Stock Camera and Custom ROM - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

So recently I have flashed my LG G7 with Evolution X and Magisk Root and the experience is great however I do miss the G7 stock camera. After extensively browsing XDA I haven't found any way to get the Camera on a Custom ROM. I have tried various GCAM ports but the experience simply isn't the same. So my question is, Does anyone know how I can get the Stock Camera App and get to work?
Cheers in Advance!

You cannot get stock lg camera on custom roms,
custom roms are missing the framework present in stock.

A good idea may be create a custom stock ROM, like a zip for flash in twrp for debloat and add features, like HTC Sense custom roms in old days.

[Q] New adventurer in Custom ROMs

Hello All!
I just want to clear some of my basic doubts before I flash ROMs in my GN2. So, here goes:
Is it right that custom ROMs donot have some of the Samsung proprietary features such as Air View, Smart Rotation, Smart Stay, etc.? and
Are kernels also flashed in the same way as the ROMs are i.e., .zip flash via Recovery?
Thanks!

Hi,
1.) It is possible.
2.) Yes
1) yes, cyanogenmod rom paranoid rom will Disable Samsung applications, but there are still so many roms, like Android revolution HD, Crash rom ( I'm currently using now) , just google " the best custom rom for galaxy note 2" , those roms keep all of Samsung features + many system tweaks. Just try them.
2) exactly yes
Here, I'd like to advice to back your stock rom before flashing a custom rom. This is very important to recover your phone in case something went wrong
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
ALL TW ROMS have these options s whereas Aosp don't
Yes the same way to flash the kernel

Your question has been answered already but I would like to explain a bit more for others who can be confused with all this.
There are 4 kinds of custom ROM available.
TW (stock Samsung)
AOSP( Pure Google Android) Won't have any of the Samsung features
AOKP( Based on AOSP but with some more features) Won't have any of the Samsung features but they got the S-pen working.
MIUI (Chinese version of Android with very different style than others) ?????? not sure
ROMs and Kernels comes in 2 formats. ZIP and TAR.
If it's a ZIP file, you flash it in recovery using CWM, TWRP or PHIL.
If it's a TAR file, you need to put your phone in Download Mode and flash it with ODIN.
Custom ROM' almost always come in ZIP(never seen one using TAR but it's not impossible)
Official Samsung ROM almost always come in TAR files
Hope it helps.

You can't simply flash stock anything on a non stock ROM. Some ROMs are able to do it if and only they contain the correct files cooked into them that allow stock features to work. Take for example the MIUI rom that just came out for the Galaxy Note 2 on ATT. It has Spen features, stock camera and even some TW designs on pop up Windows. HOWEVER, this was only possible because miui (or at least that build of miui) has a TW base on it. Therefore including certain files that allow the use of stock features. So in conclusion you cannot flash stock camera on any custom AOSP, AOKP, CM rom unless the dev or community has included the files necessary for the feature to work on said rom

[Q] urgent help needed for reverting the custom recovery to orignal samsung recovery

Hello Sir,
i have installed liquidsmooth lollipop 5.0 on Samsung sgh i747 but there are some problems in camera does not work so i want to change it but i don't want the custom rom.. I want the original one but unable to find it every link goes to some custom rom & i dont want them...i want the original one.........can i change the cynogenmod recovery to stock recovery.........
Reverting to stock recovery will not fix the camera problem.
What bootloader is on your phone? Don't flash anything until you confirm this because flashing the wrong ROM could brick your phone.

You'll have to be a bit more precise, what device do you have exactly? What bootloaders? And what was your exact flashing process?
Like Audit mentioned, it's not a recovery problem. Most likely flashed something that wasn't for your device or your device wasn't updated for (like bootloaders) but could also just be a problem with the ROM or a dirty flash.

Are you wanting a stock rom and stock recovery? Or, just the stock (original) recovery?
What you do depends on your answer to Audit13's question about your current bootloader and modem.
Lollipop ROMs as a group have had camera and video issues. Some third party camera apps have been working for two months. Following some CyanogenMod threads has had the stock camera intermittently working and then not working on subsequent updates for the past several weeks. Yesterday I read that the source of the problem was found in AOSP code. Supposedly camera issues will be fixed with the next update.

Any official custom roms?

Does realme 6 pro have any official custom roms other than evo x and pex?
I have tried them all but none are as good as the stock rom that has been debloated or had all the bloatware frozen with titanium backup or SDmaid. Once that is done the stock rom works great, quick and smooth and everything still works and can still use the aux camera lenses.

Question Any Android 13 Debloated Stock ROM?

Is there a new rom development for debloated Stock ROM(Android 13)?
I'm looking for a stock custom rom that is debloated but Samsung Store is still intact + a working camera.
Hi,
if still interested you can doit by yourself...
You have to be on last A13 stock rom and then you can use this great tool : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...mate-app-manager-debloat-tool-tweaks.4147837/
In this way, you can easily debloat the firmware by selecting which app / process you want to unsitall or simply disable.
Besides, all of them, can be react later if you want...
I have tried it and it was really helpful
