mi fit app on Huawei phones - Xiaomi Mi Band 4 Questions & Answers

Hi
I received a Mi band 4 as a gift.
I was kinda skeptic not of Mi band but because I have a Huawei phone (P20 pro with android 9/pie) I know from experience how stupidly aggressive this phone is with apps. First thing i did was whitelisting mi fit on app launch to manually and let checked the other three toggles (let it run in background..)
Everything is fine until I start training with Mi band connected to the phone(for GPS purposes). After a while I get a Mi band notification that phone is offline despite the fact I have both almost side by side.
Sometimes it remains disconnected until I open Mi fit app, so I guess that Mi fit app is killed when it's draining some phone resources. I also can't discard the possibility of some Mi fit app bug but i suspect that is something to do with Huawei's "power genie" feature
I have no task killers besides the ones that comes with huawei phones.
Anyone having the same issues ?

[Q] MI band not pairing with phone

I got my MI band today and was really excited to get started with it. I made sure it had a good charge then tried to pair it with my phone, however it won't pair, however my phone detects the MI band in the general Bluetooth menu. I'm using a Asus Zenfone 2, any idea what the problem is? I've tried the official app and the modified ones and nothing seems to work

Is Xiaomi Mi 5s comparable to these smartphones ???

Hey , I'm about to buy a new smartphone and I'm wondering which smartphone will be the best for 300 bucks.
So what I want is a solid build smartphone ,weight doesn't bother me .A powerful CPU and sufficient RAM for Browsing internet,Watching Youtube, Social Media(Multitasking) and playing occasionnaly some games (asphalt,..) .A good Camera I don't care about low light or recording 4K videos I just want some Good Pictures ,more details and sharpness and accurate autofocus since I will use it for social media. And a durable Battery at least one day without charging !!! ; and a loud speakers not the loudest as the Axon 7 but at least audible.
After many searches I found that the Mi 5s is the best, but I heard that some users have encountered some problems with the fingerprint scanner , 4G connectivity , and battery draining too fast, and Problems with multitasking as the phone had to reload apps everytime , I dunno if it's a problem of some units or general.
But I also found these Smartphones : Leeco Le Pro 3, Leeco Le Max 2, Zuk Z2 , Honor 8 , ASUS Zenfone 3, Meizu Pro6, Huawei Honor V8 , Xiaomi Mi 5 , Zte Nubia 11 ,..., if u know something else in this price range please tell me.
So My Priorities are Performance , Camera , Solid Build , Battery , Audio .
Please Guys , tell me which smartphone can handle my needs ? is Mi 5s better than those listed above ?
PS: My Provider 4G bands are 800/1800/1600 Mhz
Thanks in advance.
I was in the similar position as you. I looked into it and came back with the conclusion that of all the Chinese phones, it's the software which a lot of reviews said was jut not as polished as miui. Coming from a nexus stock Android user experience I was a bit worried, but I was dead wrong. I love miui, it feels very nice. Has a similar notification drawer to LG. There were complaints against the mi5 build quality, so I ended ip with the mi5s (4/32 varient due to low price).
The fingerprint reader isn't as fast and magic as my nexus 5x but it's only a small nigle (I use trusted location). Not had any issues with it and an recommending it to my friends
With future updates miui will be polished more and more no worry...

First I was going to get the oneplus t3 but it's slighty to large. I love the oneplus bcs it's as close to stock android you can come without having to flash your own custom ROMs. But since I want a phone that is 5.0-5.5" I found the Mi 5s as a possible alternative.
questions:
1. Can I easily root this phone and flash a nougat ROM so I can use google play store?
To compare I'm currently on Sprint with a rooted HTC 10 running the VENOM ROM.
2. I'm switching to T-mobile where I was planning on using this the Mi5s. I travel abroad quite a bit, does the mi5s have all the bands for international travel?
3. Anything I would miss from my current HTC 10 or oneplus 3t if I make the switch?
Thanks!!
Xiaomi Mi6 will be released this month, you can wait Mi6.

Choosing a new phone

Hi,
I am looking for a phone, and I would like some advice to help me choose the right one.
I only use my phone to send/receive SMS/calls/emails. I also play (old) games while commuting. No Facebook, no social media, close to no browsing (occasionally, maybe once a month mainly to open links in emails)... which makes me think there is no need for a powerful phone.
I still don't want to buy a supermarket-and-cheap phone as I want something where I can install LineageOS/Cyanogenmod and upgrade "regularly" (every 2-3 years) to a recent version of Android. [I plan to keep my phone 5-10 years]
I also don't want a huge phone as they do nowadays (max 140mm length). I tried the LG G3 and the Samsung GS5 but they are too big for me.
I used to have a Samsung Galaxy S2 which was perfect for me, but it died (maybe softbricked) while upgrading cyanogenmod.
My options : repair the SG2 but it may be a waste of money! or buy a new phone.
So my question is : do you know any recent phone that is not too big, quite cheap, and where I can install LineageOS?
Go to kimovil.com and search (up to 140mm)
Im using Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite.
It's best to just go for a One plus 6. Whatever you do, phrase do not go for another product apart from ONE PLUS is a no-win for me [emoji107] ONE PLUS COMMUNITY is the best. Join the trend and have a great smartphone Experience

I second the OnePlus devices, development, community...
Xiaomi mi A2. perfect phone for the money.
note 6 pro is better. mi 8 lite has better cpu but in real world usage, there is no difference at all. mi 8 lite don't have SD card expansion, small battery, no fm radio and no 3.5mm jack. also no ifr port. so make your choice
I would recommend the Xiaomi Mi9T

I don't think that it's feasible as it would need a complete change of firmware and probably hacking of Mi Fit app as well (it offers features based on the connected band version). To be honest, you don't miss much, controls are utterly small and extremely inconvenient to use unless you're totally still.

Mi Fit App on Redmi Note 8 Pro

Hi, has anyone ever tried tracking an activity using Mi Fit app on your Note 8 Pro? Mine seems to be haywire. The GPS tracking is very inaccurate and unreliable. I've tried other software like Google Fit and Strava and it's fine. Anyone here successfully tried using Mi Fit on the Note 8 Pro?
