Question about the Pixel 3 XL's Architecture - Google Pixel 3 XL Questions & Answers

Hello together,
I currently usw a nexus 6 (resurrection remix).
This month i probably will get a new phone and I'm thinking about an Pixel 3 Xl. Now often download apps from different sources and with the nexus 6 I alway picked the armv7a apk when downloading the file. The pixel 3 xl has 64bit if im correct.. do I have to choose the arm64-v8a apk with the pixel 3 xl then? Often there are apks with only armv8a but not arm64-v8a.. is that the same? And is it backwards compatible, like can I use the apks that I used on my nexus with armv7 on my pixel 3 xl with arm64 when I get it? Hope you understand what I mean, English is not my fist language.
Thank you in advance,

Anamorphic lens for Google pixel 2 xl

I am interested in mobile film making and recently bought a Google pixel 2 xl . What couldn't find is an anamorphic lens adapter compatible with the device like the moondog 1.33x for the Apple I phone devices. I want to know if there's any such device for the Google pixel 2 xl. There are videos with pixel 2 using the same adapter but without much technical deltas.

I only know the Moment one will work when it comes out.

Giving up Samsung s9 plus for pixel 2 xl

Should I be doing this swap?
Did anybody do the same?
I like pixel's smoothness and animations but I can't say that I am not satisfied with Samsung. It's a solid device with very nice screen, camera and stereo speakers.
It is only that there is a one month old pixel available and I am tempted.
Still enjoy stock Android that's why I am using my Nexus sometimes

Unless it's a super great deal or you really hate the notch, I would wait for the Pixel 3 XL. I always get phones within the 1st month release to enjoy the lastest and greatest for as long as possible. The Pixel 2 XL about to hit 1 year and is a step backwards from the S9 in terms of specs too.

I have swaped from s9 to oneplus 6 than to Pixel 2xl ,Thats The best choice i have done
I'm happy with Pixel 2 XL just because I get updates faster and because I absolutely love stock Android. For the rest, Pixel 2 XL costs too much for what it offers. Not a great audio, not great battery management, display has black crush (and it's not even HDR), the package lacks of USB to connect to a computer and so on. I'd stick to S9 Plus unless I'd prefer stock Android (maybe you can root and install a ROM?).
Pixel 2 XL does better photos
The P2XL camera is phenomenal...

True
Besides if that, i had the s9 plus before the Pixel 2 XL camera is better on Pixel same as software and updates..
S9+ has a very good display better battery life micro SD port...
Pixel 2 XL for sure. I switched from an iPhone 7 Plus and wish I would've done so last year when the 2 XL came out. Pure Android is so nice without all the Samsung crap.

Fairphone Open OS

Has anyone looked into building this for the Pixel 3XL? I've tried my hand at building stuff but it never works.

This is Android Lollipop. Not even worth the time IMO to build such a dated version of Android

Un-google

Is it possible to un-google the pixel 3 xl with any of the roms in the Pixel 3 XL section?
Thanks
I think they are all built with pixelapps included. You would have to build one and exclude the pixelapps.

Android 14 DP/Beta (UpsideDownCake) port for Pixel 3 XL?

Is it possible for the developer preview/beta version of Android 14 to be ported onto Pixel 3 XL from a more recent Pixel device (e.g. Pixel 7 or Pixel 6 or Pixel 5)? It would be greatly appreciated

I believe the Pixel 3 should be capable of running a Generic System Image, so it would be unnecessary to port the firmware. It doesn't look like a GSI is available for 14DP yet but I imagine you could potentially use the system.img out of the update package for a more recent Pixel.
