (especially if you go beta)
then the "hassle" of rom creating/flashing/testing
I'd stick to stock

Stock is awesome I agree, my only concern is when Google decides to drop support for Marlin which will mean no more android updates if we have no dev support

Lineage os 17

Hey guys, If You search for "crosshatch" on Androidfilehost.com You will See an unofficial Lineage 17 build.
I've Download it but i want to know how to flash with adb, since twrp is Not Out for Android 10 on the Pixel 3 XL.
I think you have to use fastboot to flash the boot/recovery image he has listed right below then go into recovery and apply update from adb and sideload the zip
---------- Post added at 02:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:39 AM ----------
Tried but I just get stuck on google logo at boot. You'd probably be better off just using Havoc OS its very easy to install and runs on android 10
