Note 10+ n975u can only connect to 4G. Sees 3G and 1x but wont connect. - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Long story short. I bought this phone thru Spectrum Mobile. I am now with Verizon. When 4G data connection drops out the 3G icon or 1x icon pops up but there is never a connection to the data side of the network (3G and 1X icons are grey and never turn white). When this happens even with 2 or 3 bars of service no texts or phone calls can be placed. I even tried to force a connection by switching network to CDMA only with one of the network switching apps in the market. Phone has been to samsung for diagnognostics and they said nothing was wrong. Im on my 3rd sim and second carrier with this phone. Ive factory reset 2x and also flashed the verizon firmware with odin as this is an unlocked phone. Can someone with this phone on verizon download this app, switch network to CDMA only (PRL) and see if they get a usable 3G connection (can make phone calls , texts, and surf slowly on internet?

can you download samsung band selection and try that?

T-Mobile Connect to Internet on the GSM Network

I have been trying to get the data connection to work, when I am in a 2G coverage area, however I didn't have any luck.
3G works ok, but as soon as it goes on the GSM as apposed to WCDMA setting, none of the online options are available.
Do I have to set another access point on the phone to get data when I only have GSM (2G) coverage?
Hmmm, for some strange reason, yesterday while at work, I couldn't connect to T-mobile's 2G data network (GPRS)... Yesterday evening it shutdown by itself (empty battery) and after I restarted it, I have 2G data connection... very slow but it is there...
I wonder what may have been the problem. Any thoughts?

Text/call problems on 3g only

Hi,
Does anyone have any ideas on a specific problem I have with the One X (on t-mobile - sim only contract in UK)
Had the phone since it first came out and the last 6 weeks I've been unable to send or receive texts while the phone is in 3g (wcdma mode or wcdma/gsm auto). The only way I can receive/send texts and calls is in gsm mode. I've been on the phone with T-Mobile for over an hour making sure my service centre number and network operator is correct and I have no signal issues (mostly full signal).
I've tried turning the wi-fi off to see if that's an issue but it makes no difference. What's weird is that in 3g (wcdma) mode I have no problems with data, so I can use the internet/facebook/twitter apps and upload/download pics and files just fine.
The engineer at T-Mobile (android dept) told me there's a 3g and 2g antenna in the phone and the 3g antenna may be faulty. Sounds plausible but wouldn't that mean no data connection on 3g too? I've also been told to check my micro sim in another phone, which I'll do when a friend comes round (I don't have any other phone that uses micro sims).
I just thought I'd check in here to see if this is a known issue. I've googled and nothing's turned up with this particular problem. Normally it isn't an issue as I use wi-fi for data so just keep the phone in gsm mode. However, when I'm out I swap to 3g sometimes and forget to swap back. I had two days worth of missed calls and texts when I forgot to switch back this weekend
In summary:
gsm mode = texts, calls and internet all working fine (though slow data connection, obviously)
wcdma = no texts or calls but internet fast and working fine.
Any ideas, help or advice would be appreciated. I don't want T-Mobile saying it's a phone problem and HTC telling me it's the network's problem.
The same problem here using a WWE model (no carrier) in Vivo Mobile (Brasil).
No solution until know...

[Q] t mobile h+

Ive recently attained a captivate glide and unlocked it to use on t mobile. Like you would assume at first glance i had an edge connection. Although after messing around with it i realized by going to
Wireless and network > Mobile networks > Network operators >Default setup > Manual it gives me the option to choose to connect to att/ tmobile and when i chose tmobile and it registers on the network i get H+ speeds for a few minutes then it just defaults back to edge
is there a way i can keep my phone on H+ at all times because its capable
bump!

I have this problem too, but only into my house. Outdoor that´s right. I´ve tested with all modems, and I think the best for me is i927UCLH2.
Which rom, kernel and baseband do you use??
I´ve done some tests with my glide and my mother´s galaxy chat, in different places. In the street I have H+ and she H, but when we are into any house, under any roof, she still has H, and I only have E.
Does it happen to you?

Doesn't this just sound like a basic signal issue? When the signal gets worse (indoor vs. outdoor) it will drop down to a lower signal.
Also, are you sure Tmo has fully rolled out the 1900mhz band in your area? They may not have complete coverage yet.

i'm sure that it is a phone or a software phone problem, cause i've put my sim card in my last phone (xperia pro) and it has H signal too
i've tested all rogers and att modems, and still have the problem..
Hi, I have a similar prob, I'm in the uk and need it to stay on H+, as it'll drop off to 2g in the house, I've always used miui roms in the past and they have the option to force 3g etc. The only way round this I could find is to use 'pimp my rom' which allows you to select which network you want manually, such as gsm, edge, wcdma etc. Download it, go to tools, device hidden menu, turn off radio, wait, turn radio back on, then quickly select from the drop down box what signal you want, I select wcdma only. If the radio does not come back on, put on flight mode then off again, and will work.. bit annoying but works..
That happen to me too, but not for t mobile, for a operator that use 1900mhz in my country.

LG G3 D855 Odd behaviour when roaming

I have a G3 D855 International (or is it Taiwanese?) version - running the latest stock LG build, which identifies itself as LRX21R.A1440231662, version V20u-TWN-XX, Kernel 3.4.0, Android 5.0.
I have a Three (UK) SIM, and have recently been in California, where I observed some odd behaviour. I'd be glad if anyone is able to comment or explain any of this!
1) I never saw any 4G (LTE) connections. From other posts in this forum it does appear that this model of G3 may be incompatible with T-Mobile US and AT&T network frequencies, and if so that's understandable.
2) It seemed to have a very strong preference to connect to T-MO, but on that network it would frequently lose data connectivity, despite the phone showing a strong signal. My wife's Galaxy S3, also on Three, would stay connected all the time. If I tried manually searching for networks and selecting either T-MO or AT&T, usually that would restore connectivity. However...
3) Entering manual network selection from this state (connected to T-MO but not getting any data), the phone would display a warning along the lines of "Do you want to search for networks while there is an active data connection?" -- yet there was no data connection icon in the status bar, and no throughput. This feels like some sort of bug - the phone thought it had a data connection but really didn't?
3) Even though I would manually select the AT&T network, and get some throughput, the phone would fairly soon spontaneously reconnect to T-MO, and shortly afterwards again lose data connectivity. This became tedious and frustrating. Other phones I've had have always respected a manual network selection and stuck to the selected network, even when if another available network had a stronger signal. Not so this G3. Is this known, normal behaviour?
The only other thing that may be relevant is that for most of the time I had the phone set to connect only to WCDMA networks, because the data capability of GSM is next to useless, and since I'd not seen any LTE, and WCDMA + LTE only is not an option, WCDMA was really all I was interested in.

LG D855 takes time to connect to 4G

I have the following issue with my D855:
When I reboot or power on the phone it display the search for network icon for few seconds and then it connects to H+. After an hour or so it connects to 4G. All the phones I used connect directly to 4G. I have 4G coverage (when it connects I have full bars), compatible 4G sim (works great in other phones) and carrier settings(set up and verified by Vodafone representatives). Also while on 4G when I connect to WiFi it searches again for network and when I turn off WiFi searches again for network and happens the same(H+ and after an hour I have 4G)
Any ideas why this happens?
