RN8T screen does not turn off, works all the time. - Redmi Note 8 Questions & Answers

New RN8T eea stable locked bootloader. One day it worked cool and then it began. First problem screen never goes off, it works all the time and doesn't want to lock, despite the fact that in the settings sleep is activated after 15 or 30 seconds, no matter what. Strangely enough, the problem disappears in airplane mode, unfortunately it returns after turning it off. The second problem concerns the youtube application, the control panel like pause or time shift does not disappear automatically, it also turns on by itself at random moments. Again, the problem disappears in airplane mode, but returns after turning it off. Factory reset has already been done twice. I encountered a similar problem with youtube earlier on the Internet and apparently it helped disable or kill accessibility, unfortunately it did not help, even removal by adb did nothing. Alternatives like Vanced or OGYoutube work even worse because the control panel never disappears. I thought that both problems may be related to ghost touch, but after a short test nothing like this occurs. I was thinking about unlocking the bootloader and throwing a custom to check if these problems are also there, but once it's a friend's smartphone, two before I get permission to unlock it, it will be a week. In the end it will probably be done, but by then maybe someone will find some magic solution?

[Q] Phone module off, touchscreen freezing, help!

Hy,
I have a big problem out of nowhere. The phone worked ok for more than y6 mths, while i haven't change the ROM. I found it blocked, not answering to any command, touchscreen or button. Soft reset it (red back-button) and it started but phone module was off, airplane mode on. I tried several times to switch them (phone, on, or airplane off) but unsuccessfull. Morover the touch screen is not getting any command but still the buttons work (phome, home, volume, midbutton). I hardSPL (OlixNet) and then installed a fresh rom (energy). the phone problem persists toghether with the screen problem which is appearing even immediatelly after starting up, or after 10 mins, varies. I also tried to disable the Sense, but same result.
ANother thing i have observed is that the battery drains very fast and the back low part of the device is getting warm after trying to use and few restarts..
I will try to give it an HTC rom to see if something's changeing.
Any of you had such issues with it? what should i do?
Thanks guys,
You may want to try mtty:

I could be also a cracked touchscreen in an early stage with a small crack, which happened to me.
Good luck!
Guys,
i too have the same screen problem,i tried changing various rom's still the problem persists. After new rom installation screen calibration needs to b done a number of times to finally start the mobile with home screen.
And then problem appears immediatelly after starting up, or after 10 mins. Touch doesn't respond correctly to my command instead it reads some other commands and finally gets stuck while other harware keeps working perfectly.
so, anybody could short out dis problem.......it seem to b a common problem to many people who keep changing there rom's frequently

Annoying Screen Rotation Issue

If I have the hardware keyboard out and the phone goes into sleep mode and I close the phone, when I hit the power button, I get the issues shown in the attached images. It won't respond to anything unless I open out the keyboard and close it again or, tap on the notification area and close the notification screen. No issues if the phone is not allowed to sleep.
Don't want to hard reset if I can avoid it, anyone else had this issue?
I have never seen my device do this, but I don't think I have ever let my device go to sleep while in landscape.
To avoid this, why don't you just change your backlight settings? While on battery power, set the backlight to turn off if idle for 5 minutes or something. This way you'll never have it fall asleep on you. Unless of course you read extremely slow and a page takes 5 minutes.
Was thinking about increasing the backlight settings for a bit longer. I had that situation by chance last night and tried various things, uninstalling software, bluetooth head set, changed radio, hard reset and even task29 and a new flash, still same issue.
Just starting to get fed up with these little annoyances, would be nice if it just worked, lol.
Wow that's rather odd that you did a hard reset and still had the issue. That would suggest that it is most definitely device specific. Maybe you can call your carrier, and if it's your lucky day they can replace your phone. ??
Why no try Energe ROM, It has no such problem.

constant restart after screen goes off

I was looking for this issue, but could'nt find any infos about it:
Everytime, and I mean EVERYTIME, when the screen turns off and the phone goes in standby, after a few random seconds it restarts...
I have tried disabling fastboot, different wifi sleep settings, wifi and mobile data turned on and off in every constellation, but nothing helps.
Just a few minutes ago I saw the screen attached after it tried to reboot.
Did I just missed the right search term or am I the only one with this sh*t? Does anyone have an advice except returning the phone?

[Q] Help: Wifi, Bluetooth, Screen Rotation stopped working

Hi there,
i couldn't find my problem already discussed via the board search, so i'm posting it here. i hope this is the right board, if not please relocate.
i'm using the find7a since about 1 year now. the only updates i did for colorOS were the ones that have been proposed automatically via the popups. but these i did every time.
i have alwas had several issues with the phone/os, mostly random shutdowns without any reason. but at some point, these shutdowns suddenly declined and i got used to live with the few that still occur from time to time. but now i have a much bigger problem and i don't know where it came from:
few days ago, i got the popup that a new os-update was available. i had a little time so i did it instantly. without any problems the update was installed and after that the phone booted as always and nothing strange happened. 1 day later i recognized that something had changed. i wasn't able to turn on the wifi anymore! same goes for the bluetooth. also the automatic screen rotation (when you turn the phone in a right angle) didn't work anymore! but all of them DID work for the 1 day since i made the last update. so i assumed it has nothing to do with the new os-version (which is 1.2.9 btw). i didn't change anything in the phones settings, everything was the same. but from one moment to the other these three problems suddenly came up. maybe even more that i didn't recognize yet.
although everything worked fine for 1 day since the update, i thought maybe the update could be the problem after all. so i wanted to flash another version of colorOS. i tried the 2.0.8i which was considered stable by the official oppo board admins on friday. the flashing worked fine, colorOS 2.0.8i booted, but the problems remained! still no wifi, no bluetooth, no screen rotation.
next thing i thought: maybe it's a hardware problem. so i flashed another ROM (always making a factory reset + wiping all cashes and data from the internal storage first), i tried a few. they were all flashed successfull but most of them hung up during the first boot sequence (cyanogenmod, paranoid, nameless), i always got stuck in the loading screen. last one i tried was OMNI ROM, and this one finally worked, meaning i got it started. first thing i did was checking the wifi connection and what do you know? the wifi worked just fine, my home network was found immediately und the connection went all good! which means a hardware defect should be out of the question.
this brings me back to thinking the problem lies within colorOS. which would be very sad becaue i really like colorOS and i would like to keep using it!
reproduction of the issues:
to reproduce the problems, when you are on the home screen you simply have to drag down the shortcut-menu. then tap on "wifi" and watch the symbol turn into the one for "loading" (the circling line). and then: nothing happens. the loading symbol just keeps on circling on and on. when you slide the menu up and down again, the normal "wifi-off" symbol shows and wifi is not turned on.
almost the same goes for the bluetooth. only when you tap this icon, the loading animation stops after a few seconds und the "bluetooth-off" icon appers again, this time without sliding the menu up and down. bluetooth stays turned off anyway.
for the rotation problem you just need to got to an app, where you can type in some text, f.e. whatsapp or gmail. tap the message area to make the keyboard and the cursor appear and then turn the phone from vertical to horizontal. normally the display should rotate automatically, but it doesn't it just stays in the vertical view mode. of course the rotation ist activated all the time, so no need to advice that
the rotation problem does not only occur when trying to type sth. in but also when i want to watch videos (f.e. with the vlc player app). the video stays locked in the vertical mode, making the image very small of course. this is also very annoying!
so, what do you think could be the reason for my problems? and what could i do to solve them? i hope you can help me.
i attached a log-file which hopefully shows the bugs.
my current specs are:
find 7a
colorOS 1.2.9
TWRP 2.8.6.0

Pixel not waking up from sleep

Anyone else having issues with the Pixel not waking up from sleep. This happens to me seemingly randomly, at least I have not been able to pinpoint what is causing it. I have to use the power button and volume rocker to hard reboot it. This is my second unit that has done this, and Google just wants to replace it again.
I made a quick video of it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97iho4sHAlc
I have exactly the same problem ...
to boot, I press 10 seconds repeatedly on the power button.
I already had the problem of keyboard update ...
I thought this was solved but sadly it's still around. Suffered from it a few days ago after doing a factory reset about a week ago.

Same here, I finally received the Feb update on my replacement Pixel and thought it was solved... nope.
I bought the Pixel for quick work trips so I did not have to bring my laptop. I take allot of flights in the morning and return that afternoon/evening. The Pixel was going to be used for Presentations, and notes. It is super frustrating when I have the tablet all setup to present and I have to mess with it to get it to turn back on. This thing has way to many problems for a premium tab, and seems like Google has not dedicated the appropriate resources to supporting it (support/dev).
Ah the old "Sleep of Death" it seems to have plagued (mostly) tablets for years. I've had it happen on my Asus Transformer T101 years ago and it also happened on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5". I haven't had it happen yet in the months I've owned the Pixel, but I have had some odd issues where I press the power button to turn it on and it shows the unlocked boot warning for literally a second and then turns off/reboots, when it does that I have to hold the power button for like 10 seconds to force a reboot and then it boots up fine.

I use the pattern to unlock my device. For years on my Asus TF201 (which had occasional severe performance problems), I would occasionally turn it on, get nothing for several seconds, and then get the pattern unlock screen for a fraction of a second, and then it would sleep. Sometimes if I drew the pattern really fast it would unlock it. Othertimes, I think I just rebooted it.
With the Google Pixel C, I (perhaps foolishly) continued the pattern unlock approach. It usually works fine. But occasionally, I will get the pattern unlock screen soon enough, enter the pattern, and it will do nothing for several seconds (just frozen on the pattern screen with my drawn pattern) and then go to sleep. If I try this repeatedly, sometimes once it will actually let me in. Otherwise I reboot and try again.

I do not use the pattern lock, I do secure it with a passcode though. My issue does not seem to be related to the security though as it does it at random times and never display the login prompt.
still having both random reboots and screen blackouts. This is a shame google will not acknowledge the problem and say they're fixing it. It only makes me believe that they know about it yet CANT fix it. Like its a hardware issue more than a software one. At least if they would say "we are aware of the issue and working on a fix" or "we were working on a fix but now working just a big OS update instead" Id feel like I wasnt ripped off by them. I mean I have EVERY nexus device box still displayed in my hobby room at my house. Im a huge fan but this is really bad.
Joined beta N program, hopefully this issue is resolved on the Pixel C.
