[HELP] Dexon TV - S68AT02 TV Based (MStar Android) - Philips, Sony, TCL Android TV

I've been searching the web all week and I cant seem to figure a solution for this TV.
So My TV is called Dexon UH55D24SM 55" (4K) It seems like just another rebranded Mstar TV thats based on S68AT02 Board, very similar to many TCL old TV's in terms of UI and firmware, I cant seem to be able to find an exact match for it though, this brand seem to be specifically made to be sold in the Middle East. Its a very horrible Android knockoff TV that cant access google play store since its outdated, but as a standalone panel it looks fine.
My main issue with it is that I bought a Xiaomi Mi Box S and connected it via HDMI, and I cant put the resolution to 4k60Hz unless I go into the "Dexon TV settings and set HDMI to 2.0 instead of the default 1.4"
and then it would work as 4k60Hz no problem.
But whenever I shutdown the TV or even put it in standby mode it would automatically revert HDMI type to 1.4 which then means I have to manually set it to 2.0 and re-change the resolution on the Mi Box everytime I wanna use the TV.
I tried to follow some guides on the russian forum and here that are based off the TCL TV (that seems to have the same board) to try and fix the google play store but It failed and I didn't processed fearing I might brick the TV and since the TV has literally no information about it online that'll be tough to fix.
The Device Firmware: V8-S68AT02-LF1V131
if you google the firmware, you wont find anyone with the LF1V131, most people have other numbers at the end that are used for TCL TV's.
I honestly dont care about its smart functionality anymore I've got the Mi Box S, I just wanna fix the darn HDMI Type, and wondering if its possible to do if theres a way to modify the firmware or whatever.
(Sorry I cant link anything due to not having enough posts on this account)
I found its remote being sold on amazon that works with 10 billion other TV's (TCL/ Raylan / ACONATIC) the remote is called "RC311FMI4 06-531W53-TY02X"

Is there any accessory to show fire content on TV ?

Is there any way i can show any content of my kindle fire on a TV / Monitor ?
Like Playing angrybirds or, playing a Netflix movie or something.
Thanks
No accessory. You might be able to rig something up using an OTG cable and a USB display adapter, but it would be messy and you'd have to hack it together yourself.
But it is coming. The Fire uses an OMAP4 SoC, which means it will be getting support for WiFi Display:

The problem is the WiFi Display standard hasn't been finalized. When it is we'll start seeing support from devices like the AppleTV, and Ti will release the necessary drivers. Then we just have to wait for someone like Hashcode to merge them into the kernel.
Shockingly this is something I can actually answer. What you want to broadcast digital content on your TV is a Roku box. It can play all of the digital content that you usually play on your Fire, though your Fire isn't actually a part of the equation at all. It basically just connects your TV to your WiFi signal and plays from there. It does Netflix, Hulu, and others. The top of the line Roku 2 XS comes with Angry Birds.
You won't have any trouble finding it in a search on Amazon.

Actually, this is a separate piece of hardware, that plays its own content, as you said, there is no connection between the ruku box, my TV and my Kindle fire
Thanks tho, i will google it
Limited Airplay Support
There are apps which will beam via Wi-Fi to an AppleTV Box: iMediaShare Mirage and a few others - but there is no screen mirroring for AngryBirds and such - just beaming of local audio and video content. It works REALLY well though for what it is. I can send a 720p MP4 with no skips and it looks great on a 37" set
I think I saw one person saying that they pair their Kindle up with a Google TV. Idk what the functionality of it is though.

[Q] youtube search acting up in a weird way

Went to search on YouTube for Firetv and the display went (for lack of a better term) wonky.
Has anyone had this happen or know of a way to fix it.
I have already restarted, cleared cache and data.
It's rooted and updates are blocked.
Screenshot to show what it looks like.

I just checked for you. Both my rooted Fire TV running 51.1.1.0_user_511070220 and my unrooted Fire TV running 51.1.3.0_user_513011520 are having the same issue.
I suspect the Fire TV YouTube app is an HTML5 app just loading a slightly modified version of http://youtube.com/tv so if that's the case, it's probably being caused by a bug on their end and will likely get fixed eventually. Not much you can do other than contact YouTube about it.
...or since you have root, install the YouTube HD Mod from XDA forums,as it does not require Google Play components like the normal YouTube app.
Heck, you don't even need root to install it because you could sideload it like any other app!
Gonna come right out and say it,Fire TV versions of YouTube and Twitch SUCK!
Their version of Twitch even lacks the ability to search.
I grabbed the 2.5.0 main version of Twitch (3.0 versions force close on Fire TV),and it works perfectly!
What seals the deal is that you can use keyboard and mouse for better compatibility with sideloaded apps, all without needing root!
Both sideloaded YouTube and Twitch work just fine when you got a keyboard like my Logitech K400r.

Keep FireTV Stick running with TV in stand-by mode? SOLVED!

Hi, I'm facing a problem with my shiny new FireTV stick, preventing it to be used as intended:
I've been using a chromecast stick to listen to online radio streams without problems. That chromecast was connected to a HDMI-audio extractor, comparable to this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B013WOLL44/
The audio extractor is connected to the tv (video + audio) and to a stereo amplifier (audio only). That way I can listen to audio streams on my stereo, with the TV in stand-by mode.
When I got myself a FireTV stick about a week ago, I replaced my old chromecast with it. So now the FTVS is connected to the HDMI-audio extractor.
But the FTVS enters sleep mode as soon as I switch the tv into stand-by mode (using the tv remote). So it seems to be impossible to listen to radio streams without the tv switched on.
Is there anything I can do to keep the FTVS running with TV in stand-by? (I even could solder some custom HDMI cable if needed.)
Solution: See post #3!
@spacetaxi
try to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/themes-apps/app-root-home-launcher-replacement-app-t3118135
and set looong Sleep timeout in FireStarter settings
maybe this help
Problem solved!
@Kramar111 Thanks for your suggestion, but that does not work.
During the last days I did further investigations and came to the following conclusion: It is a hardware feature of the FTV stick to go into sleep mode as soon as the tv is switched to stand-by. Of course that does make a lot of sense if one is using the stick for video streaming. But it does make less sense if one wants to use it for audio streaming...
I've been searching for a method to "hack" the HDMI connection, so the FTV stick does no longer recognize when the TV is switched to stand-by... and I've found a solution!
There is a looong thread on the Microsoft Technet forum regarding a somewhat similar problem with some pc video cards: https://social.technet.microsoft.co...onitor-off-detection-how?forum=w7itprogeneral
I've made two screenshots from that page, so we are able to keep the crucial bits of information, even if that thread may be no longer available someday in the future. This is the problem description from the Technet thread:

And this is the solution that's working for my setup (see post #1), too:

[Windows] Use remote control on PC

Hi Guys, how are you?
Sorry if the title doesn't meet the rules, I didn't came here since my Nexus 5 died, a long time ago!
Well, enough talk about me.
The title says it all, is there any way to use and/or remap the TV stick remote control with a PC (Windows 10) with bluetooth or, if not, any other protocol?
I've been lookin for everywhere and in the very little informations I got, nothing seem's to work. I can pair the remote on my PC through bluetooth, it register under the nickname of "AR", but the remote does nothing. AHK and AHKHID doesn't register the remote pressed buttons so I can't remap them. I'm new to AHK, so maybe I do something wrong.
If you have any information to give me, don't be shy!
I want to use it for Plex on Windows, my old laptop does a pretty nice job as media center. As of why I don't use the TV Stick, it's because it's the worst, most unusable, slower, buggier piece of garbage I ever bought, thankfully it was cheap, but I don't even understand how such a product can reach the market, in it's final days, it couldn't even start Prime Video. But the remote control might be useful!
Have a nice day you all!

No sorry. The remotes use a custom Wifi direct configuration.

Hi 0815hoffi! Thanks for your time! I was so desperate that I already tried, mind you, and AntiMicro simply tell me that it find no device ^^'
Thanks for the try ^^
I ordered a cheap'o remote... on Amazon, they got me all the time. It's just sad, because if the Amazon Remote had a way to remap keys, it would make less waste... I won't use even though it's working great

Hacking the Philips Screeneo U4

Hi, I am not sure, whether this is the right position to post for the Screeneo U4 because it is a projector and no TV. So if it is wrong here, sorry for that and the moderators might move it to the right place. But it is running Android TV.
I recently received a Philips Screeneo U4 ultra short throw projector. This projector uses Android TV and I did some research. I thought that somebody might be interested in the results. The screenshots show german Text but the steps should be self explanatory, so I did not change the language of the machine.
The first impression is that they use their own launcher on that machine which hides “normal” Android. But not totally .

If you go to Settings and there to serial number, press OK on the remote five times. Then you find a hidden menu. Once there go to ABDDemo and you will find the standard Android developer options. On my machine they were already activated. Go to USB-Debugging, activate it and you have standard USB-Debugging access with all adb-commands working. I also activated file transfer as standard usb-setting. The projector then shows as maxtv on your computer with the standard directories in the internal storage.
If you transfer an apk-file to InstallableApps it can be installed on the machine with the app-installer in the hidden directory. You could also use adb shell commands for installing.
In that menu you also find an entry called settings which leads to another standard android settings menu. Showing for example Wifi-Settings although there is no Wifi on board.
So far the first research steps. I would be interested whether there are other owners of that projector who know more and would also be interested in suggestions to do deeper research. And might be suggestions for useful software to try.

Hello and thank you for the information, I have connected a key with two apk, IPTV and Kodi in usb but I do not see them, you are talking about ADB shell but how to connect it since there is no integrated wifi or RJ45 network cable, can you help me please?
fabio
Hello,
you have to transfer the files to the Installable Apps directory (see above).
I use the connection to the projector which I have, when connecting an usb-cable to the computer.
Kodi would probably make sense for media on a connected harddisk or stick if Kodi recognizes those. I did not try this. But the installed vlc media player does quiet a good job in playing videos and music.
I do not see the point with IPTV without any Network connection. I did not manage to activate Wifi or ehternet via usb - did you?
