problem with lockscreen notifications, screen not wake up - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

Hello,
I have a issue on the lockscreen, when receive new notifications the lockscreen don't wake up to show the new notifications. I have ambiant display enabled with the correct settings. Running latest oxygen oos.
Any help appreciated to fix this issues.
Regards ysco..

Here is what helps for most users:
HERE'S THE FIX:
CULPRIT: Proximity Sensor.
LOCATION: Just below the Front Camera. If you Flash a bright LED light you would see 2 small sensors on the screen itself.
HOW TO: Whenever your Ambient Display stops working-
1. Just turn off the display by pressing the power button once.
2. Now take a bright LED light, preferably use another smartphone's LED Flashlight.
3. Just bring the light close to the proximity sensor (1-2mm away) and hold it for 4-5 seconds, then turn on the display by pressing the power button then turn it off. Repeat this 2-3 times.
You will notice that the double tap to wake and raise to wake feature starts working again.
Well mine did 3 out of 3 times.
It's basically the issue of the proximity sensor that need recalibration.
I hope someone from the OnePlus team is reading this and does the needful to fix this issue once and for all.
Till then keep trying my LED flashlight method to reactivate the Ambient Display.

Hello mate,
Thx for the reply but as mentioned I have a 7t that doesn't have the proximity sensor anymore?
AOD works but the notifications are not light up the lockscreen when receive them on the lockscreen. With or without AOD enabled.

Ambient sensor

Is there any way to calibrate the light sensor? It works when under direct light from a strong lightsource.
Sometimes when im getting calls, it just get stuck, and keep locking the screen.
And it never works other then under a lamp, for example.
If its not possible, can i turn it off permanently?
you are confusing Ambient light sensor with proximity sensor. (they are both built into the same unit)
They are both located approximately 1cm left of the htc-logo-right-under-the-earpiece
Ambient light sensor is responsible for autobrightness.
Proximity sensor is responsible for checking if anything is close to the earpiece(your ears during calls)
proximity sensor turns on an extremely dull-red light(infra-red) which may not be visible to some people (you can see it clearly through another phone camera)
About your first problem you can simply look in the market for an Autobrightness app and turn off system autobrightness(you can choose what brightness at what sensor reading)
About your second problem it seems its a bug, probably in most cases i've seen in this forum caused by Viber app (or any other data-calling apps), either try uninstalling those apps or choose in their settings not to control normal phone calls and proximity sensor.
Give feedback if it works
O and yeah, this have been "working" with venomrom, simply pressing power button, to turn screen on, mostly,
But now when i installed CM10, I simply cant turn screen on, by pressing the power button, so i have to turn off the device.
There are 2 different sensors that you're talking about. Ambient light sensor and proximity sensor. The proximity sensor turns off the screen completely when you're in a call and it senses your head up against the phone. The ambient light sensor will only chance the screen brightness. You can tweak values for the screen brightness but not that I'm aware for the proximity sensor (turning the screen off completely).

That "screen of death" problem is only with the latest builds of CM10 as far as i know. If you go back to a beta / sense ROM you should stop getting these. Nightlies will always have these kind of bugs.
Alright, what im meant is the Proximity sensor. This happend after my phone got a new screen from repairment. (Dont wanna sent it back, way to slow)
When i start a phonecall, the screen goes off, and during that call i cant get the screen back on. Have to longpress the power button, to reboot the device
And now the device is completely fresh installed with CM10
I had the same problem after a repair. Thought it was just a bad install but the problem was persistent. Even on other Roms. It was a hw problem. Hopefully for you its not that.

(Q) How to Check if Ambient Light Sensor is working?

Hi Guys I just wanted to know if Ambient Light Sensor is working or Not, As I have enabled Developer Options and in that when I press Manufacturer Tab then I see the Hardware Testing.
When I press Ambient Light Sensor it shows 0.0 , is it same for everyone or just me?
Also How can I test that Ambient Light Sensor is working or not?
Thanks and Regards

It's highly directional. If you're in a dim room, it will sit at zero until you aim it at a light. It's not very sensitive in low light, but past some threshold it will jump up. If you can't get it to change when you shine a light on it, I think you've got a problem.
Working for me in my office ...depending on whether I cover the light/lamp or not the ambient light sensor reading is changing...even when I just tilt the watch a bit....I am on 5.0.2...never checked before...

lockscreen notification sound and proximity sensor

On my A2 lite (global) I have two issues:
1. When the phone is in standby (lockscreen on) I don't get any notification sound (the display goes on, but no sound at all)
2. When I pick up a phone call, the display doesn't go blank (with the result that I press a lot of buttons with my cheek)
Any solutions?
Thanks in advance
I have the same problem. Couldn't find any solution. What color is your phone?

I have the second problem and in my case it activates mute several times, what i noticed when we talk over the phone and we touch the fingerprint sensor by mistake, screen starts to response even proximity is working. Its annoying

Ambient Display problem.

So here is the thing,
Yesterday before going to sleep, tap to ambient display was working without a problem. Today the tap to ambient wakeup doesn't work at all. D2W was always turned off. I didn't install anything and my device is not rooted as well. What could be the problem?
EDIT : Found the solution on OP forums.

Question Pixel 6 pro screen won't wake up in the dark

My screen/display won't wake when I pick up my phone and tap on the screen with my finger in the dark. I have to press the power button to wake it up. Both "Tap to check phone" and "Lift to check phone" are On. Has anyone else seen this problem?
Pocket detection with proximity & light sensors giving you a false positive in the dark
Thanks miravision, do you know any fixes for this? Or this is just what it is...
Having the same thing
Bedtime Mode & DnD deactivate a host of features, like AoD and other sensors. Did you check if those are active whenever you face these issues?
Both are off.
Just saw this in the list of issues fixed in the December update, hopefully this is reason.
Fix for issue preventing lift to wake and double tap to wake in certain conditions *[1].
Fix for issue preventing Always-on-display from turning on in certain conditions *[1].
