vivaldi / chromium / bromite browsers - cannot tap download in dialogue box - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Using vivaldi as my browser. When I download a file and the location dialogue box is presented I cannot tap download. Cancel works, just not download. With chromium browsers the first file you download still presents the location box even with don't ask location ticked in settings. Chrome is OK as by default files download to download.
Tried with bromite, chromium and the both have the issue on my S20. Firefox is OK and my old pixel3 was fine
Anyone else confirm this?

Chrome ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED error help!

I get this stupid error where it won't load a webpage until I hit refresh a couple times. Just started happening
WiFi, mobile data or both?
Does it only happen in the browser, or in other apps requiring data as well?
Which browser are you using?
Have you tried another browser?
Does it only happen with one, or certain websites? Or all websites?

[Q] downloading apks in webview

my cordova/phonegap app automatically checks for updates. when it finds one, a window.open() in javascript brings up an update page. this page contains a button to download the latest APK. When the user clicks the install button, nothing happens. The install button is a form submit that attempts to download the APK through the action URL. This bug occurs on android 4 and 5. is there something about the webview I should know in order to enable submit buttons or downloading APKs? or something else I'm missing? also, the link is an HTTP link--no ssl is being used, so it's not a cert issue.

Click to collapse
Can you display the code for the form?
Perhaps do a check on the final url being downloaded (the file) -- and if you use chrome, make sure your settings are not blocking downloads. It can honestly only be one of the two for the "most part" .
Are you just downloading the file, or are you trying to get it to actually install and update automatically?
Unfortunately, if option B, due to security reasons, google and MOST browsers block this from happening .

Firefox 53.0.3 has broken the forum

After updating FFox to the latest this forum now only works when I right click links and "open in new tab" (or middle clock them, does the same thing.
Direct clicking a link has FFox just sitting there doing nothing.
Anyone else seen this?
I have not seen this at all. It has to be your settings
Just updated to Firefox 55.0.2 on Samsung Tab-A, stock device, using Google Playstore. This has completely broken Firefox, I cannot even open a bookmarked page. Tried all the usual tricks. I notice that the "settings" menu option is grayed out, and pressing "quit" menu option in Firefox does nothing. Application Manager says Firefox version is 55.0.2. This update of Firefox has basically *bricked* Firefox. I cannot even open a bookmarked webpage. Confirmed: I cannot open *ANY* page! Version on Google Playstore, where I updated, says version is also 55.0.2 (date Aug. 17, 2017). I just updated Firefox this morning. Previous version was 40.0.0.3 which worked well, and would play Flash video (with the last Android Flash driver Adobe made). I use (used..) the Tab-A + Firefox as my daily, go-to device, carried it around, linking to Wifi, trading, banking, email, etc. Firefox has all these critical bookmarks for me. This update has basically destroyed my device, as now, I can't even open a webpage! (Confirmed via Chrome that I have full web access, it works fine - EXCEPT, Chrome will not play Flash video, so I have NO access to my library of .flv videos. Arrgh...) I also had ABP installed on Firefox 40.0.0.3, and it worked well.
Posting this as warning: If running older Firefox 40.0.03 (which works well on Android 6.0.1), do NOT upgrade to 55.0.2 at this time. Date: Sept. 13, 2017.
