MIUI 11.0.3 Bluetooth connection problem - Redmi Note 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Dear All,
I have bought this phone 1 week ago but I have problem with the bluetooth connectivity. When I would like to connect the phone to a bluetooth car device the pairing code request dialog not shows up and because of this the pairing fails. Do you have any solution for this? With Redmi Note 4 (MIUI 11.0.2.) the car works well. I tried it with other car devices but there was the same problem.
Thank you in advance!!!!:fingers-crossed:

Try going to Settings-Apps-Manage apps-Bluetooth and Clear data-Clear all data. It helped me for some time but now Bluetooth problems appear again and I have to do it every time after answering the call while listening to music via Bluetooth.

Hi! try changing your AVRCP version from 1.4 to 1.6 in developer options

Thanks for reply! Unfortunately it does not work! The pairing request dialog window is still not popping up...

Maybe you need te change the bluetooth notification priority to high and maybe check permisions.allow it to show on home screen etc

Thank you for everyone! I found the problem! The app of my bluetooth watch caused the problem, after uninstalling it the bluetooth works again.

I face a similar problem with skoda car infotainment.
In my case pairing is successful but on the first call connection breaks. Even if connection is broken and car's infotainment starts seeking for a Bluetooth connection Redmi note 8 thinks it is still connected and it stucks there. when connection breaks a message pops up that reads something about AVRCP not supported and redmi note not responding
A have unpair both devices many times but same thing happens again and again.
I have to point that i came from a Redmi note 6 pro, where EVERYTHING regarding bluetooth connections and multiple connections were operated just fluently. I have redmi note 8 just 2 days
On redmi note 8 are always connected an amazfit stratos and a meizu ep51 handsfree and there are some other apps installed like mifit.
Do you thing that i should start first by unistalling all apps?

i unistalled amazfit app and it seemed that was getting better but i assume that phone it cannot deal with multiple bluetooth connections. Unforunately it cannot managed android auto (wired connection) and car infotaimnet (bluetooth connection). On the first call connection drops.
I flashed a custom ROM- based on China roms- but things didnt got better. Having both redmi not 6 pro (which handles all bluetooth connections just fine- even transfering active call via bluetooth headset to the car infotainment as soon as it establishes a bluetooth connection while i am getting into the car) and Redmi note 8 on developer options i copy all setting from Redmi note 6 pro to Redm note 8 but all issues are still there.
I wonder if it can be used the bluetooth app from the Redmi note 6 pro to the redmi note 8 but i dont have the knowledge to do it

I have the same problem. It sucks that redmi note 3 which i had before worked 100% ok...

All these issues make phone quite useless considering that everyone goes wirelessly. I wonder if this disappointing case is claimable from Xiaomi.

just noticed the same problem, both of my RN8pro bluetooth mac is 00:00:46:00:00:01 which is nonsense.
maybe you all got the same mac as mine, which is generic mac.

How can I check Bluetooth mac address ? Do I think there is something can be done?

Settings > about phone > all specs > status.
There's a bluetooth mac near the bottom.

I checked my Redmi note 8. It's seems normal, 28:16:7f:b5:65:2b is it?

MIUI 11 - Android 10 version?

The only workaround i found is to keep one connected bluetooth device at a time. So before i get into my car i have to disconnect bluetooth headphones and reconnect them after. Bluetooth management of Redmi note 8 is a big mess. I assume that is a phone's hardware problem its incapability to manage two or more bluetooth connections simultaneously.
I contacted Xiaomi customer care regarding bluetooth issues and i was finally asked to perfrom a test. I wonder how a test could resolve it

In the attached screenshot in developers options the max connected audio devices option is 2 but it's deactivated so i cannot changed it eg to 3. Could it be the solution to bluetooth connectivity issues? Is there any way to activate this option and change it?

GN doesn't find my BT handsfree

Hello guys.
I have a problem to connect to my Samsung HF-1000 handsfree.
GNote simply doesn't see it,so I cannot pair.
I found, that GN has not completely enabled BT stack.
Is there some solution?
Which ROM/Kernel/modem are you using? If it is stock then that is unusual.
Have you tried pairing Note with a laptop? If that works (make sure you make the note visible in BT options) then that rules out issue with Note?

I am running on AlBa ZCLP6 Full ICS Repack v2.
I can see profiles of my laptop on the Note "Phone" and "Media sound"(or something like this - I use differnt language).
Other way, from my laptop, services on the Note "Headset and loud phone","Music and sound".
I tried right now to pair and connect with my Skoda Octavia builtin BT HF and I done it in 20 seconds without any problem.

Have you tried AlBa LP5 or other LP5 based ROM? I have found that mine bt headhpones are muted completely on LP6 ROMs but work correctly on LP5. Your issue can be somehow connected with mine.

does the bluetooth pairing request problem exist on the note 2?

currently have the gs3 thinking of getting the note 2. on the gs3 with the stock jellybean roms there is a problem that there is bluetooth pairing request every time you pair with a device, even if you have paired with that device before. it does not just connect automatically each time you must fill the request to connect.
does this happen with note 2?
No problem here pairing with a samsung headset and also a nokia one. No repeated request filling.
But of course there are lots of other problems with bluetooth (at least for me), especially with S voice control. Let's say the bluetooth experience on this phone is not stellar... Hoping these things will get better with time
Hi,
Paired my bluetooth once and going fine since then. Never asked to pair again.
Cheers!!

i picked up the note 2 here in the US today...unfortunately it seems we have to pair bluetooth every single time. really sucks. every time i connect to my appradio2 i get i have to confirm the passkey to connect. there is no way around it that i can see and my previous phone the gs3 running cm10 never had this problem. could there possibly be someting i'm missing as to why it asks to confirm the passkey every time?

Hello sir,
I'm also having this same situation when connecting my N7100 to the car audio.
I think this is because the Bluetooth function on N7100 Jelly Bean is in invisible mode (Only visible for 2 Minutes with Default Setting).
Try to change the Visible Time Out on Bluetooth settings to "Never Time Out".
Hope this help.:silly:
Maybe a work around
Hello,
You might have the problem with "old" and "new" pairing method and these don't get on quite well. The problem is that you can't make the pairing code permanent.
You might want to try this work around and see if it works (I'm not sure but I managed to pair the ICS BT in my wifes car this way):
- Turn BT on on your phone and prepare it to send a picture or a contact by BT
- Put the device you want to pair with your Note in pairing mode (so it can be discovered by the Note)
- Now send the contact/image from the Note to the device you want to pair.
- The note will start searching for devices and you chose the device you need once the phone found your device
- Now the notification bar on the phone should prompt for the BT connection and you have the option to put in the code and check the "Do not ask anymore" option. After hitting OK your code should be permanent.
This method was found by a Master Brain called Rayer and he published it on a XPeria forum; you can hit the "Thank You" button anyway if it helps you

Mi6 bluetooth problems

Each time I use Mi6 via bluetooth in car to answer/make calls - first call goes OK, and all others not - people I talk to don't hear me. It happena in 4 different cars so it's not car's problem. Mi5 was OK. I run 7.1.1 NMF26X global beta. miui 8 7.6.8 global beta. And can't solve it myself. Tried deleting and re-adding cars, restarted phone - nothing helped. When I switch to phone during call - it's OK. As soon as I switch back to car - same problem. No one hears me and I hear everyone.
Any1?
I'm sorry but I can't test because I don't have any Bluetooth devices.
Not using any bluetooth device either.

Ok, one by one.
1. My phone does not see andriod wear app on my smart clock with bluetooth --> My watch works, did you unpair your watch with old phone first? Android wear watch can only connect to 1 phone.
2. There's personal hotspot, you can see it in the settings menu.
3. GPS needs time to find your phone, you need to have wifi (or mobile data connection to assist the phone), if it located your phone, next time GPS will work faster.
It is a different issue with me: when paired with a BT device with the "phone audio" profile enabled, despite picking up the call on via pressing the green button on the touchscreen, it still defaults to the BT device (and I have to switch audio back to "phone" before the other person cuts off after hearing nothing). This is on the global ROM 8.2.2.0...
The global ROM seems buggy as hell...

Hello Friend.
The same happens to me.
It connects to bluetooth but I have no output or audio input.
Did you get it fixed?
Thank you
Everyone.
This is not xiaomi's problem.
This problem is due to oreo's new bluetooth stack.
There is no current solution to this. I've searched far, wide and deep.
Android has a great track record in keeping the bluetooth stack broken.
If you try to search google, you will find out that not only xiaomi phones have this problem.
The only theoretical solution is to port old bluetooth blobs, and somehow make it work. But as far as i know, no one has done this before.
There is hope that android pie will fix this. But from what i read, early builds of pie still has this problem.

Bluetooth, 4G connectivity and notifications issues

hi everyone,
(i posted a similar message to another thread which might be obsolete)
my previous phone was a redmi note 6 pro and now i run a redmi note 8.
On both phones are installed the same apps, same use and same connected devices.
Issues on redmi note 8 (runs MIUI Global 11.0.4 PCOMIXM Stable):
1. it cannot maintain bluetooth connection (initially is connected but connection breaks as long as a call takes place) with car's infotainment . I've read that smartwatch app might cause the problem, in my case amazfit, which is true but i do need both amazfit app and bluetooth connection to my car. I changed AVRCP from default 1.4 to 1.6 but didnt help. Any help?
2. While redmi note 8 is connected to bluetooth headset (i've checked meizu ep51 and mi sports) all text message notifications sounds go through the headset not the phone. Notifications settings are checked. I think its a wider issue. A workaround is to disable media audio for specific bluetooth connections but you can not listen music thru the headset then.
surprisingly Redmi note 6 pro handled all aforementioned successfully.
3. mobile internet connections is often interrupted (for an unknown to me reason) and i have to switch on-off airplane mode to restore internet connection

nope
in addition to all these issues i realized that from some apps with all necessary permissions given there are no notifications at all. Another issue is that DND seems not to work. No matter if DND is enabled or not by AutoDND option, sounds are active unless i turn on or off manually
I wonder if a custom ROM is free of these bugs, but which one?

why don't you try flashing the stock ROM with mi flash via the fastboot method and then see if these issues still exist.

In case the ROM hasn't been flashed correctly?
Does it make difference from downloading the latest package by the updater menu?

Yes you can update from updater app too...but it's much better if you flash via mi flash fastboot method as it's a much more clean flashing and also it flashes all the partitions... fastboot flash is known to solve some issues...make sure you have a backup of your data .... you'll also need an unlocked bootloader but that's not an issue as you can lock your bootloader again if you want to while flashing via mi flash

I have the same issue, can you solve it?
Sent from my Redmi Note 8 using Tapatalk
No , i have no solution of anything. I reflashed phone's same ROM, no hope.
I look for a custom rom hoping it would be bug free
Same problem here ( Redmi Note 8T MIUI V11.0.3.0.PCXEUXM)... Using Notify & Fitness for Amazfit with my Amazfit GTR and connection is unstable, every now and then connection is lost. Also transferring watchface is taking long time, about 10 seconds for 1%, and on my old Huawei it is about 1 second for 1%. I also tried another watch, but same problems. Tried every AVRCP setting (1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6) but same issues. Has anyone tried custom ROM or maybe MIUI EU? I'll try but have to wait 1 week for unlocking bootloader.
I also have to wait one week to unlock my phone. Firstly I'll try a XTRV ROM which is China source based.

Question Poco F3 Not connecting to my car

I am new to Poco. This is my second post. I have got Poco F3 5G, MIUI 12.5.1.
My car is Kia Stonic and it is approximately 3.5 years old.
By Bluetooth, I paired my Poco with my car without any problem. It even downloaded my contacts too.
But it just WILL NOT connect to my car when I turn the engine on.
So far I reset my car Bluetooth system, unpaired then re-paired on my telephone. It still will not connect to the car.
My old Moto G7 plus connects absolutely fine.
Hopefully you guys might have few suggestions.
Thank you.

have you tried searching in settings for android auto, then tinkering with those settings?
oh, i was assuming you have an android auto enabled car... do you?
Failing that, not ideal, but you could try an auto connect app...
see here
Hello reg66, before answer you, I wanted to wait until the software update of my car done.
Unfortunately it didn't help.
The only way my POCO F3 5G connects to the car by USB cable via Android Auto. I suppose it is OK to connect by cable but every short journey I make I have to use this cable....very inconvenient.
It will be connected to my car even if I take the cable out until I turn the engine off.
As you have suggested I have tinkered with the settings of Android Auto but my efforts were to no avail.
On the other hand my old phone Moto G7 plus connects to the car as soon as I turn the engine on....Via Bluetooth.
So I suppose the culprit is my new phone.....Thank you.

What about using one of those auto connect apps I linked to.... So that when you're car is detected it auto connects and launches android auto...
Ohh yes, you have just reminded me....Any particular one you may like to recommend?
i have a sonata 2018 and i had the same problem when i tried to connect my tablet Huawei tab 10.1
any way i had to go inside the care screen setting and just randomly clicked something in my Bluetooth setting and it worked
in the link you will a way get inside the car setting and look for Bluetooth stuff
sorry for my bad english i hope i helped you
for just auto connect (let us know if your android auto launches successfully when connected) this one looks to have good reviews....
but i had a thought.... have you reached the maximum allowed registered devices in your Kia? Try deleting one/some of the connected devices in your Kia's bluetooth settings, that may then allow auto pairing of new devices
