Want Big Games on GPad using external? (Solved)

Used Folder Mount app and you can now store games on your external just follow the steps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192122
Hit Thanks if this helps
Folder mount lets you mount 3 folders and doesnt let you mount obb files unless you pay for the full version. GL2SD is free.
+1 for Folder Mount. Reason being is that it's not just for games. Can be used for any large folder and is extremely easy to use. Yes it does require you to upgrade to premium for more than 3 folders but it's only $1.99. Also developer is still active and responsive on the forums. It had an issue initially with the G PAD that didn't allow updates via Play. Reported it to him and he quickly fixed it.
This was the biggest flaw with the g pad 8.3 for people like me who like to play games on there tablet. A few big ones installed and the internal storage would be almost completely filled up and you can't install apps by default to the sd card making the 64ghost I bought meaning less. But luckily this app exist I'm only using the free version to move my biggest game over for now but I think I will get premium.

gl2sd is a better solution for this purpose..

this is not an issue of gpad, google changed this in newer versions of android so that you can not install games or apps to sd card. But luckily we have root and mounting apps

Does anyone tried this method?

I believe that change mentioned in the article you linked just makes it so that apps can write to the SD card, but doesn't force an app/game/etc. to do so. This hack that the OP is talking about seems to allow linking of any path on the internal storage to external SD (or at least most). Pretty interesting.

Asus vivotab rt storage

I currently have a SanDisk 64gig micro sd card in my Asus vivotab rt- ive read that only up to 32gig is supported. Is there any possible issues that can arise from doing this? Or should I just be glad that things have been good so far?

Should probably use exfat, SDXC has some issues in fat32 like loss of data.

Ok thanks, how would I go about making that happen? Or would it be easier for me to research it myself and go from there?

Just put it in any Windows machine, right-click -> Format in Explorer, and choose exFAT instead of FAT32 or whatever.
With that said, I've had absolutely no problem using 64GB microSD cards with FAT32. There's one in my phone right now, and another in my tablet. FAT32 is an old (~1995) and simple format, and it's got limitations (no single file can be bigger than 4GB, for example), but it works and the support for it is extremely broad. ExFAT is a new version, and while all SDXC devices are supposed to support it, in practice I'm not sure how true that is. It shouldn't really matter either way, though.
Heck, if you want to, you could format the card with NTFS. You lose a bit of space due to the extra metadata, but you can the ability to encrypt individual files on the card, set access controls (the "Security" tab of file/folder properties), create symbolic links and junctions, store really huge files, and (possibly most important) you also gain journaling so that if the card is disconnected or loses power during a write, the file system doesn't get corrupted. Not saying you *should* use NTFS, just that you could...

verizon g pad (vk810) apps to the sd card

I put a 8gb sd acard in my g pad. I can see the card in the file explorer and can move files to it in general, however i cannot move any apps to it. Is everyone else having this issue or has anyone found a workaround?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount
You can't move apps to sd, but you can move, mirror, and patch game files from android/obb and android/data too your sd card. I gained like 4.5GB from moving files. Creates a simlink, making your tablet think the files are still really on the device.
That is incredibly annoying. Very ready for a custom ROM now.
Thanks for the tip

If you think we have that in CM 11 on our V500, you're wrong. We don't, and it's a feature I also really want. Don't know about the LG skin roms though

That sucks so bad
I have a LG gpad 8.3 and i just go to storage it shows internal and sd. Well i went to app manager an clicked on all the biggest apps. And it says move to sd card? It worked. Saved several gigs of internal memory. Then when go back to them apps it shows move to tablet? So its obviously moving mine to the sd card. Maybe it's cuz the new 5.1 lollipop software update i dont know. But Goodluck to all.

Slow SD Card speed

Hi,
I recently bought a Lexar 633x 128GB SD Card that is rated at 95Mbps. Formatted with Android exFAT, the card shows only 20Mbps in Android but in Windows, the same partitioned card shows 96Mbps. I therefore suspect that the problem lies in the cellphone' software or its compatibility with exFAT extension. I have no option to format other than exFAT with Android. I have tried ext4 with TWRP but Android will not detect or mount it even with the mount command.
Any ideas on how I can get the right speed out of the card?
p.s: I am running the latest 2.19.40.22 firmware for ZE551ML
Have you tried formatting to fat32? You'll need to download a program separately to do that on windows
Hello,
FAT32 does not support filesystems larger than 32GB from what I have read. Windows only gives me the exFAT option. Is there a modded tool to bypass this limit?
Is ext4 faster for large files sequetial read?
thanks
EDIT: I found the utility and it works ok under windows but it freezes the cellphone after I insert the card.
@aziz07 hmm, what software did you use to format it? I used this. http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm I always felt fat32 was more stable on my Android device. It doesn't freeze my phone though my sd is 64gb
EDIT: actually, I just did some benchmarks and it looks like it does only read around 20mbps, regardless of the SD I use.
What are you using to test speed? I have a 64gb Evi and sometimes music stutters a but over Bluetooth. Not sure if it's a slow card, a problem with power amp, or just something that happens with Bluetooth audio occasionally

Just a random SD card benchmark app lol (a1 SD card), I would say that is more likely to be a problem with Bluetooth because you don't need high speeds for audio playback.
Yes, I used the same format utility but my card is 128gb. I will try again. May I ask what allocation unit size did you use and what is the fastest one?
thanks
Edit: I used the default allocation size and it worked. Its because I changed it to highest value before. I don't know if A1 app ratings are real for read but it shows 201mbps read and 47mbps write. I manually copied a 800mb file and speed was 48-62mbps write. For sure, its caching in RAM somehow to achieve 201mbps read. I guess the 20mbps was surpassed as I was getting ~12mbps write before. Worked A+
Try reformating the card. Whats the make of the sd card?
I had kernel mods applied long time ago though. ZRAM at 1Gb, noop scheduler with 2048Kb read ahead.
I like FAT32 because its the most compatible and the fastest for flash memory from benchmarks.
You guys using the 128gb card show all ur space on phone? Asus was telling me it will only show 64gb.

Same here. Yes, eventhough its advertised as 64gb sd card limit, 128gb cards work perfectly. The thing with FAT32 is the 4Gb file limit, many HD movies or high bandwith video shootings will require >4Gb files. I am still not able to mount ext4 formatted sdcards though. TWRP would recognize but not Android ...

Sorry I completely forgot to check back on this thread. I'm glad to hear its working better with the default allocation size, I think I probably changed it to the highest as well because after formating with the default size as well its working great .

Move Apps to SD. LG G4 Android 6.0

Hi, I recently bought my LG G4. Android updated after the lollipop to Androi m.
the problem is that, after doing this, I can not move my applications from the internal memory, micro SD
I tried to APP MGR 3 application and does not work me.
I wonder if there is any method to move my applications from the internal memory, micro SD, in my Android Lg g M
Thanks in advance.
PS: Sorry for my bad English, I'm Chilean haha
I want to know how to do this too
Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
Can't find it either. But wasn't that option almost completely useless anyway? When you moved an app, say Monument Valley for example which has about 271mb, it would only move the app itself (~50.88mb) to the external storage but still leave the application data on the internal storage. Great, I won fifty megabytes of free space! That's two raw images worth of space.
Better than nothing, somwyimes you can't even update a 5mb app if the phone say it's full!
