Please can anybody tell us if it is possible? Perhaps we can use the galaxy s method?

galaxy s method not working
i tried galaxy s method on galaxy s5570 (mini) and it's not working for me. it keeps telling me when i try step 1 that i have busybox problems. i also tried titanium backup to update my busybox and still not working. i am waiting for a solution. thx

1. install samsung kies on your PC for so that you have the galaxy mini's drivers installed.
2. google for SuperOneClick v1.9.1 and download it (sorry i do not have sufficient post count to post links) [note that superoneclick will trigger some antivirus, but from my experience it is safe]
3. make sure your galaxy mini is in USB debugging mode
4. connect your galaxy mini to your pc via USB cable. Do not turn on USB storage on your phone. Just connect your USB cable and leave it.
5. Run SuperOneClick and click on the 'root' button. Respond to any pop up accordingly.
6. reboot your phone and it should be rooted, check your app drawer for the 'superuser' app to confirm (if it's there, it's rooted)
Disclaimer: I will not be responsible for anything that happens on your phone during the rooting process. Please do it at your own risk. You can google it to check that SuperOneClick does work on galaxy mini for many users already. I have personally rooted my mum's galaxy mini using SuperOneClick last week.
*after rooting you can install AdFree from the android market to block irritating ads on free apps, especially angry birds. It will make angry birds run more smoothly.

Super One Click root works fine for 2.2.1 Samsung GT-S5570 phone i personally tried for it...It uses a super forking method...people says that it is harmful for your phone but dnt mind...I also tried for 2.3.4 on the same piece...but need to wait a bit from developers...I will give u updates about this stuff...Thanks

you cannot unlock s5570 only rooting it.

Root is not equivalent to unlock!!!

GT-S5570 network unlock
Deblocare network S5570 Samsung Galaxy Mini
Rootati tel-ul cu superoneclick, instalati superuser, terminal emulator. Cu terminal emulator executati urmatoarele comenzi:
su
dd if=/dev/block/stl5 of=/sdcard/stl5.rfs
Copiati in calculator fisierul stl5.rfs. Instalati MagicIso cu care deschideti stl5.rfs. In directorul MITS gasiti fisierul PERSO.txt. Deschideti cu notepad sau view cu dreapta mouse si veti gasi in partea de jos un cod din 8 cifre. Notati-l.
Deschideti terminal emulator si dati comanda:
su
dd if=/sdcard/stl5.rfs of=/dev/block/stl5
Dati restart. Lasati sa porneasca cu sim-ul original, dati restart.
Puneti sim-ul nou, porniti, va apare un ecran in care veti introduce cele 8 cifre. Aveti mare grija la introducere sa nu gresiti. Apare mesaj ca ati deblocat cu succes codul de retea.

SAFE METHOD
Perhaps it is better practise to follow this road for getting the codes:
- adb shell
- su
- dd if=/dev/block/stl5 of=/sdcard/stl5.rfs
Then use ULTRAISO or similar to examine /sdcard/stl5.rfs as FAT16 image file.

Nonetheless, there's nothing special regarding VF Ro users or any other network carriers. I just followed these steps:

Copied the stl5.rfs on my computer, opened it up with WinImage (obviously, any other application that can read FAT images would work just as good) and went to /mits/perso.txt.
It's full of gibberish, but do keep in mind that the 8-digit number is the unlock code. Note it down on a paper or something, power down the phone, get its sim out, power it on (don't insert any other sim). Mine went to ARM11 recovery mode (shows the samsung logo and says that on the top left). Should it do that, just throw the battery out and back in, then power it up again. The phone will boot up normally and now run

wait for it to end, power down the phone, insert a sim that would send the phone in its network locked mode, and se that 8-digit number. That's all about it, you now have an unlocked phone.

there is no safe free way to unlock that phone... you have a couple of options to unlock it to all networks..
1 get code from your provider
2 buy unlock code from some code site
3 unlock phone via original micro-usb cable at www.UnlockSamsungOnline.nl
4 unlock phone via some servicebox
5 go to gsm shop and get it unlocked there
as you only have one phone i think option 3 is best for you.

Actually there is a free and safe way,btud63 just told us in this page,for me it worked the first part in Romanian language,but the second part in English is kind of same thing.
So if you are not able to do that i will translate to you again from Romanian.

Hi all.
I used this method from the terminal of my running gt-5570.
I know this is the wrong method because we need to be connected in restore mode with adb to do that.
Now my phone don't boot (boot loop in the first samsung logo)
i still have access to download mode , to emergency dload mode and to ram dump mode.
I tried to reflash with odin several times and with several roms but no success.loop boot won't go.
I think that i damaged efs , i have a backup but i don't know how to recover it with odin.
Any idea?
(i don't have the phone bill so samsung won't repare it)

[SOLVED] Rooting HDC Galaxy Note 2 Mega (MTK6577)

Just recently I bought the "HDC Galaxy Note 2" off of fastcardtech. I got it a few days ago, am fairly pleased with it except for the slight miscalibrated touch screen. There are some apps on various markets aiming to fix this by re-applying new calibrations. The problem is that you'll have to be rooted in order to run them.
The phone comes with a built-in calibration setting, called "Als_ps calibration", which you can utizile to correct the sensor. Alas, it only corrects the phone's recognition of obstacles placed above it, so that you accidentaly wouldn't press any undesired button during a call.

I just created the cwm recovery and root. The link is on my blog. The zip file is password protected so be sure to get it from my blog page.

After you have clockwork mod recovery, use it to flash the root access into the phone.

The one I got did not have that screen calibration problem. Everything works good. Anyway, root is available now.

Extra Guide
Follow the link provided by GT35pro in his first post.
To everyone attempting this flash;
!! First of all, copy the Superuser.zip to the root of your internal phone memory or external SD Card.!!
* Use a high-quality mini-USB cable (The one that comes with your phone should work just fine)
* Connect your MEGA to your pc, without the battery inserted.
(This device will connect and disconnect, when it's visible, be sure to grab it and follow the next step)
* Make sure that you have the right drivers for MTK65xx preloader "mtk65xx Vcom driver" and install them through the Device Manager.
* Insert your battery again, with the cable still connected, and install the second MTK65xx preloader.
* Disconnect phone from pc and remove the battery
* Start up Smart flash Tool and select the scatter file included in the package.
* Now, select and tick the checkbox for Recovery only. Smart Flash Tool will complain about the flash, due to it not containing all the appropriate files needed for a "secure boot". Nevermind that pop-up and proceed with downloading.
* Start Download
* Insert the battery and connect your phone to your pc, with that, the flashing should start.
* Boot Phone into recovery mode (pwr button and vol - or vol +) and install superuser from ZIP-file.
* After reboot you should be rooted.

Fun Fact!
I actually managed to install a pre-rooted HDC S7100 rom on my MEGA.
The port isn't 100% accurate
-Invalid IMEI, this was fixed by Talkingmobile's guide; " how to write imei number for MTK 65XX " -Just google it!
-Auto-rotation is unavailable, no fix yet.
-Als_pl calibration is unavailable (resulting in active screen during call)
Besides that, the rom is arguably better than the MEGA's original N7100 rom, in terms of visual presentation.
Smooth transitions, vivid and vibrant colors would be a good example of aspects that would come out as improved over the original rom.

S_ft_need_download_all_fail (4050)
I'm trying for several days, but always get this error in the flash tool: S_FT_NEED_DOWNLOAD_ALL_FAIL (4050)
Tried on Windows 7 x64, Windows 7 x32 and Windows XP SP3 (x32). Only on the Windows XP computer I was able to make a backup with Flash Tool using the Read Back option.
When I try to flash the red bar goes to 100% then the error message shows...
Does anyone get this error aswell, and did someone manage to solve this?
Please help, I'm in desperate need for root because I need touch screen calibration.

YES! SUCCES!! I managed to root my HDC Mage :laugh: Did use another method though, check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490 if you are interested.
Anyway, now back to calibrating the touchscreen. What tools are good do fix touchscreen issues? I already tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=934500, but I still am not satisfied.

Because I tried to order 5 different phones from China including Fastcardtech; they couldn't ship for some reason; even got an empty box from ZOPO mobile. I ended up buying the BLU here in the US, I'm kind of glad it happened, since now I have an N'vidia Tegra 4 CPU, that runs circles around the dual-core phones.
I did order one more phone on ebay from China, been waiting for 2 weeks now. MAKES ME WONDER IF THEY EVEN ACTUALLY SHIP TO THE US AT ALL?
Thank to Paypal I was able to get refunded everytime.

I took out the battery then connect it to the pc and open device manager, it show mtk65xx preloader then the phone disconnect its self and connect back every two seconds is there a way to fix this pls

I can Install all necessary drivers, when I Power OFF phone and connect it to my PC, in device manager it can show MT65xx Preloader (Com 9) connected n within 3 sec it can be disconnected.... in SP Flash Tool i can select recovery then press download button... then again i can connect phone, it's give me some 80xx error. it's mean that device not connect.

An 80Xx error does not always mean device not connected. It can also mean there is something not right in the scatterfile (error 8038). You should take a look at the sp flash tool logfiles. You can post them here so I can have a look.

There is something wrong in the layout of the scatterfile. Can you post the logiles of sp flash tool? Just zip them all together.
I have had the exactly the same error with my HDC Mage. I just had to rename a small section of the scatterfile and then it was all good.

(FIX)(SOLVED) Deleted or Injected IMEI and No signal or stock on Edge

I'm not 100% sure this solution its going to work for You!
But At least and after three days working with my Galaxy S3 i747 (AT&T), its the solution that works for Me.
In Three days I search the forums and test every possible solutions for the No signal or stuck on Edge problem after my IMEI get deleted after an CM10.1 update. I have been flashing roms for a long time already, and knowing the risks of doing it, I have done something very irresponsible, I had not ever make an update of my IMEI or EFS folder. What an Error!!! Yes, Yes, I know, My Bad! But I learn my lesson. But for the Spanish speakers out there "Sarna con gusto no pica" Sorry my English fellas I don't know how to translate that sentence.
First off all I'm not responsible for any of the actions the procedures here can make to Your already Wi-fi phone. Well If You are reading this, trust me, this procedures can make the phone a brick! At least You can Use Wi-fi Now!! With that said and with a little bit of humor to bring down Your emotional state lets begin:
- First, Don't trust Your emotions right now, anything can be worst. Try other solutions first, before attempt this one. Use this solution as Your last resort. Before doing anything else, No Mather what, Make an IMEI and EFS Folder Backup, before attempt this, Even with the Condition of Your Phone right now! DO IT!!!.
- For this procedure to work, You need to make or have a Donor of an NV_items backup (QCN File) from another working phone, I don't know, just ask a friend that trust You! His Identical Phone and make a backup of He's. This its the most important part. I have No idea if its going to work if the phone its from another network, or its another model, but that's a thing I'm not going to recommend To DO! But After All, ITS ALL YOUR's!!!
- Get QPST, NV reader/writer, and nv_gen as its the software You are going to need!!!
Another Good Tool its EFS Professional 2.0
--- THIS COULD BE ILLEGAL IN SOME PLACES ---
Procedure:
0. !Important !Important -- REMOVE THE SIM CARD FROM YOUR PHONE-- !Important !Important
1. One more time, Make a EFS Folder and IMEI backup!!! - For the EFS folder You can Use Root Explorer from Your Phone.
For the IMEI, Look Under Your Phone Battery or Press *#06# on Your Phone dial.
2. On Your Phone: Dial *#7284# and select "Qualcomm USB Settings" then check "RMNET + DM + MODEM".
3. Use QPST to make A nv items backup of Your phone. The Result its going to be a QCN file.
4. On The Good and Working Phone: (Your Friends One), repeat steps 1 and 3. then When the backup finish (and remember put a good name to the file, like: MyLoveFriendPhoneBK_Cause_Hes_So_Good.qcn)
Dial *#7284# and select "Qualcomm USB Settings" then check "MTP + ADB". , At this stage You can give Your friend He's phone Back.
Continue whit your Phone:
5. Open QPST and Restore the File You have just create (the one from Yours friend phone: MyLoveFriendPhoneBK_Cause_Hes_So_Good.qcn ).
By the time it finish Your phone and Your fried's, are already One!! Basically the procedure Clone he's phone into yours, fixing the NV_Items that maybe lost or corrupt. So Remember the 0 Stept, Remove Your Sim card!!! this is because We don't want Twins Phone's in the same network, First ITS ILEGAL, Second Your Friend Its going to be in trouble, Or Maybe You!!! I'm Not Shure about this one. But Anyways doit just in case.
6. Open nv_Gen and Generate a file for Your Phone IMEI. The Result its going to be a .txt file.
7. Open NV reader / writer and Inject the IMEI into Your phone. Then Reboot Your phone.
8. When The phone boots, Use the code on Step 1 to check The IMEI, If its Your's, be welcome and turn off your phone and insert again Your SIM card!.
9. At this point Your phone Should Be working as NEW!!! At least Mine Was....
10. Before End This, Again Make Another Backup Of your Phone with QPST, This time whit the corrected nv_Items.
Well That's all for my first Post ever in the forums. Sorry for not put a lot explanations of the procedures in between like QPST or NV_Gen or NV reader / writer. In Three days I search the forums and test every possible solutions for the No signal or stuck on Edge problem after my IMEI get deleted after an CM10.1 update. At least You can Use Wi-fi Now!! With that said and with a little bit of humor to bring down Your emotional state lets begin:
- First, Don't trust Your emotions right now, anything can be worst. Try other solutions first, before attempt this one. Use this solution as Your last resort. Before doing anything else, No Mather what, Make an IMEI and EFS Folder Backup, before attempt this, Even with the Condition of Your Phone right now! DO IT!!!.
- For this procedure to work, You need to make or have a Donor of an NV_items backup (QCN File) from another working phone, I don't know, just ask a friend that trust You! His Identical Phone and make a backup of He's. This its the most important part. I have No idea if its going to work if the phone its from another network, or its another model, but that's a thing I'm not going to recommend To DO! But After All, ITS ALL YOUR's!!!
- Get QPST, NV reader/writer, and nv_gen as its the software You are going to need!!!
Another Good Tool its EFS Professional 2.0
--- THIS COULD BE ILLEGAL IN SOME PLACES ---
Procedure:
0. !Important !Important -- REMOVE THE SIM CARD FROM YOUR PHONE-- !Important !Important
1. One more time, Make a EFS Folder and IMEI backup!!! - For the EFS folder You can Use Root Explorer from Your Phone.
For the IMEI, Look Under Your Phone Battery or Press *#06# on Your Phone dial.
2. On Your Phone: Dial *#7284# and select "Qualcomm USB Settings" then check "RMNET + DM + MODEM".
3. Use QPST to make A nv items backup of Your phone. The Result its going to be a QCN file.
4. On The Good and Working Phone: (Your Friends One), repeat steps 1 and 3. then When the backup finish (and remember put a good name to the file, like: MyLoveFriendPhoneBK_Cause_Hes_So_Good.qcn)
Dial *#7284# and select "Qualcomm USB Settings" then check "MTP + ADB". , At this stage You can give Your friend He's phone Back.
Continue whit your Phone:
5. Open QPST and Restore the File You have just create (the one from Yours friend phone: MyLoveFriendPhoneBK_Cause_Hes_So_Good.qcn ).
By the time it finish Your phone and Your fried's, are already One!! Basically the procedure Clone he's phone into yours, fixing the NV_Items that maybe lost or corrupt. So Remember the 0 Stept, Remove Your Sim card!!! this is because We don't want Twins Phone's in the same network, First ITS ILEGAL, Second Your Friend Its going to be in trouble, Or Maybe You!!! I'm Not Shure about this one. But Anyways doit just in case.
6. Open nv_Gen and Generate a file for Your Phone IMEI. The Result its going to be a .txt file.
7. Open NV reader / writer and Inject the IMEI into Your phone. Then Reboot Your phone.
8. When The phone boots, Use the code on Step 1 to check The IMEI, If its Your's, be welcome and turn off your phone and insert again Your SIM card!.
9. At this point Your phone Should Be working as NEW!!! At least Mine Was....
10. Before End This, Again Make Another Backup Of your Phone with QPST, This time whit the corrected nv_Items.
Well That's all for my first Post ever in the forums. Sorry for not put a lot explanations of the procedures in between like QPST or NV_Gen or NV reader / writer. I'm in a Rush!!!, Just do a little search and You are going to find the procedures to the respective tools. Anyway if You are reading this, Its possible You already known how to used them.

I don't have the exact problem as this topic is discussing, but I don't have signal either and was wondering if I can get help from you guys.
Background: Before my trip overseas the phone was working perfectly, but after my trip overseas (where I had my phone unlocked locally) my phone lost signal and data and I was never able to get it back.
I turn on the phone and 99% of the time I have no signal or data... But my phone recognizes its on AT&T.
My phone is currently on stock
-Android version: 4.3
-Baseband version: 1747UCUEMJB
-Kernel version: 3.0.31-2024954, [email protected] #1, Thu Oct 31 01:05:53 KST 2013
-Build number: JSS15J.I747UCUEMJB
my IMEI is also still intact.
I have tried getting a new sim as well as using my brother's sim to see if the problem lied in my the sim or phone.. but it is indeed something wrong with the phone.

How to get into Qualcomm diagnostic mode?

Hello there.
I have been having the 'stupidly set baseband to USA and unable to change back' issue with my Nexus 5x, using a European version. I live in Croatia, so as you would imagine this has meant a complete loss of signal/mobile operator/3g etc.

I have exhausted other options and have come to the realisation that as per other users issues with other phones that the use of QPST tools and using a clean QCN file to inject into my phone is the only course of action left. However, I have no knowledge of such things (not to say that I am unable to inform myself).
I emailed a developer with regards to users issues with Nexus 5 phones (not 5x), and he said that I need to enter this mode on my phone.
Could anyone help me out with this, and in general with this issue? As some have tried to help but unfortunately my thread has more of my own replies than other users. (In elaborating on steps taken to resolve my misery).
I am not looking for a 'one button fix', I have educated myself far and beyond with regards to this issue, I just need some more expert help so that I can sort this out myself.
Please, anyone?

glad you got your probelm fixed dont know if this will help you or others but if you press *#*#4636#*#* your phone will enter a radio diagnostics tool where you can set your preferred network type and also select your radio baseband by using the 3 dots at the top. For my 5X i can select USA BAnd or Band mode 6, Band mode 7.

Thank you for your input. However my phone does not have those options. Only USA band, which led to this week long stress for me. Im going to be able to get a replacement device in the end, so im happy about that, but this issue is unfortunately somewhat of a one way street wherin the usual simple solutions or even more complex adb, fastboot, etc etc things do not bring about any resolutions.
Again, thanks for trying to help but its a phone to phone kind of thing.

But.... If you are really hot on getting the 5x into diagnostic mode to run QPST, QXDM, etc., do this. (I did this on my 5x to obtain the QCN file to check out the NV and EFS items, grab QXDM logs, etc.)
1. Use Heisenberg's most excellent step-by-step tutorial on unlocking the boot loader, rooting the phone, and installing super user apk.
2. Once rooted, connect the phone to a PC and open up adb, then issue the adb shell command.
3. Once in adb shell, type: su -c 'setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb'
4. At this point, you should see a pop up on the phone to authorize super user access. Click to allow access.
5. Now you will probably have to load a driver on the computer for diag access. I got lucky (since I have a mess of drivers on my computer) and the driver loaded automatically. As I recall, my computer selected qcusbser.sys. Seems to be a pretty generic QCOM driver vs. an LG specific driver.
6. You now have diag access. You will have to run steps 2 - 3 after each phone reboot. In other words, these steps aren't "sticky" between reboots.
7. ????

Lenovo S660 Flashing Guide

*This guide is for getting back alive a phone from soft brick issue/Boot loop*
*Note: I am not responsible for any kind of damage to your phone.*
*Because whatever is done, is done by you*
*Read the guide totally before flashing*
*Just follow the instructions properly*
Firstly download & extract MT6582 USB VCOM drivers from the internet
Get the zip of flashing tool & firmware from here

Now you are ready move on for the upcoming process.
1. Now Extract the Lenovo_S660_ROW_S062_141126_(by_xdafirmware.com).zip
2. Then go into the extracted folder and open the Sp flash tool folder.
3. Then open flash_tool.exe from it.
4. Select scatter loading
5. Go inside the extracted folder and go inside the Firmware folder and select MT6582_Android_scatter.txt
6. Now you will see all files loaded.
Be sure you have selected the download only option, never use others!! , if you face a problem tell me
7. As you select the scatter text the software gets all the necessary files that are needed for flashing, it’s because they are in the same folder, so now we can directly continue towards main flashing.
Main flashing
1. Make sure your usb cable is ok.
2. (Confirmation) this guide is for softbrick phones.
Now when you are totally ready.
1. Remove the battery of the phone.
2. now try connecting the phone without battery, keep the device manager open, and the connect the cable to the phone, if you see installing usbvcom driver you are good to go, if you didn't see anything then try with (battery) mostly in my case it was without battery.
i am unsure. please check it. it won't harm your phone, but don't try while flashing try it before flashing. Don't try anything while flashing!!, once you find the method, your computer will be installing driver.(keep the device manager open for better understanding. (if you are still unsure of something, don't start flashing) Ask me anything on facebook - for instant response.
3. once you have installed the driver, and ready to move on.
4. Then click the download button on the software flash tool.
5. Now in seconds it will load files and it will wait for your phone to connect, it will show searching.
7. So now its time for flashing.
Now connect the phone with usb cable(without battery/with battery you have to find out before flashing), it will start flashing, do not make any mistake of removing cable, or else it may hard brick your phone, the download will start if there are no other issues, and total flashing time would be 6 or 10 minutes.
If the flashing went all ok, with no problems then it will show Download Ok.(message Box)
8. Now finally after flashing is 100% done and see download ok, disconnect the phone from the usb cable and remove and re-insert the battery, and power it on, Happy Flashing  :angel:
