GWA2 access real-time heart rate from Samsung phone? - Samsung Galaxy Watch

I have a new Galaxy Watch Active 2, and I would like to use the Heart Rate Monitor functionality with some fitness software on my Samsung phone (Galaxy Note 10+). However the fitness software does not recognize the watch as a Bluetooth heart rate monitor. Are there any workarounds for this? Does the phone even have access to the real-time heart rate data from the watch?
TIA!

Do a search for "Heart Rate and Speed Transmitter for Zwift and Arcade Fitness" in the Galaxy store. It comes up for me (2020/02/25)

I do not have a solution but I can share my experience. I just bought the Polar H7 this morning and successfully paired it with my Motorola Photon Q 4G which also supports BT4.0.
After reading a lot of user experiences on the Internet it seems that this isn't a native Android issue as many have suggested, rather, you need to make sure you are using a heart rate monitoring app that can detect BT 4.0 devices. I'm using MapMyFitness which works fine but I've seen reports of many other users using apps that do not detect heart rate on both Android and that other fruity OS when paired with the H7.
I hope this helps.

Heart rate meter

Which heart rate meter would you recommend for using with Galaxy S2 and why? Is it worth buying meter with low power Bluetooth 4.0? It might be useful, when I'll get some newer device, but is it even compatible with Galaxy S II?

Bluetooth heart rate monitors

Hello all, I have just updated my GS3 to Android 4.3 stock and was looking to purchase a bluetooth heart rate monitor to use with runkeeper or endomondo.
I have read a lot of articles about the issues of android bluetooth 2.0 and the upgrade to 4.3 giving the GS3 SMART/Bluetooth 4.0 support. As this update has not long been out for Vodafone UK (I am not sure of the rollout times for other devices) I am struggling to find anyone who can confirm if any of the 4.0 HRMs actually work with the stock ROM and these devices.
I was looking at getting the Kyto device or a polar H7?
Thanks for the help.
I can confirm that stock 4.3 works fine with Polar H6. i've used Runsastic Pro and Polar Beat. Tried Endomondo quickly and it didn't find HR.
PM if you want Polar Beat apk. Nice app.
In my opinion, the Polar Wearlink+ Bluetooth (Classic) heart rate monitor provides live heart rate on your Android using your Digifit app. The soft fabric chest strap seamlessly adapts to your body shape, bringing full freedom of movement to your training. Use it with Digifit to run, bike, Spin, walk, or do any other cardio exercise and track the metrics that are important to you.

S Health app and Polar H7 heart rate monitor

Has anyone gotten the S health app to see this heart rate monitor? It pairs with the phone just fine and works with other apps. But S health does not see it. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Not Pairing
Hi borijess
I purchased the Polar H7 to work with my NordicTrack Treadmill C800 and it works fine. I tried to pair with my Note 4 and the Note states it is unable to communicate with the Polar H7. Most of the time it will not show up as a Polar H7 instead it shows the MAC Address. I downloaded the app called BLE Scanner and it see the Polar H7 and connects sometime. The Polar H7 is not listed within the S Health app as being compatible, maybe Samsung is trying to force us into buying there Smart watches and trackers.
Are you still able to connect to the Polar H7 with your Note 4
If you are having problems pairing with the H7 just make sure you try it within the app and not from the Bluetooth menu. And before you begin to pair the strap must be moistened and then attached to your chest otherwise it wont work. I had problems pairing it with my Galaxy Note because I did not moistened the strap.
I hope it helps

Endomondo should work, but only if your phone supports ANT+
