Apart from your warranty, you will also lose Samsung Pay and maybe Google Play.

Doh, that autocorrect. I meant Google Pay.

Dont do that!
We dont have more so many custom roms.
Forget it

Not worth it anymore. Magisk is having trouble, so you will loose access to many apps like Google Pay banking apps, most of the Samsung features...If you wanna root get a Pixel.

Alright thanks guys!

These days you lose more than you gain by rooting really, only very few people with very specific needs will bother these days

Lol, subjective answer. Personally I prefer Sony's stupid 'thing' rather than Samsung's TW or Knox.
Yes, tools are there for rooting and not hard, provide if your phone doesn't have Knox or if you don't care about tripping Knox (which has a high chance of voiding warranty at Samsung).

There is even an 'how to' on youtube that shows you how to root the S4 mini, it worked like a charm for me. Yes, I have a tripped knox, although that seems to be gone as soon as you flash a stock rom back.

There are ways around it. But im not going to discuss modded APKs to get around paying for apps. Thats not the intention of this site or what it stands for. Ya got lucky in the past but if you want the game that bad.. pay the guy who spent time making it what hes requesting :\

I understand this trouble you are having may be a challenge to your intellectual abilities .......... But..........
Let me help clear up the confusion..............
..........Downloading apps that someone else paid for, whether you extracted the APK or whatever other method you might have done....... that is Theft .........plain and simple.......
Stealing is bad ........mmmkay? Posting a Question "who can help continue to steal" in XDA is against the Rules of XDA ...........is not very smart and ........not allowed
Buy the app if you like that app .......... most apps these days will disable an app that you stole as security is much improved now.

New to the Zenfone 2

Hey all,
I'm new to the Zenfone 2, coming from the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus so I'm wondering if you can give me your best recommendations as far as rooting and Zen based ROMS. I have the ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition being delivered today. I don't want to mess with anything CM related at the moment until I have had a chance to play with it and until it's bug free, 100%. Thoughts & suggestions???

Welcome to Zen Family!
Root : http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/asus-zenfone-2-flashing-recovery-mode-t3096596
(3.1 Rooting Zenfone 2, Method 3 (1 CLICK ROOT TOOL) - best option in my opinion)
ROM : Prism Barebone V12.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/development/rom-prism2013266073-barebone-v1-t3168872
(if you want bloatfree stock experience)
P.S. Bootloader need to be unlocked and TWRP installed for flashing roms
Cool thanks for the info! I'm looking forward to this device. Bought my gf the 64gb version a couple of months ago and she loves it

If you decide to unlock bootloader, use the unofficial unlocker as it doesn't give ASUS your IMEI and stop OTA's being pushed to you if you decide to stick with stock rom for a while...
Thought I'd mention, once bootloader is unlocked you can't re-lock it...

Thanks! I'll definitely look that up and go through the process
My advice is if you don't want anything so special then don't root it, you can now uninstall almost every of the bloatware without rooting. And the stock rom is good enough I have no complaints, knowing that I was a root addict with my last phone. There only thing that I think makes rooting worthy is the adblock. You can't find any decent non-root adblock.

Well, you can uninstall the 3rd party bloat. You can't uninstall the Asus/Google stuff, but can now disable most of it, which is good enough.
@MikeyLee I thought your name looked familiar! I came from the Mate 2, too. The stock rom has gotten much better over time. Prism Barebones is great, especially if you want a clean slate without going to CM. Also like @ultramag69 said, use the unofficial bootloader unlock method.
For the moment I have 2 months with this cellphone, the 4gb is excellent but the battery is terrible I wait it will solved with android 6.0

Exactly my sentiments regarding rooting. I've had the phone for 9 months and have no reason to root. I use Adguard and it's a very effective no-root adblocker.
My only recommendation echoe rom go check it out i b his forum at echoerom.com
It is stock based but will give you an awesome experience with amazing speed and decent battery life

It did not come with a card but I did already have one. It's the 128GB internal storage, 4GB RAM 2.3mhz Intel Atom
Z3580 processor. There were actually things missing from it but it's brand new and was factory sealed. It was missing the second battery cover and the headset that was supposed to come with it. Kinda pissed about that.

I don't want to return the entire thing and be without it for that long. Just want them to send me the items that were supposed to be included. At this point I think I will contact ASUS. I should have bought it direct from them

ROMs available for Samsung J7 and OnePlus 3

Hello folks,
I know this is a strange request, but it has a simple reason.
I owe an OnePlus 3 for daily use with FreedomOS installed, unfortunately there are no updates anymore for this ROM.
Now I wanted to try different ROMs to find the best for me. Would be great if I could use Moto Play or Samsung J7 for that. The plan is to know exactly what I want and be able to fast flash my OnePlus 3 this way.
Even if I still looking for my next phone, I'm not be able to find it right now. maybe an Huawei or Xiaomi, but that is a different story.
Thanks for your help!

Oh sorry guys was at work when I saw the reply and forgot to reply once I was home. I've since reset my watch so will have to set it up again as it's a workaround mainly dealing with Samsung pay on the watch by downgrading aswell as moving busy box to external SD card from xbin folder. I also hid Samsung services from magisk and hid magisk manager itself running v19.2 but think it worked without having to do that step for me. I can't use it as spay doesn't support my bank or credit cards yet but I'll try and get it working again and post back in the next 1-3 days.
