Question about enabling built-in call recorder - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Good evening. Someone gave me a tip about using a paid software called SamKey to change my CSC. Can someone help me out? Another thing I found was that I can edit some xml lines via root and enable it. Thing is, I want to enable the call recording but I don't want to keep my phone rooted.

You do not need to root or something else to record phone calls. Note 10+ has built-in phone calls recording capabilities. You just have to enable it in your phone app settings.

Only in some regions, mainly far eastern Asian countries.
Plenty of 'XDA' threads discuss this, for the unlucky ones, change of 'CSC' or 'root' is the ONLY option.

I see, thank you, i didn't think about this.

Hi, if you have rooted your device then you can install custom firmware that have the call recoding option. Try Dr. Katen's rom or Lighrom. they are the best.

Call Recording app needed...

I have purchased the CallRecorder (from skvalex), the program can be trigger by a phone call, but it did not record anything.
we will have to wait for the kernel dev's to see if they can come up w/ a patch.
bought callrecorder too.
Google Voice lets you record calls.
i'm aware of that.
but there are humans outside of the US that got the galaxy nexus as well.
has anyone tried total recall from killermobile.com
they have solutions for the gs2, so am wondering if it may work for the gn?

I have tried their Total Recall. It records only caller's side like all other call recording apps I tried.
EDIT:
Just noticed what I wrote here. I meant your side (side of the person who installed the app.).
Ill wait for one to be included in a custom rom.
Had it on one of the Darky 9.0 roms back on the i9000. Worked great.
Desperately desires this as well...
Will we receive kernel with 2way recording included?
Anyone has a clue if this could be eventually solved with enabling some feature in kernel config, or is this actually firmware or hardware issue?
Almost sure it is not so simple to be solved with simple kernel recompilation... But since I am pretty new here (android land), I hadn't enough time to get know things, evaluate enviroment etc.
I'd also love to have the call recorder from skvalex working on this. I'm holding off on getting the GN until this feature works.
Work in progress... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1422779

n900t native Video Calling not work

Hi guys,
I have N900t with Stok N9005 Rom & Complusion Kernel & Wifi/NFC/Blutooth Fix.
Everyting works perfect without NATIVE (GSM) Video Calling.
How Can I Fix it?
I tried " Xnote 5 Transformers Rom" but Didnt works...
how are you getting the option to video call?

International ROMs have the option. I'm running Echoe ROM and have the video call button to the left of the standard call button on the dialer and also on contact pages.
If I try to place a video call, it brings up the video calling screen with options to switch camera or hide me, and says dialing, but then fails and asks if I'd like to try a voice call instead. I'm not sure if it fails because T-Mobile doesn't allow it, or if it's because the other party doesn't have native video calling (I don't think I know anyone who does).
OP, if you'd like to PM me, I can give you my number to see if it works between two parties with native video calling. At least that way we could determine whether or not it's a network limitation.

[Q] Anyone using call recording app ?

Hello Everyone,
I just want to know that Galaxy S6 is working fine with any android call recording app or not ?
Please let me know if any guy use total recall call recorder on same device.
Thanks in advance !!
Thanks for your spam, but the built-in recording works just fine.
Built-in recording doesn't record your calls that's what I think he's looking for
Callrecorder works fine..... As long as you are not on wifi calling. I spent a good few hours with it. You need to set a delay of 2 seconds on incoming and outgoing and your calls will work. By default if you have wifi calling enabled the call will drop as soon as the connection is established.

Once you're rooted, add this line to feature.xml, save it and reboot.

Well I suppose I have been looking for a reason to root this phone. Guess this is it. And you can confirm that it does in fact record calls that are made over wifi? Also does it record all calls by default, or do you have to manually record each call?

Thanks

I have not yet found anything that will work when on wifi calling. Almost all of the call recording apps in the app store that support voice up link or voice communication seem to work for normal calling however.

Call Recording on Pixel 2 XL?

Hey guys, has anyone found a successful way to get call recording on the Pixel 2 XL? All the apps look like they're working but if you play them back it only has the Pixel 2 out going voice recorded--the other side of the conversation (the person you're call or received a call from) is not recorded. Anyone find a way around this or an app that is successful? I loved ACR on my other phones but it won't work on Pixel 2 XL.

This was a deal breaker for me as call recording is significant to my work. I ended up returning the Pixel 2 and going back to my LG V20 and am much happier.

Yes, I am rooted, but not using the root method of recording. I'm using the 'android' method. It should work without root.
EDIT: yeah, I just checked. The root method is not even checked and is grayed out. Also, using the AMR audio format.

Ok. Yeah it does not work for me now, but it was before! I used Titanium backup to restore my data and it was fine. But then there was an issue with playing back files from the app. So I reset the options and still assumed it was working. Anyhow, I am now using the root method of recording and that appears to be the only method that works. Sorry for the misinformation
I'm using call recorder from skvalex. It's a paid app but it works perfectly with root. You can install the app from the play store but you have to download the root module from XDA site. It has a 7 day free trial.

+1. I switched to ACR from total recall and it's way better! Also works without root. Well, I'm rooted, but the app does not prompt, nor does their seem to be a setting to even grant root. Works perfectly though. Here are my settings...
Just to update, I put the audio source to Voice_Comunication
And the other side of call is clearer.
been playing with settings before posting hope you find the same is true?

Thanks again ...
Hello guys, it seems it doesn't work on Android P. According to ACR devs it won't work on the official release version either.. Do you have any working alternatives on Android P?
I have the Lifetime sub for Parrot and was excited to try out the Call Recording, but it's doing the same thing, only recording my side of the calls. I also have it set to Voice Communication but nope, Android P doesn't like call recording. It's a luxury for me, so not a huge issue, but thought it would be nice to record important calls so I can review them / make notes / reminders later, etc... Back to the good ole' notepad and pen nearby routine, lol.
+1 for ACR !
Only issue is, once in a while - it doesn't record the other end of the call. Only my end.
It's totally random, and sometimes pretty messed up if it misses an important call.
I'm using the Call Recorder app from F Droid, works great, use aac under encoding and I'm able to hear both voices.
ACR works fine on Oreo, unfortunately on P it does not, nor will it due to Google/Android P restricting access to microphone on third party apps.
I've got Pixel 2 XL, Android P and just tried ACR with the settings from the screen shot in earlier post and it works fine, records both sides.
Hmmmm, strange that it's working on Android P as Google in their official statement has stated that going forward ( From Android P ) their will not a non-root method of call recording. Search google its everywhere.
Using OP5

Can't switch duo for native video calling.

Android 10, unlock bootloader on T-Mobile.
I have never install Google duo on my phone; now every time I try to video call someone on T-Mobile, this duo want to place the video call.
When people try to video call me, I'm listed as not having video call capacity.
Anyways to get TMobile video calling feature to work again?
I'm not on T-Mobile but is there another way to use T-Mobile video chat other than through the dialer? There's no separate app? And I'm guessing no possibility of getting people to switch to Duo right?
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
Maybe try downloading and installing Duo (and/or another video calling app like Viber or Tango), then attempt to video call someone, and hopefully the OS will request/ask which video calling app to use, and you can say "Always" to the T-Mobile stock video calling app. Or, if that doesn't work, you can go to Duo's App Info and make sure to clear its "defaults". Worse case scenario is, since you have the ability to be rooted, clear the data of the T-Mobile stock video calling app and maybe it will re-initialize itself, or using something like Titanium Backup (or even manually through a root capable file explorer) and remove the T-Mobile stock video calling app, then re-install it or find an external .apk and use that to install...
Good luck and hope this helps...
Thank you for your reply,
I'll try downloading duo then making sure it's not the default application.
Just want to report..
