Here in Hong Kong we RN8P Global users are Xiaomi's stepchild. Everyone else has Android 10; not us. Now no EU MIUI beta because it will brick. I can almost throw a rock into China from home but XIAOMI can't upgrade my almost 1 year old phone. Pretty shabby!

Will I be able to secure one with a global ROM is my question. Very interested in this device, otherwise the vanilla Mi 5 will just have to do, which I'm hoping doesn't come down to that, as it lacks the 900MHz band primarily used for LTE in my country.
Hopefully there will be as I already got 128 GB one in Malaysia with global ROM but the shop who sell it is not an official dealer in Malaysia. They said they imported and warranted by themselves for 1 year.

Q: release date of the global MIUI ROM for the Mi 5s or Mi 5s Plus?
A: Never.
This device is a China only device. It will not update the existing Mi5 on the "global" market, that means wherever Xiaomi sells phones outside of China.

Before we start to have a Global ROM is needs:
Global ROM is released only if the device is officially sold outside of China in countries like India, Malaysia, Singapore etc... without any hardware changes.

You can always hope that the device gets launched in Malaysia or Singapore, yet this is very unlikely if Xiaomi doesn't plan to launch it in India first. People in these country already have the Mi5, a more expensive version of the Mi5 may not be sell good.

Also, Mi 5s has more aggressive pricing that Mi 5. I cannot get the 128GB Mi 5 with the same money I spend on my Mi 5s.

my experience from p20 pro- i have both chinese and global and the difference for USA is no location sharing among family/friends in google maps, it is a google operational issue, everything else the same. The chinese one has esim, more huawei apps, baidu, etc.

NO! never get chinese versioon unless u dont live in china !
had Honor note 10 and had to sell it ! google isn't supported 100% u defo need global if u are in usa !

There is Xiaomi Note 8T (with NFC) witch Xiaomi says that is meant to be for Europe but there is also Note 8 without T but with the box with European countries ( the Asian version has an Blue box, the one that im talking about looks almost the same with Note8T and has all the European countries where it should work ) i dont like 8T because, yes, there are some difference, first i dont need NFC but secound, 8T is larger, heavier and uglier, it has a bigger chin so i dont really like it, also on Mi.eu Rom there is ginkgo supported, i dont know who is ginkgo and who is Willow! Can you help me guys? I can provide photos with the box if its helps you, thanks!

ginkgo is rn8 as long as its global and says it in the box you are ok. willow is rn8t i think only difference is NFC.

Exactly... RN 8 has notifiaction LED, RN 8T not... and this and NFC are differences
I know guys what are the differences but i asked if 8T and 8 with the white box are meant to be used in EU bcs Xiaomi says only about 8T that is for europe!
RN 8 is available as Global version with MI version of ROM... so you can use it worldwide where is available... MI and EU versions od ROM can be used everywhere outside Asia
RN 8 is available with MI Global ROM
RN 8T is available with MI and EU Global ROM
For example in Croatia are available both RN 8 and 8T, but I bought 8T because of NFC
I saw that One UI 4 Beta went live for Note10 series in South Korea (exynos Note10 there if I remember) and I am interested if it will be possible to flash China or US one ui 4 beta rom to my N9750? (when one ui 4 beta goes live for China and US soon probably) N9750 always gets late updates and I want to know if I will be able to flash a China or US rom on it (all of these are snapdragon)

From what i understand the answer is no. It would need to be korean TGY or BRI rom.
