[HOWTO] Properly Install Youtube Vanced - Vivo Nex 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi guys,
I had some trouble initially with Youtube Vanced(it was crashing immediately after start), so I thought this might be useful for someone else also.
The steps to have Youtube Vanced working properly are:
1. Install MicroG
2. Install Youtube Vanced
3. Allow MicroG to be started from other apps, which can be done in the following way:
- Open Settings and search for Autostart
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- Inside open Autostart
- On top there will be a button "Startup", go in there
- Enable Vanced MicroG
That's it.
If you don't do the third step, Youtube Vanced will probably crash always as it did for me.

Ask for your version of the OS
May i ask for your funtouch os version?
Mine is 1.10.7, but i don't see the option of startup with the autostart menu.
I have an issue when the vanced is playing in background, the app will shotdown by no reason. I already gave the permision of autostart to both vanced and microG but can't see the option of startup within the autostart menu.

Hi,
My version is 1.13.7.
The menu is located in Permissions management -> Autostart -> Startup(it is on top of all apps listed).
However I am not sure if your problem is related to this. Sounds more like some battery optimization is kicking in and killing the app.
Update: I tried to leave it playing in the background and it closes for me also. I tried adding the app to the "power intensive apps", but still no luck. Some battery optimization always closes youtube vanced.

Found out the solution. Open the "setting" menu. Inside the "battery" option, there is a "high background power consumption". Open it then turn on the switch of youtube vanced and it's good to go.

I found a way to run the app on a rooted phone.
Tested it on my Moto G 4.4.3 rooted.
Here's how to do it:
1. Install the Zlauncher (attached)
2. Install Root Cloak (attached)
NOTE: Root Cloak is an Xposed module. You need to have Xposed Framework installed on your phone.
3. Enable Root Cloak from Xposed modules.
4. Open Root Cloak > Add/Remove Apps > Menu (three dotted vertical button) Clear All Apps > Hit the plus sign > Choose ZLauncher (com.nokia.z)
5. Go to Settings > Applications > All > Zlauncher > Force Stop (If you cant click Force Stop, no worries, continue ahead)
6. Reboot your phone
7. Open ZLauncher
AAND its done!!! I tried this on my moto G and it worked. Share your opinions. Thank you
I do not own any of the apps listed.
It works so bad on our devices...
Another thing, if you face FC loop, you need to skip tutorial of drawing (quickly pressing any app).
There is a thread for zlauncher here already...

Plugged In Ver.1.4 : Just plugin and play

"Plugged In" is an Android app done using Tasker. Actually I am a big fan of Tasker and the way it works. I even found lots of other apps which features the same idea but not the way I am presenting today. I even posted about this profile on my blog nexusandme.com about a month back and that became one of the most viewing post so far. So I then thought of exporting it as a standalone app and I am successful in doing that. Download link at the end of the post.
Features :
1. Media select dialogue pops irrespective of on whatever screen you may be on.
2. works even when the device is locked.
3. Tested on almost all OEM devices including tabs, working fine without any issues.
Just plugin and play.
Size : 1.1mb
What's New in Ver.1.4:
1.Added YouTube and Dialer apart from Google play music, mx player, chrome. Total 5 apps
2.Reduced the dialogue size that fits displays ranging from 3.5inch to 5.5
3.Scroll down for chrome and dialer apps
4. changed icons size to 124x124 HD
Installation :
Like other apps download > install and trigger it for the first time. Now try by plugging in your earphones.
Please let me know how's the app. Find it useful then share it with your fellow buddy's.

custom apps selection is critical.
only Youtube works cause Note 3 has diff apps for dialer,Google music etc.
Edit: OP need to be updated says v1.4 should be v1.5.
Thanks for the app.
Looks nice good job :good:
Thanks! Looking to try this out, and logged in for updates
Great app, but please add Spotify.

Google Play Services battery drain fix

Google Play Services battery drain fix
Original thread
Thanks to @timmaaa, only the second step work (the one quoted in this thread) for our Galaxy Young. After testing this method, the battery drain problem was fixed and noticed that the Play Store is faster ! You have only to follow the instructions.
Please note: everything below this point requires root! This will not affect the running of your device!
Next you need to download Android Tuner. Open it and pull out the side menu, scroll down to the Apps Manager section and select Application Startups. Open the box at the top and change it to All, click the button in the bottom-right until it says System, scroll to Google Play Services and select it, a huge list will open, scroll to very near the bottom and find the Wakeup option, uncheck the box.

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
Go back to the main menu of Android Tuner and pull out the side menu on the left, scroll down to the Apps Manager section and select Application Manager. Click the right box at the bottom until it says System, scroll to find Google Play Services and long press it, a menu will pop up, select Permissions. This should bring you to the Perms tab, swipe across to the Services tab. In this list you want to uncheck anything that starts with Ads or Analytics, you also want to uncheck anything that starts with com.Google.android.location.reporting as well.

the next step of action is to login to the lastpass app and complete the following:
open up the lastpass app
goto settings
tap on app fill
verify you see "fill logins in other apps" enabled (only happens with enabled)
tap "edit app fill settings"
Scroll down to "Google Play Music" and tap
tap the checkbox named "Do not show fill window"
tap ok
exit out of lastpass
observe the sweet scrolling action in google play music.
rinse, wash and repeat for any other app giving you trouble
the results? check out the cpu list now while in google play music!
com.google.android.music:ui

Download the latest mi launcher, then if chrome asks 'this file can harm you device are you sure to download it' choose yes.
After downloading click on the file in chrome downloads tab.
Allow chrome to install apps and proceed with installation.
Done
But any clue on why the automatic download is not working?
also :
1. go to apps list
2. in options select show system apps
3. search 'system apps updater" and clear all data of that app
this will fix the auto download in most cases.
