Philips 55PUS7909/12: Both Rear joypad and remote control not working - Philips, Sony, TCL Android TV

Hello,
Help needed please, I have a 4 years old Philips 55PUS7909/12 Smart TV. since yesterday, I cannot anymore control the TV: when using the remote control and the rear joypad button, the red led blinks but TV does not repond to any comand. Cannot change source, volume, enter the menu... The only thing I can do is plug and unplug the power cable to power on/off the TV.
When TV powers on, I see philips logo, then video and sound work perfectly on HDMI 1 input But then nothing else works, cannot switch to other HDMI or to TV cable since joypad/remote control are not working.
I have tried to use philips MyRemote app on my smartphone but it does not find the TV anymore, like if TV is not connected to WIFI.
Any clue please?

Hi,
MyRemote is the wrong app - try TV Remote App...
Try to connect an USB Keyboard... maybe some keys are working...

Hello,
I finally used recovery mode to:
1- wipe all data
2- reinstall the firmware copied from philips support site to a usb key.
Joypad is now working, remote control also, but when I press Home or source buttons, TV displays the "waiting/progress circle" like it is trying to display something but finally nothing happens.
I dont know, maybe a hardware issue is causing issues but I cannot identify it for now.
One question, after wipe and firmware reinstallation, I found back my old HDMI source names and icons, like if some parts were not wiped. Am I doing something wrong?

[Q] Programming Sense TV Remote (Samsung Smart TV)

I read on another forum while searching for this problem that all of the buttons on the HTC TV App can be programmed to any button on your remote. I am trying to work with the Samsung Smart TV Remote (which has the touch pad, mic button, and a Smart Hub button). After many attempts, I cannot get it to work. The Remote App works fine for the TV on its own, but I cannot program any buttons. All I really want to do is to connect one of the buttons to the Smart Hub button on the remote. Has anyone got this to work?Am I doing something wrong by following exactly what the button setup is telling me to do? (I'm long holding the button and pointing it directly at the power button).
Apologies if this is posted in the wrong section! Thanks!

HTC TV and Samsung D7000 Infrared Problem

Hi everyone. I am trying to configure HTC TV app for my Samsung D7000 tv. Default control buttons works fine. I can define a custom button too and it says "Button recognized" but when try to use that custom button, my tv doesn't recognize it. I looked to power button via camera and I can see that infrared light coming up when I click to the button that created. I tried this feature with different remote controller and tv and it just works. I want to ask, is there any idea about my problem?.
What sort of button is it, is it a toggle button? For example a power button that is used for both turning on and turning off?
Also have you tried smart ir remote from play?

[q] help with assigning button on Sony remote

So to my surprise, my regular sony tv remote (IR) is able to control my AFTV out of the box. i originally thought i would need to buy a USB IR blaster for this. However, my guess is the Bravia sync is playing the part here. I seem to be able to replicate most things (directional pad, select, return) but don't think i have a button on here that can do the Home button or the Contextual (Hamburger menu) button.
Is there a way to configure this somehow?

Hi,
I have a Bravia also and my Sony remote controls the Fire TV. You're correct that the Bravia Sync (CEC) is doing the job.
On my Sony remote the blue "Home" button works as the Context (hamburger) button, at least in XBMC it does.
I can't find a button that replicates the Fire TV "Home" button though, and I don't believe there's an way to configure this.
Does yours work ok all of the time? For me, after a while the FireTV seems to break all my CEC communication, so my TV stops controlling my audio system and doesn't see any connected devices, only pulling the power from the FireTV will fix this, but then after a while (sometimes hours, sometimes a couple of days) it breaks again.
It's using the HDMI cable/slot that my WDTV Live SMP was using and that never had a problem so I don't think it's the HDMI cable at fault.

Yeah i figured out that i needed to change some settings to allow the remote to replicate the "hamburger" button.
I find it a bit laggy (understandable) compared to the amazon remote, and the lack of a Home button makes me think I'll eventually just use two remotes, sacrificing a bit of convenience that way. I haven't had the issue you've had yet though; i've only had it a few days though. My setup is pretty simple though, just my tv hooked up to the AFTV.

Bought a Harmony Hub to control my FireTV, but I'm hitting some issues. Anyone else?

I bought the Harmony Hub in order to have a single-remote solution for my home theater setup. The Harmony Hub can control things via Bluetooth, which is why it can control the FireTV even though it's missing an infreared port.
So I set up a Watch TV activity that powers on my TV and my receiver, and then controls the FireTV with the playback and directional buttons. Everything works great until I turn the activity off. and then back on. When everything powers back on, the remote has lost its ability to control the FireTV. it can still control the TV and receiver, however.
To fix it, I have to open up the Harmony smartphone app, issue a single command to the FireTV (which forces some sort of re-pairing) and then the remote works great again.
Does anyone else have this issue?
My Firetv is rooted, btw, so if any possible solutions require root I can do that.
You need to setup two activities:
1. Watch TV (the FireTV should not be included in this activity.)
2. Watch Five TV.
Open "My Harmony App" on your computer. Go to Add Device/Amazon/FIre TV. Then create a new Activity. The presets on your remote and your phone or tablet do everything you need except there is no Home Button. You can map an unused button (using the "My Harmony" software) to Home. I used the "Red".
This works flawlessly for me. If I am watching TV and and I hit Watch Fire TV, the cable box turns off, and the input on my receiver switches. Then I hit enter to wake up the FireTV. Works the opposite way, too.
Thanks! Your reply helped me figure out the problem: I didn't have the "ENTER" command mapped to a button, so no button I hit would wake up the Fire TV. I'm working now!

Philips 65pus8535

Hello
I have the following problem. The TV has been in Factory mode for 2 weeks. I couldn't turn on the TV with the remote control. I took out the batteries and the TV turned on with the word Factory mode in the upper left corner and the word TF in the lower right corner. Only volume, source switching and program change work on the remote. I have a decoder connected to it and luckily the picture and sound work. I have already tried restarting from the joystick on the TV to upload the android. But attempts end at android erasing. It looks like there is no android and the menu is different. I attach photos. If anyone knows how to turn it off, I will be grateful.
