Motorola One Action Android 10 Update - Motorola One Action Questions & Answers

Motorola One Action has received an Android 10 update for Brazil and India. As far as Indian Variant goes, the update package name is QSB30.62-17. Although I am enrolled in MNF, but my device is rooted and hence I can't get hold of the OTA (the usual Package Verification Error Message). If any Indian user could capture the OTA URL, kindly share it here. Thanks

Android 10 update is here!
Just now I received the Android 10 Update for my Moto One Action :crying: . Have a look at the below screenshots. Surprisingly, the size is only 743MB. I tried capturing the OTA URL, but couldn't find anything worthwhile. However, one line caught my attention, i.e.
ab_delta-Blur_Version.29.291.1-30.11.18.troika.retail.en.US.zip
I seriously don't know why its jump across the border over to the US as my device accepts RETIN (INDIA) firmwares. Anyways, who cares Talking about the version, it is QSB30.62-17. By the wat, it's taking way too long in getting downloaded. One hour has passed but only 50% complete. I will update the post with screenshots on successfull completion. :fingers-crossed:
EDIT: I Have received the Update with my device having an Unlocked Bootloader. So no need to relock your bootloader for the OTA. Just make sure to unroot your device (obviously )

I"m waiting for the update un Chile, also hoping More device development, come from a redmi note 3 pro

Here's the adb logcat of my device that I managed to capture as soon as I received the Android 10 OTA. See if you could find anything, like the OTA URL or something of that kind. I tried searching the file using the ota and zip keyword, but nothing fruitful came out. The logcat is in txt format but exceeds the maximum file size upload limit. So I have compressed it.

I found (googeling) an download link for the ota, i dont know yet if it works.

no problem with the root, patches the boot and voila but if there is a problem with Netflix, it seems not to be compatible with android 10 regardless of the root and with the gestures of android 10 there are several bugs, I ended up returning to those of motorola

in case someone did not know that there is a magisk module that cuts the "notch" in the development options and this covered some notifications in Android 9,
In Android 10 this does not happen anymore, I comment in case someone has installed the module and remove it only for notifications

Here is what needs to be done.
I I have attached two files here. One is the fastboot commands file and the other one is of the extracted stock firmware. Here is what needs to be done,
Extract the ROM and keep it ready.
Then have a look at my 'fastboot commands' file.
Compare my fastboot commands file with the extracted ROM's servicefile.xml.
Make the modifications accordingly to the fastboot commands, if and where needed.
Note: Extract the ROM inside the Platform-Tools folder only. Then open cmd or PowerShell from within that folder and execute fastboot commands.

[Download] G5 Plus March Security Update for Retail Channels

Hey everyone,
You can download the March security update for G5 Plus (Retail channel only) from here
Side-load it through ADB.
(Note: This has been tested on Indian retail variant. It may/may not work on other retail variants - proceed at your own risk)
New build number is NPNS25.137-92-8
My RETIN device hasn't received the OTA yet. Is it rolling out now?

You may edit the title to something like "G5 Plus March Security Updates for Indian Retail Devices" as some users still don't know that it's a different firmware than for reteu/retus devices (those are ending on 93) and flashing this one could cause problems or at least take the opportunity to receive future OTA's.
Just a hint, no insinuation in any way, it's great that people like you share their firmware.

I don't see any problem with that, since it's a retail variant and there's no radio (carrier) dependency. Since all Moto G5 Plus retail variants are identical (except for no. of SIMs), there shouldn't any issue generally.
Can we just install it through TWRP ?
Bcoz i had hard bricked my moto g5 plus and use albus blank flash and i got like Moto z play bootloader and finally now its running by losing voLTE and Google pixel experience with 3g ...
So i am just wondering if i can flash it through twrp and then i get moto g5 plus boot loader back then i again flash a latest version firmware...
Please help me
thanks in advance <3

If you take a look here: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/RETAIL/
you'll see retail variants ending on 92 (+something) and on 83/93(+something). Both are retail firmwares and I think you can flash a 92 on a european or us device but as you change into the retin channel you won't receive regular OTA anymore. Motorola/Lenovo makes it hard to differ between the firmwares and I will try to find a stable source for that. I'm from Germany and I'm rooted so I don't take OTA's at the moment but friends of mine have received the march security patch and they are on a build called NPNS25.137-93-4.

No, after using albus blank flash you can't flash regular firmware anymore. You have to use a TWRP flashable version or any custom ROM.

Yes, you´re right, I mixed it up. 93-4 was for january I believe? But it´s 93-x for RETUS/RETEU, not 92-x., that´s what I wanted to point out.

I think i read somewhere in other threads that we can do it once oreo roles out .... so that we can pull away the new boot loader and push it to the hard bricked phones then we can normally get back the Moto g5 plus with official Oreo with OEM locking...
is this true ?

Possible. Like with the missing volte/4g or IMEI 0 problem some people hope that Oreo can fix it.
We will only be sure when/if Oreo is available.

I can't tell you. I'm not sure if Lenovo comes out with Oreo at all, it's been a long time of waiting now.
I think you are able to try it at once when you can grab a firmware with bl but maybe you'll have to wait until TWRP flashable builds are available or the kernel sources are released and some clever Dev can pick the needed files.
You can just wait and hope.

How to Update Moto G5 and G5 Plus to official stock Android 8.1 Oreo? The easiest way is to do an OTA upgrade. Note that this is full update zip. Best part is you will get future OTA updates because it is official and not a soak test.
Download the Moto G5 (Plus) zip file from above.
Transfer the file to phone’s internal storage. Go to Settings > apps Provide storage permission to Motorola Update Services app. Check for OTA updates from Settings.
The package will be automatically detected and system upgraded.

1) Nope - it seems that copying the OTA file to the top of the internal storage (alongside the Download, Alarms etc. folders) works.
2)In Settings>Apps, tap the 3 dots in the top right corner and tap 'Show system'. The Motorola update services should appear then.
Be aware that this update may require NPNS25.137-92-14 (I've not seen the EU/US/APAC OTA released yet), so if you're from the US or have a non-Brazil/non-Indian device, this update may fail to be applied.
My retus is NPNS25.137-93-14. If NPNS25.137-92-14 may be required then I guess there will be a different OTA file for EU/US/APAC? Unless Lenovo releases the lower number update NPNS25.137-92-14 to make the OTA compatible with EU/US/APAC?

Updated this morning not via recovery.
Download this update for moto g5+ then placed in internel storage after that check for update then it automatically started update process.
And the main thing in this update is that it restore or repair baseband or presist which is responsible for network.

Can't same rule applys to USB update, firmware needs to be approved.
I Have Found this Update:
Code:

First time, i could not update with USB C Key, with rev 200; i downloaded rev 201; put in dload folder; and *#*#2846579#*#* and software upgrade, and all is OK; i will try now to updte to rev 229 via HSTOOL (See Mate 20 PRO on XDA) but i have to modify an xml file; regards
I'm able to recover the firmware using HiSuite and a modified XML file, I might be able to provide us a way updating to all newer 9.1* soon like people do using the HSTOOL for Mate 20 PRO. I'm trying to see what HSTool does, I only think it's replacing the firmware after decompressing the download.
Ill update all of you once I know more.
Edit: Method works creating how-to in progess.

finally with 229, the Honor view 20 works as fast as his big brother the Mate 20 PRO, it is a happiness

Normal way. See the folder properties and the security tab.
Take the ownership if needed and change the permissions.
Deny deleting from the admins.
This is the first search result that I found for now.

My edited UI_Config.lgl. Might be different than the one meant for your device.
Just unzip it to the common folder to use.

Yes, don't worry. Just wait 2-3 hours, I'm preparing for going to work. I have them in my work laptop. Also something interesting, It seems V40 android pie can be easily crossflased with lg up 1.15 cmd line. More info on v40 xda forum.
LG UP 1.16 + common dll - zip archive
https://www.mediafire.com/file/45m2vcki69233y3/lg_up_1.16.zip/file
LG UP 1.15 - for use with cmd line. LG V40 with android pie supports crossflashing with it. we only miss the right common.dll
https://www.mediafire.com/file/9m1nbrmdvnqf1nh/lg_up_1.15.zip/file
UI Counfig for V40
Instructions:
1. Copy the "UI_Config.lgl" file into "*\LGUP\Common" folder
2. Change the file's properties and make it "Read-only" (should already be there)
3. Ignore the "can't open new file" warning by LGUP 1.16
We now have the confirmation that this common dll is working with UP 1.16 for our V50

Google translate it.
Also Android 10 beta is fully working!

Can confirm, it's working!
So now that LGUP recognizes the V50, is it possible for someone to download the stock firmware and add the missing adb commands or patch Magisk into the stock firmware then flash it through LGUP?

What Korean carrier firmware do you have? U, SK or KT?
Until there you could flash the U firmware, than update to v11n version, then side load Ota of the Android 10 with LG-UP 1.16 to go and test Android 10. See above link and use Google translate.
If I'm not wrong, it will be this (please double check) :
https://lg-firmwares.com/downloads-file/20522/V500N11n_00_LGU_KR_OP_0823.kdz
Now regarding the Magisk. I find it hard to inject it in the firmware as they are signed by lg with encryption... I'm not sure, I may be wrong. Is it possible?
P. S just bought another v50 today from ebay for $699. Let's see if I'm lucky not to pay Vat tax. Ditched the second screen as it seems not for me. It was for a friend the phone.
I saw you have the same model KT as mine.
Did you disabled these apps like I did?

I would love to try Android 10 but were not sure of this phone has anti-rollback feature. Which means if I upgrade and then root is possible on Android pie, I'm screwed. So i'll wait on that.
I have the unlocked SKT carrier running on T-Mobile. There are some KDZ extraction tools for LG phones already around. I was just thinking if its possible to download the stock firmware, unzip, add the missing ADB commands or add root directly, repackage as a .kdz then flash it through LGUP. I don't know of it's possible, just a thought. I feel like LGUP recognizing the V50 is a step closer to unlocking this phone. We just gotta get other developers on board.
Also, can I crossflash to the european software? V500EM?

You can cross flash European, but for the LG v40 the wifi I not working. Search the v40 threads about this. I'll link it tomorrow.
Extraction is OK, but it then needs to be compressed and signed. I'm not sure how these kdz works. Follow the lgup discussion thread on LG v40 xda forum for more.

You are right about antirollback. We don't know what they put in the bootloader. Also I crossflashed g7 from pie to oreo without problems. It might work with 10 - pie also.

I'd like to get rid of all of this Korean stuff really. Damn I can't wait to root this phone.

It's 22:38 here. Tomorrow the firmware crossflash.
I just installed naver, a Google for koreans and trying to figure to put in in English.
It's not just for the phone, maybe I'll find interesting products there in Korea. Maybe I'll import them. We'll see.
It seems that on this Naver Cafe app are over 200k registered users for lg forum. I want to dig in those forums.
Here is a look:

Assuming is like the V30, instead of "Upgrade" you would click "Partition DL" then "Select All" and continue.

You're right ?
It's safe to say if the Pie version is lower, do refurbish. We still don't know if LG put a antirollback.
EDIT: I'm gonna go ahead and do Android 10. Will post results tomorrow.
EDIT 2: Nevermind. I was gonna pay for the update but you also have to pay to setup an account for the only website that has the OTA right now. If anyone got their hands on Android 10 OTA, I'd love to try it out.
