I have the same problem. Moreover knowing some users reported their 7T have green tint. I wonder if the 7 pro have the same problem.

[Poll] What screen size you want in next note ?

Since this seems to be quite the polarizing issue, what's your preference in display size of the next phone. May the democracy win!
I will say 6.0 but with better screen to phone ratio
I am happy with current size and shape, so 5.7. I'd scrap the Samsung logo on the front though..
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
The only way I will be happy with anything over 5'7 is if the keep the current body size, otherwise....no...cause that means the body will be bigger.
Do you remember the old days of s2 ? I mean 5 years ago, compared to my previous nokia brick the screen was huge. Then when I got the m7 (4.3 in I think) I said this is a giant screen/phone, definitely the biggest I will ever get. Tbh, that was also due to the power button placement on top.
Fast-forward note7 and 5.7 in, the moment I tried it I knew was perfect size. the curved screen and absence of bezels on sides helped I assume. I mean my 7yo (she has really tiny hands) carried it once one-handedly so who am I to complain about size?
I want 5.8 as I think they can keep the bezels smaller by making home button capacitive or something. But not smaller than 5.7 inch.
Nothing smaller than what we have now but would love a 6 inch screen and the same feel as the 7
Sent from my SM-N930P using XDA-Developers mobile app
Same here would love to see a 6 inch screen
I don't want to see a larger phone, the 5.7 was good enough for me. Don't want to see anything smaller either though. However, if they keep the dimensions of the phone the same and are able to make the screen larger on the same space (less top and bottom), then by all means, make it larger lol
I still own the Sony Xperia Z Ultra with a 6.4" screen. Had to own one, never used it as every time I placed it in a front pocket I couldn't sit down, walk nor drive as it would dig into my groin.
There is still to this day a die hard core of fans of the Sony Ultra who want Sony to produce the Mk11!!
I will easily resist. I have the original sitting in a draw in a nice case collecting dust. Its just too big, in fact its bloomin massive! Never again. Has to fit in a pocket and be mobile friendly.
Please be careful what you wish for as it may come true!
The Note 7 was perfection.

And the Note 7 is a "Phablet". Some of us have used our Tablets (Tab 3) as a Phone. And after becoming accustomed to using a Tablet even my Note 4 seems tiny at times. Really, what is the percentage of people who actually use their 'Smartphones' as a Phone these days? If all you want is to make calls then why bother with such an expensive device after all? Multi-Window/Split Screen really come into their own on a Tablet
After all the Note Pro is still a NOTE. A Pad?
*The View could be viewed as a Tablevision
The bigger the better! And if the whole phone is bezel-less, then it can be made larger, in height. I don't want it any wider than the Note 7 though. The Note 7 fit so perfectly in the hand.
At least 6". Without bezels could be 6.2"

As Honor 9 has launched also it confuses me a lot about display size whether to choose Honor 8pro or Honor 9 . Am using a 5.5 inch display fone now...
Just need some good opinions whether I have to go with 5.7 inch Honor 8pro or Smaller 5.2 inch Honor 9 . Will I feel unsatisfied with smaller 5.2 inch Honor 9 ? Rest of the specs am ok with it.
I used to browser net and watch YouTube videos mainly. Please help

If you often watch videos, watching them in a bigger screen is more satisfying. Plus it has bigger battery.

actually, i'd think the difference is quite clear cut and the choice would be quite obvious.
the honor8pro is NOT a small phone. size and weight wise, it is very similar to Huawei Mate9. it can be a bit heavy if you're coming from a 5.5" phone.
so it does boil down to personal preference. for me, i do think honor8pro is a bit too big and heavy, but, i'd still take it over honor9 because i think i can accept the bigger size and weight more than smaller screen. i don't think i'd be able to accept a smaller screen... for me, just like you, i watch a lot of videos, browse the net and social media. a big screen can surely help with those...
i've used the Huawei P9 before. it's about the same size as Honor9. nice to hold and such... but, i felt the screen was a bit small for me. i like to game on my phone too...
hope that helps.

i guess either hands happy, or eyes happy...
but yes, holding the mate 9 (similar weight), it does feel a bit heavy. but i guess after a while, the hand should be used to it.
then again, staring at small screen, eventually eyes will get used to it too...
still, i prefer hand do extra work. i'm already four-eyed. plus, sometimes, can just put the phone on a stand or sth... no need to hold.

The H8P has a 2K display, which makes watching videos a delight. Though you'll use more battery. But with a full charge time of 1.5 hours I think you shouldn't have a problem.

Ok, I'm in a dilemma here. The OP5 (6GB) scores more in benchmarks than the H8P. Not to mention claims of the camera being better on the OP5 as well a battery life and not to mention a cleaner UI. So which one do I go for? Conventional knowledge says OP5. But I wanna hear from any Honor users here about this.
I carry my phone in my front pocket and the Moto G4 i have now with the sleeve on it works well. Since I've vowed to never own another Motorola/Lenovo product im looking at the Honor 8. If the Honor 9 was available in the US I'd probably go that route but since it isn't it may be the 8. I'm just unsure how it would carry thickness and length wise. I dont think a 1/2 inch or so will make much difference, and the weight doesn't matter much.

Which phone should I buy?

Hello everyone
Which phone should I buy?
1. S10 plus
2. Note9
3. P30 pro
4. Mate 20x
5. LG G8
6. LG V50
7. Any other
Plz reply with Which and Why?
Thanking in advance.
I would go for the P30 Pro or Mate 20X. The cameras are outstanding. The battery life is really good. However, if you want lots of pen functionality and added bloatware/extra functions, go with a Samsung.
Mate 20 X, good camera, big screen and battery life. If there was no Mate 20 X, i would go for the Note 10 Pro. Besides that ugly camera hole and curves, the 6.8 inch screen looks really nice on Quad HD.
Or:
The Vivo Nex 3 if you like waterfall screens? (i don't). Large 6.89 inch screen, no notch/camera hole, good camera. But yeah still only realeased in China.

OnePlus 7T Pro if you want a 6.67 inch 90Hz screen without notch and camera hole. Also Quad HD, but tiny lower than Note 10 Pro. It has also a curved screen.
Note 9. It has led notifications.

I went for the mate 20x for these reasons :
Beautiful 7.2 inch screen with no interruption aside from a tiny notch.
No useless curves.
It's smooth and fast.
Supports a normal sized pen and it has some fast tricks for notes that I love as an architect.
The cameras are good enough.
It's symmetrical design ( ocd)
The storage is way more than I ever need.
I love the IR blaster I use it daily
The speakers are phenomenal
Watching Netflix on here is so damn awesome.
Mine came with the pen and the flip case plus the one in the box which I like.
To me it was the cheapest option compared to the note 9 and the oneplus 7 pro { which both has useless curved screen)
I am a screen fanatic and tbh I love the screen on here.
You won't go wrong with the mate 20x

Very good positives noted in favor of the Mate 20x most of which I also agree with.
I had a OnePlus 7 pro, and by the grace of God I would have kept that device if it weren't for the overly aggressive on the verge of offensive curved edges.

I would recommend mate 30 pro, i know it's not in the list, but if I want to buy new phone I will certainly buy mate 30 pro even Google issue is not 100% resolved, simply because it great phone.
I managed to get a Mate 20 Pro for £152 brand new from O2. It's a great phone with everything you could ever want and will only get better with EMUI 10. However I found the fingerprint sensor very temperamental and I rely on it for banking apps and last pass. Also I found the screen a bit on a small side although it's 6.4 inches it's noticeably much smaller than my previous Note 9 which I sold on due to average camera and battery life. However, OneUI on the Note 9 is right up there with Oxygen OS and 'stock' in my opinion. Screen size was also spot on and speakers very good.
Now I'm using the Mate 20 X and it's a great phone, amazing screen and speakers and good battery life. I do miss the faster charging of the Mate 20 Pro and the lack of waterproofing and although the screen is very good, it's not 2k. There's always pluses and minuses with any phone.
I purchased two Huawei Mate 20 x EVR L29 phones, one for myself and one for my wife. They have been great phones and very useful as we have travelled throughout Europe and the United States. I love the large screen which allows us to clearly read articles on the Internet, E books, etc., However for daily use I'm beginning to find my phone just a bit too heavy. It is often nearly hanging out of my shirt pocket and it becomes slightly uncomfortable after more than an hour of using it to read with. For that reason I have purchased as Samsung Galaxy Note 10 plus which I will carry as my daily phone. I will list my Mate 20 x for sale while keeping my wife's Mate 20 x for travelling. The Note 10+ is a good phone and practical for daily use, but it doesn't come close to the big screen experience of the Mate 20 x.

YouTube will be your friend but I'd say this. Is QHD important to you vs the full HD screen that is on the 7T? If you ask me you will not tell the difference. Will a tear drop notch bother you vs no notch like what is found on the 7 Pro?
Curved display vs flat display. Curved display looks good (to me) but it shows glare when you're using it in sunlight. The 7t charges faster than the 7 Pro due to the new 30T charging technology vs the older 30 charger found in the 7 Pro. To me the most important factor is do you prefer 128gb vs 256gb storage?
For my personal use I think the 7T is the all around better phone. I don't care for a curved display, I actually like having a dedicated front facing camera vs the pop-up cam, I prefer the faster charging but envy the larger 256gb found on the 7 Pro. If you're anything like me then save the money and get the 7T.

@ OuncE718 Thank you for your input. And, answer your questions, really I don't know what you're asking. I like watching movies on my phone but that pretty much it. As for the storage size, it doesn't matter much for me, though I do like a good battery life. I want a new phone because the phone I have now is a little slow, LG-G6, it's okay but I want something new and unlocked. Also, it doesn't have to be the ones I listed if there something better than them, thanks
Take a look at this comparison on gsmarena. What I would say is, if money is not a problem then get the 7T Pro, and if it's the opposite 7T will be sufficient.

He means screen resolution. QHD is 2k, 1440p. FHD is 1080p
I also can't tell any difference myself . I think you'd be happy with the 7t
OnePlus 7T is best if you don't want to spend much or under budget constraints as well as if you want latest specs(SD 855+) and warp charge 30T.
Go for OnePlus 7 pro if you want a phone with premium appearance like infinity display (similar to latest Samsung Galaxy devices) as well as if you want pop-up camera and horizon light(since there is no notification light in 7T) and also if you want qHD display as well as 4000 mAh battery. But 7 Pro costs a little more and there is no difference in camera department.
I must warn you. I've just returned my oneplus 7T due to green tint on the upper part of the screen. Many devices are affected of this flaw. Please google about it and potential hw/software issues before you make your decision. (i recomend revuew on androidpolice) It looks like oneplus 7t pro has higher quality panel than regular 7t(i am not talking about screen resolution).
I keep hearing about this issue and I wonder if it does not affect the tmobile 7t cause I don't have that issue
I see the green tint "issue" but it only appears under real low light. I don't see it under normal lighting conditions. It doesn't bother me at all.
To be honest I never noticed it until I saw this post.

7T or 7 Pro?

After a year with the exynos s10+, I want to come back to OP.
I can't decide between the 7T and 7 Pro.
From what I know:
-7t has better battery and brightness
-7 Pro has 1440p
-7T is lighter and less bulky
-7 Pro has a pop up camera while the 7t has a tear drop a la 6T.
-7 pro has more custom roms and twrp while 7T has the rom I like most: renovate
-7t has a weird round protruding camera while the 7 pro has (way too) curved display.
So now I am lost, neither is the obvious choice.
Anyone has both or switched from one to another?
Curved display is horrid on pro I went to 7t from pro only reason not getting a 8

You wont notice any difference
In my experience the super high resolution displays are better when using the phones in VR headset. I tried watching VR contents in my friend's 7 Pro and I can see the difference when is watching the same VR content in my 7T. But I couldn't find any difference when using both phones for usual activities. In my option there's no need to buy 7 Pro for just the resolution thing.

I was a VR junkie before, now not at all, it's normal you will see a difference because VR lenses zoom like x5.
So for everything else we won't see a difference specially if we don't have perfect eyesight.
What about root?
Is it easy to root, flash a custom rom and update fw?
I grabbed the 7T for less than $500. Better battery. The teardrop camera, don't even notice it.
And, I don't even bother using the 90hz screen. I prefer the 60hz for battery life. I can't tell the
difference between the two, other than benchmark programs.
7 Pro has also renovate, it's what the dev own.
But I'd say 7 Pro if you care about custom ROMS and TWRP.
I got the Pro originally but hated the curved screen and all the reflections, yuck.
Got the 7T and it's great. Thought the teardrop notch would annoy but it doesn't - in fact it helps to see which way is up!

Did you feel the 7 Pro was more "premium"?
What about battery, which one has better battery life?

They seem equally premium to me. I only had the Pro for a day so can't comment on the battery.

Idk about the pro but this was with my 7T latest oos version with a custom kernel name Blu spark. Of course it will all depend on your usage.
7t. Its hard to look for a tempered glass for 7 pro. Moving camera is another thing that can break overtime.
I took a 7 pro in the end, I couldn't bare the water drop selfie cam
OnePlus 7T
I would go with OnePlus 7T, you don't notice the screen resolution difference. The biggest thing is to have 90Hz display, which both phones have. I don't know, the Motorized camera on the pro is worrisome. Even when looking at the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, I would prefer the 7T for the cheaper price and great performance.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your 7T?
