How did you get google assistant to work in chinese variant? - Realme X2 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I'm getting a problem related to the chinese variant.
-Google assistant won't stay the default assist app.
-Access with voice match is greyed out.
-when i make google the default assist app, google is greyed out as seen in the third screenshot.
-weirdly enough i don't have default assist app anywhere in settings, I can only access it from google (first screeshot)
I already have disabled breeno stuff and some chinese stuff except breeno space.
I tried some solutions online from deleting cache to re-installing google, but the issue is rom related.
What i haven't tried is unlocking bootloader and rooting then making the assistant a system app. So what I'm trying to say is did anyone have it working like a charm, and how??
Sorry for the long issue.

Can anyone help, this is quite popular

its possible, if u have root access and unlock bootloader.

Add free app?

Hi everyone,
I just noticed today that my Add free app isnt working. When I try and run the app it tells me that its an old version and I should update it. When I search the market I cant find it, and I also cant find any substitute
Can anyone recommend me an app that disables all adds and that can be found on the Market?
Thanks in advance!

this is the one i always use but i dont know if it needs updating coz my desire is dead.
google removed all ad blockers from the play store, they had their reasons i guess...
you can still sideload the ad blocker apks just fine
personally i prefer Adaway, open source, works good. you'll have to update the apps manually if they get updated, just search online

no, just install the download the apk then install it using a file manager (click on it :good. Make sure you have settings -> applications settings -> and 'unknown sources' is ticked
it's a fairly common way to install apps without going through play store (called sideloading)
open the app and follow the instructions...

[MAGISK] OnePlus 5 Google Dialer + Contacts - Fully working!

All the methods of installing the Google Dialer on the OP5 kinda worked but would not allow the user to answer/decline calls from the notification popup. Well, did some digging on this and found a solution. This is a Magisk Module, so for those that use Magisk, simple flash and restart. Be sure you select the new Phone app as default for calls. Also, need to go in and manually set the permissions for the app.
This can be done by going to "app info" for default OnePlus phone app and disabling, then by going to Google Phone "app info" and clicking on Phone App, then on the "Configure apps screen, changing the default Phone App to the only option you should have (after disabling the default one) which is the Google "Phone". Then make sure your new Phone app has all it's permissions.
Enjoy!
Update: TWRP install method added for those not using Magisk. Just flash the zip and good to go.

I have not tested it as I use Magisk, but it should work. Worse case is that it will still not answer from notification. Should not cause any boot loop or anything like that. Have you tried the zip? There should be no issues with it, if you have issues please let me know so I can fix it...

[Debloat ]What are the Safe Apps/Packages to Remove?

Based on the title itself, what are the list of apps/packages that you guys removed (or can be removed) to debloat Mi A2 Lite?
Theres not that much bloatware in the device. And I think removing a system app will break OTA updates.
Uuuhhh. Welcome to my world. I don't like being tracked all the time by the countless sensors a modern smartphone has. Privacy is utterly important for me (and should be for everyone, but I'm not here to discuss this haha). Also, I hate making it easy to the multimillionaire companies profiting from selling and playing with your privacy. That's why I can't wait for the custom ROMs to start showing.
So, for now I disabled ALL google and all xiaomi apps. All of them except the "phone", "clock" and "carrier services" apps (the first 2 are too delicate for me and I didn't find a trustworthy alternative and I have no idea what the 3rd does, but seems important haha). Everything else, gone. Even "feedback", "PAI" and "Spock". And, of course, I don't have a google account linked to the device.
On the first boot, the phone connects to the internet and downloads a few other Google and Xiaomi apps. I prevented it to do so, so I wouldn't have to disable too many apps. I disabled google play services, play store and device setup (among the other ones) before connecting to internet.
Everything works fine in my phone (only one issue. Some apps rely on google services to show the map image. The image doesn't work while google services are disabled. But you can always enable it if you wanna use it).
Let me know if you have any question of any app/service/whatever you want to disable. I can share the alternative apps I use for the disable Google ones. I must say that most of them work even better.

You can uninstall non wanted stuff with the help of ADB without the need of rooting your phone. It doesn't get uninstalled for real, but hidden for the main user profile. Those apps can't run but OTA isn't a problem.
Check it out:

Edit:
@adriakus
You can remove carrier services if you removed Google Messages aswell.
"In a nutshell, the Carrier Services app is intended to allow your smart phone to take full advantage of a technology called Rich Communications Services, or RCS.
RCS allows for extra features in the Android Messaging app. The thing is most carriers have their own methods of supporting RCS in place so Google’s app is often redundant."

Force-disabling a system app affects the system partition? Or it would only affect it if it's unisntalled?

Shouldn't be a problem. If you disable/freeze a system app with for example Titanium Backup and you restore the stock system partition via fastboot afterwards, the disabled app is still disabled. So the conclusion should be that those changes to the app aren't touching the system partition at all and are stored to the data partition instead.
Don't hit me if this isn't the case.
Hi everyone ,Before realize debloat system app like Google maps , youtube, etc will be a problem to apply new OTA , i uninstall some ones with "3C toolbox" making backup before , after that i restore the backups.
The question is , i am ok for apply future OTAs?.

Probably restoring backups of uninstalled apps isn't enough to be OTA ready, better just disable/freeze system stuff. You won't get free space fo to use after uninstalling anyways.

Question Remove all trace of rooting

Hi folks,
Hope you are all fine !
I uninstalled Magisk but some apps still detect it's "rooted" which prevent them from opening. Would you have any ideas what cleaning I could do to avoid these apps to wrongly detect root ?
I'm running A13 stable TP1A.221005.02.
Thanks in advance !

My guess is that you still have the bootloader unlocked.
If you decide to re-lock the bootloader, it's gonna factory reset & wipe all data.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I didn't think app could verify this so easily.
I'd like as much as possible to not wipe the device, is there any way to confirm what triggered the app to find the "root" though it is not rooted any longer ? Any logs I could check perhaps ?
Thanks in advance -
One other thing is to remove the magisk app .apk if you downloaded it. Some programs do scan your files and if they see magisk in your files they deem you as "rooted".
Cheers,
B.D.

Before factory resetting, you could also try a dirty flash of the latest firmware.zip or using the official online Google Pixel Flash Tool.

It is not reading another apps data. It literally is scanning filenames. If you grant an app permission to read/write files, it can read any downloaded file to determine if it is magisk related.

I would be very suspicious of any app requesting such a permission, if it doesn't really need it.
Hi Folks,
Thanks everyone for your suggestions !
I removed all Magisk apps files, applications which needed root (though I'm not root, but was), and this fixed the issue here (I had in my hide list from nova an app called Root Explorer and I think the issue got resolved after I uninstalled it lol).
Have a great evening !
On a side note, moving to A13 ruined my great battery life, sadge.
I had poor battery on Sept A13 release. Oct A13 security release seemed to fix this.
Cheers,
B.D.
