I have it at 410. Is it wrong?

The default value is 411, you could try some higher values, never to exceed 589, above this value, I have encountered some issues

Did you using fluid navigation gesture?

problem solved. there was an option at navigation gestures app.

Chrome DPI Spaz

I love changing my dpi, and but have noticed that with my level set at 240 Chrome Beta will not allow me to access the address bar.
Is there a Per App Density App or feature I could exploit to solve this problem?

Then the only option is to change the DPI. Or try changing it between phone / tablet mode.

Screen Density

Has anyone changed theirs yet? If so, what to? It's set at 640 and I think everything is too large, almost comically so.

u can change density from build.prop. Find the line ro_lcd_density=640. change the value according to your convenience. well, i hav tried this in many AOSP roms.

I was hoping a few people had tried and could recommend a density.
From my experience LG's system doesn't like global density changing (especially with kitkat). The best solution is to use Xposed framework and App Settings module (v1.9<) to change selected apps.

I used the app "textdroider_dpi" to change my G2's dpi from 480 to 400.
I was comfortable with this value and it's -17% change. Thus, I changed my G3's dpi from 640 to 530. Works great for me.
Now the amazing thing about G3 is that the dialer and cam works with this dpi change too. No need to use Xposed app settings to specify stock dpi on these apps :good:

530 is really nice, feels like what it's supposed to be. Fonts seem a little off though.

The font size can be changed in the settings to preference. Also, if you're using a 3rd-party launcher like Nova, you can change the grid and icon size to compensate

True, but I think there's probably a sweet spot for me around 590 as 530 makes the phone feel like a phablet.

Any way to make screen scaling smaller?

I saw the phone in a store today and wanted to buy it. But got annoyed that the smallest screen scaling option is still bigger than my p20 pro and feels like a waste of screen real estate.
Does anyone know of a way to make things on screen look smaller without rooting?
connect to adb and use wm size option. whatever size you set make sure aspect ratio is same as original device. it works better than wm density.
It’s even simpler than that. There are adjustments in display as well the option in developer options to adjust dpi.

You can change the minimum width setting to a higher number in developer options but it will mess up the SystemUI a little. Certain apps will become too large. It also resets every time you restart the phone. Huawei needs to fix this. It's one of the worst things about EMUI.
try using wm size. it works perfectly.
apart from some apps, like camera. use tasker to reset back when using camera
Thank you so much Guys! Is there any difference at all between using minimum with in developer options, and using vm size in adb? Cheers

It really doesn't work any better than using the Minimum Width setting in developer options and like you said it even screws up the camera app.
I'm using 600 DPI and I have no problems. I wouldn't recommend going higher than 640 as you might get glitches.
Does anyone have a link on how to use that wm size setting?

What about the notification panel, is it the same size as the home screen? Thanks,

Issue with dialer on higher custom dpi

Hi Guys, so I've increased the dpi to custom under developer settings to 581. Everything seems to work great except for touch position on the dialer and it's pretty irritating. Anyone knows a solution to this or to selectively reduce the dpi on tbe dialer app? I'm not rooted. Look at the screenshot of the issue. Thanks!
I use 589, and no issues, but with 600, the notifications panel becomes very narrow, but no issues with anything else
i use 480 w lowered font size and "fineprint" font.... everything works perfect

Tried 589 and same issue. Can you confirm you don't have the issue on your dialer? Weird why this would be.
I just double checked, at 589, the dialer is normal, but, I have the screen resolution at wqhd+, fhd gives me some troubles in the zone of the nav bar, and I say zone because I hide the nav bar, gestures work ok, but, buttons appearing there become unresponsive, the same for the bottom row of the keyboard

For some reason I still have the issue in the OP screenshot. I've resorted to 520 now with QHD+, things are slightly better on the dialer but still largely the same.

A little help: Default Smallest width

A little help: what is the default value for small width in developer mode ?

It depends on your device. One way to go back to default is to search settings for "zoom" and make display zoom normal or default, that will automatically reset the value in developer mode.
Or, try a value like 384, just a guess
