Clearer, more persistent notification when I forget my phone. - Samsung Galaxy Watch

I would love to have a setting or an app that gives a clearer and more persistent message on my watch (not on my phone of course) when I accidentally leave my phone behind.
On Android Wear os it shows the "Did you forget your phone?" message with clear sound. It also had an acceptable delay before vibrating.
For me my watch served me very well for this problem.
On Tizen just two short vibes and no text popping up. Not enough for me.
There was also an app on Wear os, called "feel the wear" for more vibrating options.
Really miss it. I forget my phone all the time.
I left Wear os a few days ago but start forgetting my phone again.
(I changed my Tickwatch pro with an active 2 and am very happy though.)

At last.. found the BRRR app in the galaxy store and set the vibration on five times.
Nothing appears on display from BRRR, but there is a relatively useless widget.
For autostart after reboot I think the widget has to be active.

Use cases with the Moto 360

Let's discuss how we use this watch so that we can share ideas with each other to further increase our experiences with it.
1) obviously notifications. I really like the fact that I don't have to pull out my phone to check every notification. I look at them on my watch and I can dismiss the ones that aren't important or choose to take out my phone if it is a notification that needs immediate attention.
2) I play Ingress, so getting portal attack notifications or comm message notifications are really handy. I can then decide if I want to pull out my phone to recharge the portals or simply dismiss the notifications.
3) speech to text is awesome. When people text me, I can reply by voice which it sends through my hangouts. One thing I noticed is that when I say 'OK Google', I don't have to wait for the prompt to show up to issue my command. I simply say all at once, "OK Google send text to (name) mobile." The animation catches up, then waits for my message which then I say what my message is.
Especially handy when I'm driving since I can still read the watch while I have my hands on the steering wheel at the 10 & 2 positions to make sure it got what I said.
I get many different hangouts notifications from different recipients so it's nice that I can pick which message I want to on my watch, then respond to them by voice all from my watch.
4) navigation is really helpful. I can now start Google maps navigation and get turn by turn alerts on my watch while running Ingress on my phone so I can still collect XM while driving and not miss out on navigation instructions.
The notification vibrates on my watch and lights up with the instruction, and even though I'm in the Ingress app, I still get the voice prompts from my phone which tells me to "stay on the second lane from the right" which the watch doesn't show. It only shows me that I need to make a right turn at such and such street. Really handy.
5) I'm very forgetful so before i got the watch, I set reminders with time and dates on my phone. But now, I can simply say "OK Google set a reminder for tomorrow at 12:00 pm to wish mom a happy birthday" all from my watch.
6) I installed the Pebble Locker app which allows me to make my watch a trusted Bluetooth device so I can bypass my lock screen code. And when my phone gets too far away from me (if someone were to steal it), the Bluetooth connection gets disconnected and locks my phone automatically.
These are just a few of my use cases where it's been incredibly helpful to not constantly pull out my phone from my pocket.
What are yours?

I can control my Chromecast from the watch. I'm watching a movie through Google play and I have playback controls.

Mine controls the lights, garage door, nest, alarm, and fireplaces with voice commands. Besides moto360 and android wear, also needed autovoice, tasker, xposed framework, ifttt, homeseer, and zwave.

Awesome. I wish I could do that.

For that Pebble Locker app, can you shorten the distance the phone will lock?
I.e. the Moto 360 Bluetooth range is pretty far and I don't want the phone to be still in its unlocked state if I wonder 25 ft away from the phone.

No, I don't see an option for that in the app.

What I hate about navigation on the watch is that starting it will turn on the screen on my phone. If I need walking direction and the phone is on my pocket, this will burn a lot battery and the phone is prone to accidental touches.

Yeah I noticed that also. So knowing that, I just turn my phone screen off before putting it in my pocket.

This creates extra steps for me:
1. Say "Ok, Google. Navigate to Starbucks"
2. Get phone out of my pocket
3. Wait till routing calculations is done
4. Turn off screen
5. Put phone back in pocket
Kinda defeat the hands free feature of Android Wear, isn't it? [emoji12]

I also play Ingress and I have had attack notifications off since i got my Black Gaurdian long ago, but i turned them back on the day i got my 360 and i love seeing them pop up. I can hit "Open on Phone" and when i pull the phone out of my pocket Ingress is already loading/loaded so i can recharge and/or @ the attacker in Comm.

One thing that annoys me, and this is more of a google now problem, is the card that shows up for an hour before reminders. I wish there was a way where you can either keep it from showing up early at all, or at least make it 10 min or something. For most reminders, I don't need it to cover my watch face for an hour and if I swipe it away I don't even get reminded at the correct time. Has anyone else noticed this?

I rather use Any.do for reminders but I won't be able to set it as a default app. At least I don't think.
I got my Moto 360 yesterday and tried my primary use case this morning. Wife and I run marathons and like many (some? ) runners we obsess over our stats. We've been using Garmin 410s to record our runs. My problem with that is that the pace is reports while running is really noisy - not useful for helping me to maintain my goal pace. The other issue is that the HRM gets bad readings later in my rn, probably because I perspire heavily. I got a bluetooth chest strap and it works great on my phone. But the phone is a relative PITA to use on runs. I have to keep it in a zip lock bag in a pocket and pockets are few in running gear. It's great to have an accessory on my wrist that can give me instant stats w/out digging my phone out of wherever I stowed it. Better yet, a tap on the phone starts recording when I'm ready to run, not before I stick my phone in my pocket. And when I'm done, the phone uploads my stats automatically.
good stuff

TIP: How to disable the "OK Google" toast

This has been covered in multiple threads but there seems to be a constant confusion on how these steps are actually performed. Here are the steps to disable the "OK Google" toast message on any Android Wear wearable with a stock face.
Notes:
- These steps were performed on a freshly reset/paired watch. I thought I captured the "paired" message but was too slow.
- Apparently I can't say "OK Google" without sounding like I'm also eating a banana. Sorry.
1. Once you've paired your watch and have access to the clock, speak, "OK Google".
2. Clear the "listening" microphone screen with a swipe.
3. Turn your display off.
4. Turn your display on again and repeat until the message goes away (should be 5 times).

This works for me, but only for a day or so. Since I don't use the command all that often (since apparently I only have a speech impediment when I speak to Google), is there ANY way of disabling this permanently? I'll root my watch (LG G Watch R - they have to figure out a better name for that), I'll ROM it, whatever. I just use a very minimal (like Movado minimal) face and the ok Google appearing or me having to day ok Google a bunch of times every day is really, really grating on my nerves.

some patterns i've noticed:
- when you change watch faces it comes back
- when an update is pushed, it comes back (watch or android wear)
i haven't noticed that it comes back without one of these occurring.

I've had the same face on for weeks, and it was last updated weeks/months ago.

[Q] How do I prevent the SAME notifications from constantly showing up?

So I did a bunch of searching and either I am in the wrong place, or no one else seems to have this problem, but I am seeing the same notifications showing up on my Moto 360 over and over even after I dismiss them. For example, I will get the Google Now scores for sports events (some for teams I couldn't care less about) popping up over and over and over again even after I swipe them away. They are not even real notifications on my phone - so not sure why they are popping up in the first place. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
You have to go into Google Now on your phone and configure the card settings there. Should be options to no longer see cards you're not interested in, or tweak their content. Otherwise it will periodically update phone & watch with cards - this is just how the service works.
Personally I leave it turned off completely as the benefits are meagre vs demands it makes on phone & watch power. There are more efficient ways of keeping yourself updated on the info you need when you need it, IMHO.

Thanks for the reply. So even if I dismiss the notification on the watch, and there is NO notification in the notification tray on the phone, it is expected that I still constantly receive card notifications on the watch? That seems broken to me...

Ok, I got that, but again, my problem is not that the initial notification shows up, it's that once I swipe it away it keeps coming back. I suppose that's an issue with Google Now though and not the watch.
You are not alone.
I'm having the same issue.
Moto 360 4.4W.2 - Wear Mini Launcher
Moto X (2013) 4.4.4 - Google Now Launcher.
I'm almost certain that those launchers are doing it. Days ago I had a friends's birthday notification poping over and over again, it would back to my watch face in like 5s after I had it dismissed, when i remove wear mini launcher all that stoped.
Today I installed it again, just for sake of testing, since is a very helpful software. The problem started again, but now with a amazon delivery notification, so im uninstalling it.

Sorry to rehash an old topic, but I'm having the same issue..
The card in question is to do with sport, and I do want to see the card so turning off isn't an option, but when I swipe it away I don't want it to come back!
Anyone found a solution?

Nope, it's the way Google Now does sport cards -- if a game is in progress, it sends you constant updates. Even if you swipe the update away, the next time anything changes, it'll just reappear, until the game / match is over (once you swipe away the card for a completed game it stays away, for me). I wish Now was more customizable.

Actually having exactly the same problem and it is specifically with sports cards. LG G3 (Verizon) 5.1 and G Watch R. I'll swipe a sports card away (last game score, next game time, etc.) and it will be back within a few minutes. Very irritating.

And once again my notification settings are ruined!

Getting really frustrated with the constant changing of how Android Wear notifications are handled.
When I first got my 360 the Do Not Disturb settings on the watch and the phone were completely independant. Neither would affect the other. It was perfect as I could actually make them do exactly what I wanted.
Then in 5.0? they linked them and ruined it. There was no way to have my watch vibrate without my phone also vibrating.
Then when my phone got Marshmallow it worked perfectly again if I put my phone in Alarms Only mode. The watch would vibrate and the phone wouldn't.
Now that my watch has updated to 6.0, the watch no longer vibrates or lights up.
Useless. Again.
Is there seriously no way to get notifications on my watch only!?
Please note that I do not want to use the "Mute phone alerts" setting in the Android Wear app, as it cannot be automated like Do Not Disturb settings can. My phone is set to automatically go into Alarms Only mode when I am at work or sleeping at night.
Yeah I agree with you, I was very disappointed when I updated to marshmallow.
There was a similar complaint on the Google product forums and the Google representative said it's working as intended.
They directed everyone to go to the android wear app and submit feedback about the issue.
I did, but any say I am optimistic Google will change anything.

Notification and Connection Issues; Smartwatch 3 Works Fine

I've had a Smartwatch 3 for a couple years without any issues. The watch connects without me doing anything, and notifications come through at the same time as my phone.
I bought a Huawei Watch Tuesday, went through the two system updates, and then did not receive notifications. A factory reset fixed that for about 36 hours.
Since then, I've done about 10 factory resets, tweaking settings in the Wear app and on the watch each time. Sometimes, I could get the watch to receive notifications temporarily. That would stop after an hour or so. Pushing one of the sample notifications from the Wear app doesn't work, but most of the time I can change the watch face from the Wear app. Other weird things:
-Sometimes the Wear app will show nothing. Not even give me options to add a device.
-When I click "Calling Setup" on the watch, sometimes it will ask me to give Message+ (the Verizon messaging app) permission. Whether I accept or not, it will eventually tell me the watch isn't connected to the phone (even though the Wear app says it is).
Today, I exchanged the watch, and am having the same issues (and the grey circle where the charging icon appears won't go away). I really, really want to be able to use this watch, so any help would be very much appreciated. Here's a quick rundown of what I've tried so far:
-Cleared Wear app data and cache.
-Removed Smartwatch 3 and Huawei watch from app thinking it might be confused with 2 in there. Re-added the Smartwatch 3 independently after this, and it still worked.
-Checked permissions on phone and watch.
-Removed Google Play Music playlist, thinking syncing may have been bogging it down.
-Switched default text apps.
-Uninstalled Wear app.
-Tried different Watchmaker faces.
Watch and phone (LG G3 on Verizon) are running Marshmallow.
Can you think of any experiments before I give up?
Uninstall Wear and re-install. Then resync and pair the watch again.
Thats all I can think of.
As an update, I cleared cache in each app on my phone individually and uninstalled non-essential Wear apps. This has notifications flowing normally.
However, if I disconnect the phone/watch for any reason, it takes hours for notifications to start coming in again.
Any thoughts on how to trigger notifications after reconnecting? Toggling the connection and options in the Wear app doesn't help. I can't figure out what eventually allows notifications again.

I think we're experiencing the same thing. I bet if you gave it a few hours, you would start to receive notifications. I wonder if this is an issue with the watch. Does anyone not experience this?
