Lagging and freezing rn8 ginko - Redmi Note 8 Questions & Answers

Hi i have rn8 3gb ver it's keep lagging too much and while I'm playing pubg it keep freezing and making a freez sound i tried to do hard reset and reinstall the apps but still the same I'm on latest update 11.0.8 i didn't have these problem in my old redmi 7 what should I do is this a firmware fault or it's a hardware one?? Please help:crying:

Man, I don't know what is happening with my device too, it's like, sometimes the transitions or animations feel laggy, like < 30fps, I do not know what the problem is and I do not know if there is a solution, I removed the stock ROM and installed a custom one and I still have the same problem, I do not know if it is hardware or what happens.

Is it the same with another roms ?? I didn't tried custom roms cause I'm waiting to open bootloader with the stupid time that they are putting but if it still the same that means it's a trash hardware because i used realme 3 with hellio p60 and samsung a20 and they were so much better and they shoud have a weaker processors

Had this on EU ROM, now on latest beta and it's lag free for me.

The only solution i got was installing PE 9, all roms are laggy for me, don't know why, but now on pe 9 i'm lag free, i'm using an app for gestures, and no more.
Edit: Gonna try some 10 GSIs, but don't know how to install them

I will try it it's so strange to be so laggy like this especially with a good chip like sd 665 i guess they need to optimize the official rom or it well be the biggest fall for xiaomi

nope sir. its only happen since yesterday , i saw a lots of user in different forum and facebook group facing the same issue .
AFAIK, many android oreo users are facing this problem. There is a magisk module which supposedly fixes it. If you have root+magisk installed you could try it.

I've touch issues since the beginning..I don't usually play games, I noticed it with pattern unlock and swiping on the keyboard. It's frustrating and I was curious why no one talked about it yet..I thought it's only me.

Oh sorry, my bad.
Was facing same touch issues when playing Pubg.
Also it began only last week.
But upgrading to miui 8.6.28 global beta solved my problem.
Try it.
i also facing this issue.... anyone have solution of this problem...?
i solved mine with replacing premium (more expensive) tempered glass. and flashing custom rom(resurrection remix) and seems like the problems are gone ,for now.
UPDATE : multitouch issue still persist sometimes. maybe its hardware issue?
Also facing the touch issue, and i have no screen protector installed. The touch issue started randomly
I am also facing this issue. Mostly noticable in PUBG and on lockscreen pattern.

After 2 weeks of usage my device is also starting to have touch problems. My rom version is 9.5.12.0 (cn rom).
I also had touch issues but only when typing text.

[Discussion] Which ROM are you guys using and why are you using it?

Hey guys,
Just wanted to know which rom you are using and the reason behind it.
I am using xiaomi.eu 10.2 stable, I am basically using it because of stability. I previously used pixel experience for a while, it was a bit of a hassle to boot it up.Since the dev was inactive and the rom had some bugs I had to use miui which I am not a big fan of.
The goal of this discussion is to find out if anyone is using stock android like roms without any issues.
Thanks

I'm using pixel experience, doesn't have any bugs and easy enough to install.
Only downside is the security patch is not up to date

Can you describe how you installed it?
Is the proximity sensor working for you?

That's about where I was, other than the notification nightmare which made it close to unusable for me. I just couldn't see the point, my conclusion being it's designed for people who like themes, which aren't my cup of tea.
Yeah notifications are a disaster. I thought MIUI was cool and I have all the pixel XL devices too, so I have choices.
Sent from my Mi MIX 3 using Tapatalk
There are a couple apps for which I get notifications but no sound, most notably Google Keep and Settle Up. Other than that, I don't have major issue with notifications since 10.2 update.
Stock Chinese ROM with Nova Launcher Prime for me. I like the lack of Google trash, like Chrome, not being needed to use and access the Play Store. Literally the most bloat-free experience after uninstalling the Chinese bloat that isn't needed.
Dev eu rom. Since the first release. Happy with it. No problem at all.
Cn device with global Rom, I like MIUI battery management last all day with heavy use.
Xiaomi.eu weekly with Nova prime on top.
I really like it and notifications work fine it is just a little bit annoying that you have to set app specific settings for them to work properly though.
Guys what's the notification issue you're talking about?
Im on global miui too but i dont know exactly what it is?

Which messaging app are you using? For me, I could never get notifications to work properly with Google Messages, and with the native Messages app, group messaging didn't work, nor does it have a desktop interface. This may have improved with the more recent releases, but Pixel Experience was so good I have no need to bother trying MIUI again (the other big thing it was missing is the smart unlock functionality).
The only thing I'll regret in stock android is the full screen gesture. I love it in miui

what are these bugs? just wondering..
I had annoying bugs with Android 10. Chrome kept flickering, full screen gestures not working with 3rd party launchers, slow fp reader, the mobile data kept disconnecting (had to turn on airplane mode on and off to have internet). Now I'm back on miui 11, everything is working fine.

1 - big launcher icons
2 - if you turned apps suggestions off in the launcher, they'll be back after restarting
3 - can't dismiss/swipe away settings suggestions
4 - fingerprint only works if you have aod or wake for notifications turned on
5 - camera
These are the ones i've noticed...
Wow. The launcher icon bug still exists?
What exactly have they fixed in these last 2 rollouts?

Yeah it's really disappointing. While it's not as horrendous as the first version, it should've been a smooth experience by now.
Strangely update is stable for me i haven't faced any issues with this device since I bought it
For the size of icons, you may try changing developer option\ smallest width from stocked 360 to 390 or 395. This can shrink them somewhat.

This device has never had EIS.
I got this phone for my mother last year. This update has been so abysmal (I regret updating it after not updating it for the last two times), at times the phone even crashes while calling. Hangs at random times. Didn't really expect it from a Android One phone

There are a fair few devs working on the device. There are device trees so any custom ROM can be built and MIUI customised ROMs are also being released. On top of this there are two superb devs currently working on dynamic a/b partitions to make TWRP stable. This is difficult as there is a lot of guesswork involved as the phone was released with Android 11 and so the partition setup is quite unknown

Battery life is great, I can use the phone actively without noticing the battery depleting. System resources minimal if as long you don't use bloated apps. I have magisk installed with things like energized protection, viper4android and more working fine. Even apps like bluemail work on this ROM while on others I had no luck.

of course full device is buggy. uninstalling apps take 30 seconds and in game it will give a full screen notification of low battery. now if you're gaming this notification will make you loss a match. shtty miui. i just shattered this f3 and completely dead now.
Go back to 12.5.1, they don't limit the speed of SoC here (Still 3.1 Ghz instead of 2.7 Ghz)
i shattered the device on the floor and completely dead now. so no xiaomi again. full screen low battery notification forced me to go afk out of the game.
