Video stutters - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I have tried several streaming sites and the video stutters on most of them. DC universe, sling, fubo all stutter but the audio is good.
YouTube, twitch and Disney+ all work fine.
Also, the video only seems to stutter on my phone and not if I cast to Chromecast.
Does anyone know a fix for this?
I am on Android 9.0 on a custom room. It worked good on the room I had previous, but I had to change for other reasons, I haven't changed anything, unsure of what it could be.

Twitch HD streaming lag on AOSP ROMs

I have tried just about every infected ROM, plus some other ones (Mahdi and Candykat) with different kernels (mani and redkernel) they all have the same issue.
When I go onto the Twitch app and go into a game stream and change the quality to Source (which I assume is 1080p) after a while the video starts to lag, sound gets choppy and unsynced, and after a minute or so the stream just stops.
This doesn't happen with Stock 4.4.2 ROM though, so anybody have any idea how to fix it?
Thanks.

Need Help with Hulu Performance Troubleshooting

My tablet (sgh-i467) has been experiencing performance issues with Hulu and Hulu only. My father has the same exact tablet and when we play the same video on Hulu, his is smooth and mine is choppy. Every other video playing app, Crunchyroll, Youtube, streaming off of the network, works flawlessly. Troubleshooting so far has not gone very well. I went as far as to perform a factory reset with no positive results what so ever. I am wondering if someone could help me troubleshoot the problem.

Well it looks like his is still on JB and yours updated to KK.
KK is terrible, and LP is gonna be worse... There is nothing you can do to revert back to JB. You can ask to swap tablets after backing up everything.
I have been testing with my cheapo Ebay tablet on KK. Found that Music likes Ondemand, system and normal apps like Pegasus. Some video apps are a mixed bunch, so one way or another will find a good playback. Hulu and Xfinity TV go like Performance with no overlays.
It is not the best, but better than stock kernal settings.
I am finding you can mess with Build.prop, WFDconfig, and capability files, to get better playback as well. Seems like both JB and KK like similar mods with wfd and streaming settings.
Not everything plays well with KK, so take small steps to find out what helps and what does not.
Right now I am playing around with 5000000 on the upper encoding for wfd. Also keeping profiles no higher than 1280x720 ... as many S4 and S5 files floating around push 1920x1080 because of their higher pixel rate. I find audio is safe with higher bit rates as well. Moving from 128000 to 192000 keeps things smooth and a wee higher detail.
Hulu playback stutters, stalls

I also have unwatchable Hulu since updating to KitKat. Thought I could change from Dalvik to Art and/or disable hardware video but I can find neither in Settings.

Fire TV 2 video playback issues

My AFTV2 will not playback video from any source without the playback pausing/stopping for about 1-2 seconds all through the movie. No matter what the source whether streaming from my NAS or streaming from an app, any app. I play the same video back on my AFTV1 and it plays fine. I can't even play 720 video back clean let alone 1080p. I am rooted on 5.0.4 I was thinking of unrooting and going back to 5.0.3 but I would rather not have to do that. Anyone else having issues with video playback on AFTV2? or can anyone suggest what I can try to correct it. I have already tried playing back video using MX Player and VLC. I thought VLC might work because its the one from Amazon Play Store but the result is the same. It's really driving me crazy because it happens all the time. The reason I got the AFTV2 was because I thought I would get cleaner playback of video based on the new hardware, but my AFTV1 which is also rooted blows it out of the water. The Fire TV 2 is connected to a powerline adapter, but I tested it connected directly to my router and the result was the same. Even on the powerline adapter my speed test is about 19-24 mbps which should be fast enough to playback video smoothly. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

So.....no one else has problems with video playback on the AFTV2? If not then maybe it's my particular box that has a problem...

I just stream using Kodi & some addon sources you will get buffering problems but to be honest it's fine when you get a nice stream.

thanks for the reply. Yes I use Kodi as well, and you're right you have to have a good stream first. But even when I stream movies from my NAS in Kodi, or select a stream from an addon that's say MQ it still stutters throughout the movie. When I play the same movie, same stream, from my AFTV1 it plays perfectly fine. I know I have a fast enough internet connection. It just seems strange to me that the AFTV2 with the more powerful hardware can't come close to the AFTV1 when it comes to video playback. Even Netflix stutters.

Netflix Problems on Fire TV 4K Model

Everything else on the system works fine. 4k Video from Amazon Instant comes through quick and clear. Hulu is fine .. etc.
When watching Netflix, everything does fine for a while. There is a good quality 4K stream coming in that is playing smoothly. However after about 20-30 minutes of watching a show, the video starts to stutter and get choppy, eventually leading to the point where it is only display around 10 frames per second or so from what it looks like. Hitting back on the remote and starting the video again corrects the issue, however having to do this 4 to 5 times during a show seems ridiculous.
Is there anyone else that has had this issue and has found a solution for it ?
Thanks for the help anyone that can.
I have the same Problem with Netflix. So is Ultraflix at 5.0.5.1 with h.265 stuttering and works only with h.264 at 5.0.4 it works with both codecs perfect.

In Kodi some Vidoes are stuttering or jittering but work fine after pausing and play

Some Vidoes are stuttering or jittering but work fine after pausing and unpausing
The are stored on the local lan so it is not a internet issue, but just pausing them and play again fixes this. not a big deal but when queuing shows it is annoying.
This videos are older type videos, looks like small xvid or AVIs
Anyone seem this before
it has been doing this in Kodi 16.1, 17 and 17.1
