Moto Z2 force custom firmware make eom_locked - Moto Z2 Force Questions & Answers

I have such problem.
xt1789-04 with TMobile. Bootloader unloccked. Was unlocked sim to use not in USA. After that i cann't flash any custom. After intaling firmware from trwp oem became locked. Also cann't donwgrade modem firmware. Also try to flash customs from adb - got anther oem_locked

You can check the Tmo carrier unlock policy. But I think the carrier can not be relocked (I've use ATT àn VRZ before). It seems the modem fw had problem (maybe its own firmware) if it had not recognized the sim card. If you have the EFS backup, you can restore it.
If you're bootloader is relock, no, the custom roms do not relock the bootloader. The unlocked bootloader can be relocked but can not be relocked as stock.

how to CHECK if my bootloader is locked?

i bought a p2c72 version.... but it arrived flashed with p2a42 version, marshmallow and it does not find any OTA.
i think it is a fake/bad rom from banggood.
i wanna start modding but i don't know how to understand if my bootloader is unlocked. Could it be already unlocked... being already flashed with p2a42 rom ...... on p2c72 hardware?
No, you can flash an international stock rom over chinese rom without unlocking your bootloader.. You cannot find any update because the lenovo servers are down. If you want to check whther your bootloader is locked or unlocked then switch off your phone and switch on your phone, if an open lock sign appears on the boot screen then your phone is unlocked, and if you cant see a lock on the boot screen then it is locked
i checked into the OEM unlocking option inside the developer options...... i have a locked bootloader, i am waiting 14 days to unlock....

Can I update with unlocked bootloader?

I am stock firmware and havent touched it. I only have unlocked bootloader of my moto g5. Can I OEM update with unlocked bootloader?.
I saw an article for locking bootloader and it said to flash the firmware again. As I am already on untouched firmware, can i directly lock my bootloader? I have bricked a device in the past and so don't want to do that again.

Question - factory unlocked H815- will oem bootloader unock etc affect carrier unlock

Simple question but can't really find the answer online.
Bought an H815, no carrier label etc. My ATT sim works in it.
I want to unlock the bootloader (OEM process) root, add TWRP and flash custom ROMS. Will this affect the factory unlocked carrier status?
How is it carrier unlocked btw , at the hardware level or bios type process? I see the H815 comes factory carrier unlocked?
tia
Assuming your phone was purchased sim free, then no, bootloader unlock shouldn't affect it. You can always make a backup with SALT first (bootloader can be locked when you take the backup) so if for whatever reason it does get removed then you can restore it.
Btw, LG's don't support fastboot oem unlock. You need to do it via Official LG bootloader unlock website or UsU (look here in the threads) if your device isn't supported officially - if it is an EU H815 it official should work though.
fr eBay sim free. I'll look into the SALT backup.
I did a bit of work already and signed up as an LG dev and do see the LG website process which I was going to do to start.
So then adding TWRP and a custom rom will not affected the carrier unlock as well?
thanks

Questions about carrier unlock and re-lock the bootloader

Deear All,
I just bought my z2 force (t-mobile) from internet. It is an unlocked version and i can use it with my own sim card. However, i found that it cannot update via OTA as the bootloader is unlocked. I have heard that after i re-flash the firmware, the bootloader will be relocked. I am wondering, will the flashing re-activate the carrier lock?
Also, is it correct that after I flash via Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant. the bootloader will be locked again?
Is there other method to allow the phone to get OTA again?
Thanks a lot for your help.

Unlocked bootloder won't stop an ota, but a custom logo.bin will. Chances are that the seller has also flashed a logo. When you boot you should see a warning about your bootloader being unlocked, if you don't and you just see a moto logo (or any stationary image really) then you have a custom logo which will fail otas. The easiest way to remedy this is to follow Uzephi's "How to Return to Stock' thread. Then you should get otas again. It is advised never to relock your bootloader. A good example of why would be that you have a custom logo, you relock, your phone fails to boot and you can't flash anything because you locked it. There is no real valid reason to relock your phone. As for losing carrier unlock, you shouldn't, those are usually permanent. Unless it was some hack which I doubt since I believe that is only for Spring variants. Just follow Uzephi's guide and you should be back to good.

Question Locked A22

Hi, i have one question. My friend could sell to me his phone a22, but phone is locked by operator (soft lock, not IMEI) - cause he hasnt pay for phone his loan. I chceck, that imei is ok, not block. Could i flash oryginal stock firmware without unlock bootloader? I cant press OEM UNLOCK in dev options cause phone block after boot - > please pay your loan - it says...
it is worth to cheap buy? can i unlock it by flash not modified softare?
I think you can flash a stock firmware without unlock bootloader. Have bootloader unlocked it is for install modified software like it is Magisk or/and TWRP, or even for downgrade system Android version.
