From very weird shop that sell phones only for cash with no waranty for really cheap, i bought many phones from them already and no problems, i think their supplier is doing weird things. Thats not a question, do you knew anything about unlocking on that phone? As i knew its not a mdm.

Does anyone unlock boot on s20 already? What i need to do to get oem unlock in developer options?

Nobody here can help you unlock a phone bought from a 2nd hand source, that appears to be not a legitimate sale. Sounds like Samsung is still owed for that phone

So you kinda answered your own question then. Hope you got it REAL CHEAP!!

So you leased a phone! Didn't pay for the next month, otherwise known as a never pay and now you want help?
Lol.

[Q] Should I....?

Hello, i've been using a tmo SGSII for a while.
I was going to change into GN when it comes out for TMO later.
but it seems i've been waiting forever for it, and i'm giving up.
I'm trying to buy a unlocked GSM version of GN.
i'm thinking of buying GN from here
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...4353?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item2c642a7221#rpdId
just because it's in US, and it'll be easier for me to sent it back if there's any problem.
Do you think it's okay for me to buy GN around this time?
or should i just wait for the SGSIII in... like Q4? (i don't mind buying both of them)
plus, i heard unlocked gsm GNs' are OS locked, where you cannot upgrade the software via OTA.
is this true? or this doesn't matter? would i be able to get an OTA without any problem? or do i have to use a 3rd party program? or i can't simply do it?

Sorry, not true. Just because you're buying it from a seller in the US doesn't mean that Samsung Europe will honor your warranty. If you want a guarantee (or as close to a guarantee as you'll get with a grey market device) of having a manufacturer warranty, choose a reputable US-based importer (not a random eBay seller) that will help facilitate the warranty exchange with Samsung. Samsung Europe will (most likely) not deal with a US customer directly because the phone is not sold here.

This is not true... Not sure what you're talking about. The entire point of buying unlocked phones is so that you can still receive the updates OTA without waiting for carriers to approve them. The Galaxy Nexus receives OTAs just fine.

i'm not talking about a warranty. i never get warranty, for anything. i take care of my electronic devices well (more like worshiping god lol. every single one of electronic devices that i ever had lived way over their life expectancy)
i'm talking about the amount of time for the phone to get to me. it should be way faster than from the overseas, correct?
also, it says i should get my money back if i return it within 7 days, and only one or two day is needed for me to figure out if there is anything wrong with the phone.
also, feedback of this seller is quite good
oh, can you tell me any reputable us based importer just in case ?
how does this look??

samsung galaxy s3 locked by t-mobile.

Please help me with this problem, i bought 1 samsung galaxy s3 t999 of t-mobile from 1 guy on craiglist.com 3 months ago, for the 1st 3 months, the phones work fine, but just last 4 days, my phone can not call, text or internet (i used prepaid plan $50/month from t-mobile), then i called t-mobile technician support 5, 6 times, after all they said my phone locked by t-mobile, because the owner of the phone didn't pay the bills, they said my phone right now can not using anymore, except i can find the onwer, i tried some unlock code of some website on internet, but it didn't works, either, i hopfully anyone here can help me with this, thanks alot.
Odds are he bought the phone on EIP, sold it and pocketed the difference and just recently cancelled out his contract. Your best bet is probably to sell the phone on craigslist to someone not on T-Mobile. I haven't heard about any solution to this problem.
Only solution is to use it on at&t or another SIM company. Imei has been blocked out on T-Mobile network. That's what the code you bought is for. To use it with another carrier.

You are screwed. Buy an unlock code, unlock it and use it on AT&T or sell it to someone that can.

Now im concern too because i just got a bnew T999 s3 sealed for $450 on craigslist 2 weeks ago.. I hesitated at first because it's too cheap but seller needs the money badly she says so i bite because phone is sealed with no problems..
Should i be worried? i still have the sellers email and phone number, do you think its a good idea to ask her?.. Will it also work if i go to a t-mobile store and ask them to verify the imei of my purchased phone?
Thanks all in advance for the reply..

This seems to be happening more and more with new phones, and a reason that Ebay is a good option since they offer buyer (and seller) protection.
I am not saying you were scammed, but think of this:
You have the sellers temporary phone # she got from the local prepaid store, and an email she made that day? What is that going to do now? Do you know where the seller lives, or their real name? The two items you are saying you have may not be that effective to trace back to the seller.
However, I wish you the best of luck and no problems.
When will people learn.. 95% of the time Craigslist ='s bad.

How much is the cheapest unlock code for my device? And where to get it? I dont usually buy expensive stuff on CL but this S3 i got is a steal... I might sell it now before it gives me headache in a few months..
If you are going to spend $400-500 on a phone from Craigslist, you might as well just save up for another $100-150 to buy it a from a reputable seller. IE Ebay, Amazon...etc.
But yah, phones on Craigslist = trouble.
Sorry to hear man.. i know your pain
Unlock the phone. Tmobile will even do it for you since they don't bother looking up the status of the phone when they ask you to. This happened to me before and it sucks, but that's what happens when you don't trust your gut. =/ (even sometimes when you do you're wrong)
SO
Unlock it.
Sell it to someone who can use it on ATT.
and get yourself a replacement through a better way..
Cheapest unlock ive found is 7.99 dollars on ebay. You have to let the person access your pc via remote access and let him unlock your connected phone via usb. search ebay "t999 unlock".

Not to be a debbie downer, but if you got it for $450 when they sell for more it's likely going to be blacklisted. Everyone on CL says they need money.
So is this a new thing T-Mobile is doing, or a GSIII thang. Never heard of them being able to lock a phone out of the system because of a unpaid bill, if it was reported loss or stolen maybe, never heard of this till now tho

Galaxy S4 from Craigslist - IMEI Blacklisted...options?

Hi All,
I searched and saw many threads about a similar problem, but my specific question is what can I do about this as far as getting rid of the phone? I learned my lesson the hard way - I dropped my HTC One and broke it a day before a business trip and I needed a phone. I am planning on switching to T-mobile in a month when my AT&T contract is up, so I decided to purchase a T-mobile variant of the Galaxy S4 on Craigslist. It was new, sealed, and cost $500 from what seemed like a somewhat reputable seller.
I got the phone and all was great. It was unlocked and worked perfectly with my AT&T SIM. I got home from the business trip, put in a T-mobile prepaid SIM card (so I could test the service at my house before switching) and got the dreaded "Not registered on network" error message when I tried to make a call. Sure enough, T-mobile said the IMEI had been blacklisted for "fraudulent activity." I believe the seller opened an account and then simply didn't pay the bill for the phone. I've bought quite a few used phones, but I learned my lesson this time. I even asked T-mobile if I could pay the remaining balance, or if they even wanted the phone back. I received a prompt "no" to each question. I asked if the phone was "stolen" and they said no as well - it was marked as fraudulent, but not lost of stolen. Whatever they want to call it, it don't work!
So my question is this (and sorry for the long-winded vent): can I sell this phone? I just want it gone. I look at it and I get angry and upset with myself for making this mistake. I know I will lose a ton of $$$, but I would rather sell it on eBay while FULLY disclosing the phone's history and let someone overseas use it or someone on AT&T use it. Am I violating any rules by doing this as long as I fully disclose everything I know? Also, if this is the wrong forum, I apologize. Thank you for any insight and to save you all the trouble - yes I screwed up and I'm an idiot. But, I'm not the thief here. I sure wish I could get a hole of the seller!

i had the same happen to me this weekend i bought a sealed s4 from cl i also payed 500$ it was for great for 3 weeks up until this weekend i wasn;t getting 4g data so i called tmobile and they told me that that they blocked the imei sue to the person deciding not to pay for the phone..i learned my lesson NEVER TO BUY any phones from Cl. i went to the store and paid retail price for a s4 and i have the receipt just in case tmobile comes back and try to screw me

Hey Collin. I had a similar issue with an HTC one being blacklisted but thankfully I bought it from eBay and their buyers protection came into play and I got a full refund. Because blacklisting is a very effective way to lose a heck load of money, I now suggest not getting phones from craisgslist or actually meeting at a carrier store to check phone status before the purchase is made. I'd stick to buying on eBay or swappa..now my suggestion is selling the phone overseas where the blocked imei doesn't really work. That would be the best option for now and you'll lose money but because it is basically a relatively new phone, you should not loose too much. Hope this helps.

Thank you guys for the thoughts. It's terrible that this sort of thing happens and personally, I wouldn't risk jail for 500 bucks. Hell, I wouldn't risk jail for any amount of money. It just blows me away that these people do this.
I guess what I will likely do is list it on eBay internationally with a full disclosure. Thankfully, my HTC One repair is finally complete and the phone should be back in my hands any day now. But, it's the developer edition and doesn't work well on T-mobile, so I'm back to square one for a T-mobile phone!
Anyway, sorry that this happened to you guys as well. It's just not as simple as it used to be, is it. Though I guess blacklisting has been used for a while now.

i listed mine on ebay with full disclosure and its not looking good..so far i have 4 days left in the auction and 1 day has passed & no one bid on it yet lol your best bet to purchase a new phone is go straight through tmobile unless you want to risk swappa or ebay then a month later if they cancel or don;t pay for the phone for it to happen again ... i would n;t risk it

I appreciate that information. Unfortunately from my limited research, I think this thread will get locked if we even go down that road since it is illegal. Argh.

Wow. that sucks so much. The worst I have experienced in craigslist is some guy tried to scam me out of an iPod touch that i found. I still remember the email. It said something along the lines of:
Can you please send this device to my son in Africa? I will pay you full price for the phone + $50 dollars of shipping!
I knew it was a fake because 1) the email they sent was a very random email. (like [email protected]) and 2) PHONE? it's not a phone. thats how i knew that he was scamming multiple people and just copying and pasting.
Oh craigslist is full of scammers and idiots.
Yeah that's what these scammers are doing, buy the phone on a payment plan and not make the payment. A lot of times unknowing buyers get the phone and it will work for a month till payment is due but not paid. I see great deals on CL but steer clear.
The best thing to do is unlocked the device and sell it Internationally via eBay. I have a GS3 in my possesion that my wife's little brother bought from CL and was later blacklisted since the person reported it stolen two hours later after he took the cash.

I'll buy it for parts. If interested inbox me. Thanks!
I had the same damn thing happen but with a Galaxy S2 a while back. What I had to do is buy a used motherboard from a cracked screen one on eBay. Spent way more on the phone than I intended but all I did was switch the motherboards and voila. Good as new.

Possible to sim unlock even if carrier says not eligable?

Hi all,
Just got a 3 XL, bought it from a Best Buy marketplace seller in Canada, said it was unlocked but when I put my sim in says contact network to unlock, nothing about entering a code like I've seen on locked phones before.
Contacted Sprint in US who found it from the EMEI and say it's not eligable for unlocking as it's either stolen or someone stopped paying their contract and sold it.
Is there any way of unlocking still or am I going to have to return it?
Thanks!

he is correct. per sprint policy device needs to b paid in full and active for 50 days and acct needs to b in good standing before theyll unlock a device.
not to mention sounds like u dunno who the previous owners were. Sprint cannot provide u with any specific information attached to the previous owner for security reasons. This means u cant find out how much is owed or who to contact or anything.
Also to add, this sounds very suspicious.. ur saying a best buy retailer sold u a sprint device that was blacklisted or not paid off by another person? I would take it back n get ur money lol i nvr heard of them selling devices that r attached to someone else with unpaid balance or w.e the case is...if they took it in a trade or something they usually will check to see if its free and clear to avoid these types of situations..

Contact Boost Mobile and ask if they can unlock it for you.

They said they need the previous phone number and pin to do it.
I am seeing these brand new on ebay for $60 the Boost version. We need to find a cheap or free unlock method
You can get it unlocked for about $30 which is cost prohibitive for most of us, since you can just get an unlocked phone for the same or less as the combined price of the phone and the code. I found that unlock company just searching in google.

So I made the mistake of buying a phone from eBay. It's a Boost Mobile phone on Moto G7 play of course. Is there a way to unlock this thing. I really need my phone service with this coronavirus crap going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Long shot but have you tried flashing the retail firmware?
They said the phone must be active on boosts network for a year or they can't unlock it
Just pay attention to what you are buying in the future. I HAVE bought so many phones on ebay and had almost all of them were a good deal. Samsung S4, s4 mini, HTC M8, and 9, Blu Vivo XI+, Moto X4 (2 of them) Moto G Power, I just bought and LG G7 last night.
I made money on some of these because they had software issues and I repaired them at no cost to myself (Moto X4 like new for $30, repaired and I Sold it for $90 as example.
So the problem is you did not pay attention to what you were buying, that can happen anywhere with any seller or retailer
Either return it or sell it yourself on ebay. Pay attention to the details when you make a purchase next time whether it's on ebay, walmart crauigslist, BOOSt, Verizon, etc.
Kind of like a friend I Know bought a brand new Samsung Note 20 Ultra at US Cellular for $1300 then was complaining they can't get 5g in their town. It is no surprise hardly anyone has 5G, but it was a surprise to him I guess because he wasn't researching or paying attention to the details. The devil's in the details you know?
Best to research it first he could brick the device? I doubt it's that easy to unlock it that way. It would be nice if it was though
