measure Blood Presure on Galaxy watch Active 2 - Samsung Galaxy Watch

hi,
what about blood pressure measurement with the Galaxy S7 Edge and the Galaxy Watch Active 2-possible?

Not sure about s7 edge but watch will work. Install BP Lab and follow instructions.

Thanks for the information. It should also works with my S7 Edge.
This app is not yet available for Germany. Is there any way to install it anyway?

Downloaded the app from apkmirror and was able to install on my S10.
Works fine, but the next step is to get the app on the watch... therefore you need to callibrate the Bloodpressure device (your watch)
I believe the app is only available in US Store, so not in Europe, because I always get the error that the app is not available in my country.
Anybody has a workarround for that ?
Thanks

Just to reiterate i can't get this on my note 9 and Galaxy watch? I know i can get the app on my phone and use the sensor, which i have been doing, but it would be neat to get it on my watch.

I am not sure. It can be done as told by adfree. But I can tell you that main app can be download from apkmirror. In my watch the app version is 1.1.1. On some sites people have wrote that VPN can helpful to install the app.

Where did you get it?

Please can somebody help to identify the Tizen "part"..
Is it TPK or WGT?
Users with success are from USA and XAR is the valid CSC to download from Store?
Or other CSC also possible?
To identify Tizen App Name... SDB Tool for instance...
Code:
sdb shell
Code:
pkgcmd -l
then list with funny Tizen apps appears...
I can not help at the moment...
My Android handsets are tooooo old to install the APK and play around...
And i have only SM-R760....
Btw.
Maybe I am blind or sleep during reading....
Is SM-R500 also supported?
Thanx in advance.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaGjTqxgaBQ
Here I can see he searched via Phone for Tizen App... :good:
In Samsung Galaxy App
Also the Phoe part he install from Samsung Galaxy App...
Because I saw the Phone App is also in Play Store...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.sagebionetworks.research.bp&hl=en
IMHO 3 ways to get the APK for Phone:
Code:
from Samsung Galaxy Store
from Google Play Store
Sideload APK from Source of your Choice
Here I ignore country lock crap... available or not available blabla...
Watch part... only 1 way for now... as it seems. All Tizen cr.p only from "official" Source Samsung Galaxy Store...
Code:
Galaxy App on Phone
So my stupid question left...
Is it possible to search and download from Watch only?
I mean the funny Tizen Galaxy Apps App on Watch...
If yes... then maybe it is possible with CSC XAR... for instance...
Because I saw somebody crying in Youtube comments about Calibration blabla...
This is only fun project... no Doctor advice...
I am not responsible for heart attack...

@adfree Just out of curiosity, if in theory this app works on SM-R500 (only have a HR Sensor), right? In theory, the Galaxy Watch (which, also, has a HR Sensor ) is also capable of using this app?

@andrew.mackew
No idea... I have only SM-R760

Information on Samsung Galaxy S3 Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy (Smart Bluetooth)

If any one has any information on Samsung and there progress on fixing the bugs with the low energy bluetooth 4.0 can you plz update us all and post it here.
Thanks!

5. Say what? uhh i dont think so.
Unfortunately, there are no Bluetooth 4.0 (which Bluetooth LE is a part of) libraries built into android right now. In order to connect an android device to a Bluetooth 4.0 connection, you must do it for a specific device, and that device's manufacturer must have released a bluetooth 4.0 SDK. There is an open bluetooth low-energy SDK for Android

"I want my gb 6900 g-shock watch to pair with my GS3!!! UGH"
I am a app developer and I need Bluetooth 4.0 in order to develop hardware for my own phone. As of now i'm using Apples Iphone 5 " Samsung's Competitor" to develop my apps and Hardware. This does not look good on Samsung's part. I really hope this gets figured out. The Galaxy S3 is the top selling phone as of right now. It is also my favorite in terms of use but. The fact that they advertised 4.0 support this sucks!
I am with you on that bro. Got the gb 6900 on my wrist right now but no application to really take advantage of the ble. Just in case you dont know, you can always check that the SGS3 can see the GB 6900 using the "Bluetooth Smart Scanner" application tool found through play.
I also have a Moto Droid 4 which can natively see the watch using the Bluetooth page in settings but I am afriad I have to perhaps look into the developing my own app.

The nRF Utlility from Nordic, i couldnt even download from the Play Store because my phone is marked as "SAMSUNG-SGH-I747" which is at^t's SGS3. I wish there was a way i could download the .apk file from Play Store or even somewhere on the internet.
I am going to check if Nordic has put it on their developer site.
The application i mentioned only just discovers the Bluetooth 4.0 devices and doesnt connect to them. At the moment it is just good enough for proof that Samsung indeed has a Bluetooth Low Energy module in the SGS3.
If you can give me more info on your SGS3 such as network carrier, what rom and kernel you are using, perhaps i might be able to figure out why it is not working for you.

Also, i attached the incompatibility error i am getting when i try to download nRF from the Play store. Don't think you have the .apk for nRF Utility do you? Any way you know we can actually download the .apk from the play store?

The phone is my lifeline at the moment and given I am travelling, i am contemplating if i should root it. I just did the root to a Droid 4 but alas i dont know the market code for japan play store. I am sure someone has figured out and listed all the market codes for each country... in Xda just going to do that soon after i finish replying.

Hi! yes. You would first need to make sure you have the JB official ROM upgrade from at&t through Kies or rooted and unlocked bootloader SGS3 running JB. Unfortunately, there is no official app from Casio for SGS3 as G-Shock+ exists for iOS yet, but you can download nRF Utility from market and then use the watch as a proximity device.

The nordic nRF utility does connected to my s3 and the casio gb6900.
It even was connecting better than the official G-shock app ( from the apple store) and my partners iphone 5
I'm not a developer but does it mean i have to wait until casio, android, or samsung work on that ?
Does it work with the japanes g-shock app from their store ? (this app supports a gb-6900 bt reports the description)

have you tried to clear the bond between the casio gb6900 and nRF utility and Bluetooth smart scanner or other android apps? I believe you can do that by going to the setup screen on the watch and then keep the split.reset button pressed on the watch. What other apps other than Bluetooth Smart Scanner and nRF Utility have you found on android/for sgs3 that use BLE to connect?

I have yet to try the official G-Shock+ app for iOS. I try to stay away(physically and mentally) from any iOS device. You may be right on the on the "better connectivity " as i know Apple did screw up the Dual Mode Bluetooth chipset on the iPhone 4S...which they might have carried on with iPhone 5.
Yes, you would have to wait untill casio develops something or untill there is a API from Samsung for BLE development for Android. I think the latter one is more important as once there is a API, not only Casio can develop a full fledged app but also many individual developers. Samsung is the real sucker in this.
You hafto go into setup in watch menu then hit "start stop" twice then hold in reset. Then search for the watch again.

Well thanks for the effort. Many people before you have done that and got the same response. I dont know why Samsung is not at the top of the matter on this..especially if they really want to seal the deal for SGS3.
It could be that android/google is really pushing for NFC and not so much on BLE because iOS is pushing more on BLE and not so much on NFC.
I tell you these corporate battles just are hindrances to potential opportunity to many technologies and developers. Shame on them!
Update on Android App from Casio
I have some good news to share. We should be getting an Android based app from Casio. See this link
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/49231/casio-g-shock-gb-5600a-iphone-pictures-hands-on
"It will work only with iPhone at present - because of the app support - but an Android app is in the pipeline for release later in the year."
Another site i found reporting says around end of summer.

Hi, I would like so much to install the new faces. Thank you.
Do you have XAR rom, i want to use samsung pay, i can't connect to my computer by sdb. So i want to flash rom into my watch

I second the wish for an SM-R500 firmware that includes a CSC for Ireland, which I guess would be available on the firmware that includes UK. The one I need is 3IE.

Thanks, nmc-alves! I'll check it out tonight!
Good news and bad news... I've now flashed the firmare you uploaded, Nmc_alves®. Unfortunately that one doesn't seem to contain any Irish CSC options, either. I'll try out a few of the options on it, but what I've seen so far is that Samsung Pay will only activate for Irish cards if the watch is set to an Irish CSC. The generic EU CSC for instance disables Samsung Pay completely.

Quick question though, are the new watchfaces from galaxy watch active included on your watch? I'm trying to find a way to flash my galaxy watch with the galaxy watch active firmware...

For example; Fit future, fresh, trekking mate.
We can download them from playstore, but since they are not native, we can't change them colors or settings like other pre installed faces. If this firmware is an original system image from the watch active, we can?
Fit Future is the only one of those on my watch after a recovery.
Breathe, Pie Twirl, Activity Sparkles, Pop analogue, Peak time, Solari board, My day , Health dashboard, My Photo+, Dashboard, Large, Roaming clock are the other factory installed ones.
New theory... Samsung Pay might not be active on the Galaxy Watch Active in Ireland? I see, there's absolutely no mention of Samsung Pay on the Irish Galaxy Watch Active product page...
So, the Firmware I got by Nmc_alves could actually be the right one. Just a future update away from it getting green lit by whomever pushes that button...

Since I don't have a Samsung phone, I don't have the Galaxy store app directly installed, but rather I have it installed through the Galaxy watch plugin and I think that's the reason, because it tells me that I have to update the Galaxy store but I can't do it. someone who can help please?attached video

You play with "Deep Link"... which calls Samsung App app crap...
This is not really Security... it is more Kindergarten...
All you could try... at the moment:
A
If this funny pop up came out... with "first step upgrade your Galaxy Store to the latest Version"
Try to tap around... in gray or other parts of your Display... NOT inside the white Window nor OK nor Cancel...
Start at upper corner...
Few Versions of funny Galaktik Joke App can skip such Pop Up Windows...
If no luck, please tell your App version... and maybe Link... so I could check...
There are 1000000000000000000000000 Versions of this Andromeda Running Gag.
B
There are other methods to get App and install...
Depend on your skills and how paranoid your Developer is...
My personal favorite is... TPK or WGT... then with SDB Tool:
Code:
sdb install "app"name.tpk
C
Samsung Phone...
This depend how much you want test Beta Apps...

Definitely yes, I am passionate about tizen studio and yes I have installed several apps through wgt files

You have Download Link?
Maybe Special Thread for your handset...
Sorry my English is not sooooo good.
Reason for clicking weired through whole Display....
I have several Samsung Apps Versions, where I can skip/bypass this kind of forced update...
I have now limited time... maybe later I can be more specific...
About Samsung handsets...
I have more then 1 device... but only old crap...
Like GT-I9300...
And my SM-R760 is for instance my toy...
So IMHO focus on your priority.
If Beta App testing is important for you...
So alternate solution...
Toy Wear + Samsung Toy Handset...
Maybe easier and faster to manage instead "hacking" Samsungs Security """Chain"""...
Maybe family members can borrow you Samsung Phone... or neighbar or...
Best Regards
Hi, I really appreciate your effort to really help me
I do not intend to hack any Samsung system to get what I want
I am going to get it by installing the wgt through tizen studio
The main reason for my post was to make enough noise for Samsung to update the embedded Galaxy Store inside Samsung wearable.
Thx again

IMHO Samsung can not hear you...
Not on XDA nor on their own sites...
I spend few minutes with your Video...
Results...

If you use PC Browser... you land or will be kicked also to this:

No idea why:

If you play with Android/Phone Link... you see Error...

Screenshots taken from my SM-R760... this device is not supported as it seems... so empty...

Not exact sure what you mean...
You mean the Phone part?
Because Galaxy App app APK is 1 App:
Code:
com.sec.android.app.samsungapps
In "Watch"... also Browser "embedded"... and nice Galaxy App App... I hate the names...
Code:
com.samsung.gearstore
I mean this...
Maybe "Watch" can handle these Deeplinks too... without the loooong way over Phone...
Best Regards

Impossible I've tried that way
There's one way through wpc mode but don't know how get this without resetting and don't wanna do it cause the long way to leave the watch as it was.
Any other ideas plz
Thx
?? ??
Sorry.
At the moment it is impossible for me to help you...
All I can do is in last PM I wrote you...
I spend few hourS with different Samsung handsetS...
Always failed...
Wrong ODC (Version)... incompatible Watch blabla...
IMHO this is not worth...
If I have trouble with Samsung stuff... no idea if you can bypass without Samsung device... this Security Labyrinth/Chain...
IMHO easier:
A
As I told Samsung Phone...
Seems good idea to have Android 7 device...
So something like Samsung S6...
B
If your Developer is friendly enough... he can share the Beta App in other wayS...
But if he is also so paranoid like Samsung... because paid App...
I have to give up on this...
Sorry.
Best Regards

Is it possible to test out the ECG on the Active Watch 2 for non available countries?

Hi Everyone, I'm not sure if I'm just not searching very well, but as per the title, I was hoping to play around with the ECG for the active watch 2. I have a samsung phone (non-rooted) if it helps.
I saw that its recently come out in the US and Korea, and was hoping this would be as simple as side loading it on, but I have a feeling that may not be the case. Is it possible to test out at the moment, is there any steps/tutorials lurking around?
Thanks so much!
Edit - Found a video here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11lvEJWdzMY installs great, but the ECG doesn't work for me unfortunately. Keeps resetting.
Edit 2 - Found the answer, just wore the watch for 15 minutes, made sure continious heart rate was on (which I think was stuffing up), and now I'm getting past 25 seconds. I think it stops after 5 seconds if you don't have heart rate checking properly.

I'm on the same, and I do find its a bit off and on. Interestingly I've had some success while lying in bed for a while it starts to work. If you are seeing it get the ECG mode and its super wavy (like you're seeing lines similar to a barcode) thats why its failing. It needs to show like a proper ecg.
Also make sure to hold it like it shows on the photo, I don't know why but I think the thumb placement may be important as well?
Still though I only get it to work like 20% of the time.
I did notice it does better when my heart rate is lower then 90bps, (or maybe 100bps) I wonder if it changes the resolution and it stuffs up the testing.

Since you do not provide CSC information, there are 2 cases for you:
- If you have CSC of XAR (USA) then the ECG will be locked (I think not because maybe the ECG app is still visible on your watch)
- If you cannot test the ECG until the 25th second and you have tried many ways that the ECG does not work, then the ECG sensor is likely to be damaged. By following the instructions under the link below you might be able to check it out

You can test ECG with picture guide under
My ECG is working fine and the result is 0. If yours is 5 then it's broken and you need to go to a Samsung service center to have your ECG sensor replaced.

Your watch has reached tizen 5.5. The ECG will have to work if you handle it properly. If it does not respond to any state like ripple and the L-O is 5 then chances are your ECG sensor will fail.

Yes tizen's version is 5.5 but in our last update we got just fall detection and vo2max .. what we are trying is just a workarround to activate the others features (ECG and BP) .. for this reason i asked you if you are sure L-O information

Only Korea, Brazil and US regions are officially having BP and ECG in update (Except US only approved ECG). Other areas that want to use this feature must install the tpk file from outside to use. If you have not installed it, you can download it from the following link:
File BP and ECG posted by adfree: https://drive.google.com/file/d/17dXx39gokFEsmEd9hj4sPds_YKWwosQV/view?usp=drivesdk
File SHM mod by Caravana: https://drive.google.com/file/d/17WU3eZpyOUIOcWstEWSVvGTYO-18Bg6Q/view?usp=drivesdk
You have asked me about L-O info. I tell you that many people have verified this test

Please see the message on the picture below between me and tsengboy. I sent you the link below in the previous post but maybe you have not read it, matteo040178 has an L-O result of 5 and also checked on the ECG application but it does not work. matteo040178 asked me to link the firmware to return to CSC THL (Thailand), tsengboy wants to return to the US (CSC TMB T-Mobile) to be able to bring the watch to a Samsung warranty center to replace the ECG sensor

BP and ECG

Hello all,
I think that you will bark a little bit after me but.....
I'm looking to install ecg and bp on my Galaxy watch active 2. I know plenty of you talk about it, but i don't find dedicated post with clear tutorial. I have a note 10+.
So, if some one can explain or show me the way, it's cool.
Thanks in advance.
with samsung phone its easy though
just download and install the 2 below.

*Remember allow unknown resources installation enabled at Samsung Wearable app. (so you can sideload tpk to ur watch)

What about SpO2? I've seen that samsung w3 has that feature in samsung health app, I also have that on my s8 samsung health app but can't find it on the watch.
SpO2 is exclusively for GW3 as of now.

What about a non Samsung phone?
I also looked but it's a bit confusing to know which way to follow after reading different partial posts, some older some newer.
I got the newest update for the Active 2 a week ago, so not sure if the posts about changing the country code from a year ago are still relevant?

Hi there, thanks for this. I'm using a Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Samsung Galaxy S10 phone.
I enabled installing unknown sources in the Wearable app, then installed the 2 apks. The modded SHM apk installs fine and I can see the ECG and BP sections in the app on the phone. ECG works great from watch to phone.
The BP and ECG apk installs and tries to push something to the watch (can see this in my notifications), then says installation failed. Any idea why this might be?
Screenshots attached.

Hi, yes I'm in the USA. Does this mean I need to remove SHM from the watch first?
@the7thson
There are more then 1 way to get rid of this writeprotected SHM... preinstalled and useless...
Can you give full info about your GWA2?
IMHO if you can tell if LTE device or BT only...
SM-R820 or SM-R835U or something like this?
