There is a chance OTAs might work by default. if it doesnt, just manually update it from realme website

Okay,. I have finish update Realme XT C.03. I make Orangefox keep read only, and start flashing ozip file from Realme Website. After update OTA, Recovery back to Stock and Magisk not installed.
Install Orangefox again with Fastboot mode, don't forget to flash vbmeta.img. and flash Magisk using Orangefox recovery.

No,. Your internal storage not wiped. Just setting Orangefox to read only, and start update OTA from RUI.

After you success update OTA, your Phone will be unrooted. Now after OTA update, if you want to root again, flash Orangefox using Fastboot mode, and flash Magisk. DONT FORGET to flash VBMETA. if you not flash VBMETA you will get error boot.

-Installing deeptest apk to unlock bootloader
-in fastboot, i will unlock via fastboot flashing unlock
-Will install this recovery
My version will be c.05, guide me if this is correct process, and when will i have to flash Vbmeta and how?
I would really appreciate if you help me get started, since this device poses completely different process and more vunerable for a bricked device. I have already done a lot of reasearch but this device is very complicated plus i read that it breaks fingerprint and ability to stream HD from netflix if we unlock bootloader.

FOD issues are resolved now.
You will get boot destroyed error if you dont flash disabled vbmeta or flash stock vbmeta with disabling flags. (Refer the wiki for more info on that)
You will lose data once unlocked, so back them up. Its pretty much straightforward after you have a working custom recovery.
Orange Fox R11 stable is released for Realme XT.
i m using thus version ofx but when trying to nandroid backup it gives error 255 or sometimes its just failed(btw i try to select all except cache/recovery/system image)..also try to backup only internal storage/system boot and data partion but failed..any solution for this??i flash new rom weekly and without nandroid backup its very painful(although I m using migrate apps)..TIA

You flash this at your own risk. Please ensure you have the stock ROM to hand downloaded from SAMMOBILE in case of problems. This will trip the knox counter.
Instructions:
Flash with odin in the AP slot.
Put your device in DOWNLOAD mode.
Uncheck Auto reboot.
Load the respective file below into the AP slot and hit start.
After flashing and ODIN reports PASS immediately reboot to recovery by holding POWER + HOME + VOL DOWN.
As soon as the screen goes blank change to VOL UP whilst still holding POWER + HOME.
You should now see TWRP recovery.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE ABOVE STEPS WILL RESULT IN TWRP BEING REPLACED BY STOCK RECOVERY
NOTE: ON SOME ANDROID 5.1.1/6.0/7.0 DEVICES IT IS NECESSARY TO GO TO:
Settings -> Developer Options -> OEM unlocking
AND ENABLE OEM UNLOCK FIRST OR YOU MAY ENCOUNTER 'BLOCKED BY FRP LOCK' WHEN FLASHING.

1. Lock screen pattern, pin, password a bit delayed/ take some time to unlock

I mentioned that I patched the boot.img and it should work with magisk. You should use the patched one with magisk.

- Download the patched zip from first thread and the latest magisk.zip from XDA.
- Move both zips to your device and boot into TWRP
- Flash the patched zip first and then flash the latest magisk.zip

all successfully installed and booted into the system. But in the magisk does not pass the safetyNet test. The system update has arrived. After the upgrade I will try to install the kernel and magisk into a clean system.
I requested a new firmware. Made a complete wipe.
Without switching on the device
1. I installed twrp
2. patched Patched-SONY-XZ1-Compact / [G8441]
3, Installed msgisk.

Does all work?
I think you are right as it is the pre-released stock rom, it should upgrade from 4.16.
you can flash it directly from TWRP if you remove from the updater script of the 4.16-5.06 zip file all thel lines before this statement: # ---- start making changes here
It works.

I managed to install opengapps full by removing some apps with the aid of the gapps-config.txt file (otherwise system partition is too little - just check how to use it in the OpenGapps wiki). Then I disabled SetupWizard.apk renaming it SetupWizard.sav in /system/priv-apps via TWRP and adb (the nubia setup wizard does not start if the google setup wizard is active). Finally I rebooted and added my google account. So far, so good.

First of all, thank you for sharing your experiences on this rom.
Do you use Superuser or Magisk to root? I want to use Magisk to root device. By use of your updater script, we should be able to flash three zip at same time in TWRP

I did it the same way. Four zips in a row (including gapps modified accordingly my previous post). Then I rebooted. BTW, I use magisk
Uh oh, it seems I spoke too early....Magisk manager installs fine but it does not allow to do anything. Actually investigating the cause....

pico gapps worked fine with method to edit setupwizard.apk - no magisk though , pretty sure can report magisk fails to https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/beta-magisk-v13-0-0980cb6-t3618589/page558

as there is currently no working magisk can I ask if this method to change apk to sav works for any app? At least I could debloat the ROM a little ....

Went back to lineageos... Couldn't get gapps to work... After reformating data partition phone only booted to bootloader, couldn't get back in the os...

Everything now return to stock and I want to flash TWRP, but cannot connect with computer. The driver is not working. When I do fastboot device, it shows waiting for device. My operation system is win 10. Does anyone share a driver to me?

no... project treble checker says it's missing the A/B filesystem, so it's not ready for Treble

Can we install Magisk through TWRP?
i just flashed the twrp recovery image and successfully booted into recovery mode but after that i flashed no-verity force zip for no verify but after that my phone is not booting into android only going into fastboot mode ( start phone/recovery mode----> fastboot mode)
i think secure boot is verifying for the file system signature.. blocking to boot into android or may be boot.img file get corrupted bco'z when i installing dm-verity it give error -- "failed to mount system....... patching boot.img...."
pls anybody tell what should i do
if anybody can provide boot.img pls give link of it to me

you can solve secure boot problem by flashing it with modified/patched vbmeta and then you can flash magisk with no problem but you will get unhided notification in notification bar (rooting of your phone blablabla.....) problem of coloros rom.... recommended to wait for custom rom....
if you want to restore vbmeta.img , you can find it in stock rom...

well, the rom is smooth and fast booting, i don't find any problem except cannot set any lockscreen and fingerprint.
you need to lock bootloader if you want lockscreen and fingerprint to be function, but don't do that if you haven't installed stock rom or you will be stuck in bootloader just like me.

i have tried RR ,pixel experience, aosp, and havoc os.
aosp and havocos working fine, but RR and PE just stuck in boot animation.

Do I flash revert vendor for installing this ROM ? I am in havoc treble ROM.
Tested and is fkng awesome the performance and features, only it has the external camera bug but Instagram, Telegram, Whatsapp, open camera, Snapchat are not affected. I have this bug on Footej and PicsArt camera.

hello bro excellent work, I made step by step the instructions to install it but the moment I choose my variant J710 it jumps error in symlink error: 7 I already installed the create vendor 2.0, I made full wipes and I put to install the rom and it jumps, I am at OrangeFox Recovery. you know it could be bro?

Try using 'Create Vendor 1' from Spaget 3.0 thread, maybe it will work for you. Remember to flash revert vendor v2 first.
there is most important step Astrako did not mentioned. after flashing create vendor1.. then restart to recovery.. then only flash the ROM.

If you have vendor particion flash revert vendor and reboot recovery ,then flassh create vendor v1 reboot recover and wipe data,sistem,vendor ,fkasch rom and fix ,reboot and enjoy.......you need orange revcovery for flasch the rom recommend!

Excuse me, what size of the System and Vendor partition and version of OrangeFox do you have? I can't seem to get it to boot. It's always just a black screen.
I have flashed this rom on j710k ( j7-2016>korean set )it failed to boot everytime . i tried with both twrp and orange fox .thanks

Try it 2 vendors ~240MB , and ~460. Result - bootlogo and black screen.... no boot

This rom is great
I flash it on J710GN/DS and I've been using this rom since it was released and it was effin good. The Camera, the Calls even the Battery Life and the 120hz Refresh Rate on settings was cool. I really love this rom and i think i will going to use this as my daily driver device
