(Question) What is the best (stable) rom to install now?

Hello guys,
my girlfriend has one mi5s 4/128 bootloader unlocked.
What is the best rom for her smartphone, which I can install?
Best regards
João Penas
I'm running the official one which works very fine for me.
Alternatively, I heard a lot of good things about the xiaomi.eu custom rom: https://xiaomi.eu/
syberia OS is the best. Performance is the best I've tried so far, battery life is also the best (maybe same with miui) featurea are also quite good.

I think the same! I'm on syberia since september and it works really smooth!
I'm on LOS 16, works very well with Advanced Kernel Tweaks (AKT) with great battery life and performance.
But, if your girlfriend has no knowledge for customizing kernel it would be better to get the Syberia since those folks said it is smooth out of the box.

does fingerprint sensor work??
and which firmware are you using??
Holy moly, this Syberia ROM is really smooth. Flashed it last night and it really impressed me, didn't even shorted the animations in developer mode as I was doing.

I can't answer for the fingerprint because i losted it when I've changed the screen.
I've a firmware from October, and didn't updated it from then. Maybe it is Firmware. But i'm not sure about that.

Fingerprint works just fine, fast and reliable.
I'm on Syberia v2.2 fro Jan 26 2019
Kernel 3.18.133-Pie-EAS
Build syberia_capricorn-userdebug 9 PQ1A.190105.004 eng.root.20190126.145700 release-keys
(Didn't know how to tell precisely the Firmware LOL)

I don't have any. Since I bought the Mi 5s I didn't even touch firmware, just downloaded some ROM and flashed it.

yes. twrp is needed, you can give it a try, but do backup first, remove magisk and all modules. but recommended is clean flash.
I downloaded from mi forum
So far so good everything works like a charm but battery cant last whole day
On 4.4 kernel i can archive 2 day straight without charging, on the same battery unit now

So I've testing ever since and THERE'S HUGE BUG
gyroscope isn't working properly, auto rotate works fine (magnetic sensor)
But when i play games with gyro uses such as PUBG it drift away so hard
Perhaps its caused by broken persist.img ?
Or it caused by the rom itself?
Btw has anyone tried custom kernel in this rom? Core control kinda fu*ked up it closes core 3 even when thermal protection disabled

Hello,
I did check gyroscope, its working fine. You can see attached pic. but i dont pubg. I have used various custom roms. i usuallly get 5.30 to 6.30 hrs SOT in customs roms. but in miui roms, mostly i got 5hrs of SOT. but just of camera and stuff, i am using miui. As portrait mode and camera optimization is best in MIUI.
No custom kernel i have tried yet.

I guess so, maybe its Pubg related problem.
Btw for core problem, i use AKT tweak and it solved
Using battery saving mode from AKT give me futher SOT and insane idle time. Highly recommended
And lastly, it seems a lot of apps not being optimized (doze), can be fix by install hidden miui settings app and manually optimize those apps

hello,
.you need to enable onscreen navigation to show full screen gesture option.
you can manually do it by
root explorer (you need to modify system file)
1. Go to /system/build.prop and add qemu.hw.mainkeys=0

hello only compatible android 10?
I have installed the kernel on Samsung S10e (SM-970F). With the custom kernel the device is booting, but the key combination for Magisk is needed, otherwise I can't get pass the pin combination. Also the screen birghtness is very high when I boot without key combination.
I leave the kernel installed to see if the battery drain overnight is less as before, about 10 - 15% in 8 hours with do not disturb on.

The battery management is very well also during a day. For a long time had have a round 30% left after 24h. Keep up to good work.

What I can say from my experience were Caf-based 10 and 11 roms most lasting in case of battery backup (never tried a a9 ROM)
i think the battery is the most durable with android 9.

you have to be more precise because things change from rom to another
if your concern is only battery life then A10 is better (because of kernel development)
(but of course not all roms are the same)
performance is pretty much the same (RRos is still the best choice)
best A9 rom i tested was "Xtended-Pie-With-Havoc-vendorvbmeta" by carlos from dtuxed group

Question Flashing ColorOs from OxygenOs

Has any OnePlus 11 OxygenOs user tried to flash ColorOs via fastboot enhance ? Is there any issues ? Since I prefer a rooted OnePlus 11 experience it seems coloros one has much better support like properly getting memc support @120fps, 4K video recording @120fps and many more
I second this, seems like the oxygenos is more buggy and nerf in performance (for a cooler experience?). I can't even use the camera app directly from lockscreen as it keeps glitching and keeps screen brightness at minimum

Camera from lockscreen works fine. Either with double power button press or from the lockscreen camera shortcut.
No issues with screen brightness at all.

same way as cos to oos only you use a cos pack and flash it
Or use the coloros full pack and flash the payload.bin with fbe over fastboot/fastbootd
