A50 5GHz wifi not Recognized - Samsung Galaxy A50 Guides, News, & Discussion

My A505F/DS cant connect to my mi router 3 with 5ghz band. I did some research. It can connect to other 5ghz network with high channel like 146 or plus.
But my router can do only 140 or less.
On internet i found that US version of this mobile supposedly work with low channel like 40, 44 , 53.
Is it true?
Is it possible to do anything?

Anyone?

In your router settings there is no region selection option? It should be in the wifi settings, when you change the region (locale) you will get compatible channels.

In newer firmwares 2.27.120 which's UI is only chinese, no . Ur screenshot is of older international firmware.
But the thing is, i have overcame the problem by >
1. Reverting back to old int firmware which allows to set the channel higher than 140 in 5ghz.
2. Manually set the channel to 165 . Save the settings
3. Export the config file to my phone .
4. Update to latest firmware.
5. Import the saved config file from my phone to the router.
And voila..
One thing i have noticed, the 5ghz signal strength is bad on the latest fiemware. Lol

Looks like a hardware comparability issue more than software.
Also WiFi has it's quirks, i had issues with older iPhones not able to connect to Hive AP's due to the use of CAPITAL ssid naming.

confirm problem with 5ghz. Have bug phone :|

Every country allow only few 5ghz channels (and correspondant frequencies) to be used by wifi radios so its not a bug but you need to much your phones region to your routers region (for most routers its selectable in wifi settings)

I have Connect Box UPC , and i set "auto-channel" , only on A50 make this, another phone work normal.

The WiFi country is actually read from the SIM card and not from the country of purchase, this phone is known for having broken WiFi in some countries and Samsung clueless Members bug report is a joke.

WiFi will not connect to internet w/Opera

I cannot get the WiFi to work on my ATT Tilt 2.
Any ideas? I can see connect to the wireless net point, but no connection to the internet.
Kind Regards,
Jim
I'm having the same issue on stock AT&T Rom..
I think I just found a workaround though.. Try starting Opera without wifi on, get it connected, then turn on wifi, go back into Opera and see if that works for you.. I'd love a better fix if there's any other workarounds.. For all my searching, I can't find it..
From my wifi

i've got the SAME problem as you guys. (Owning an TP2 device with WM 6.5)... the Wifi connects to my Router But I cant get any data from it when im using Opera OR Skyfire.. even though I got a full signal.
PS. I did however notice some weird stuff from the Ip-adress - witch were not correct given that my router is sharing NAT adress with "192.168.0.XX" and not 192.168.1.XX -Witch were given in my Htc device..
And according to my D-link Router, My htc device gets No IP whatso ever.. But it can be detected.
Any solution ??

See.. I thought I already tried that.. Just applied it again, and still no go.. Hmm..
Edit- nope.. still not working even after a reset.. I just hard reset this thing (stock AT&T) 2 days ago.. skyfire and pie are working fine with the wifi..
My above method is still the only way it's working..
Yup same problem here, I came across this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=621466&highlight=wifi+problems
and I guess if you update your Opera to a newer version it will correct this problem, but it seems to be alot of info there. Has anyone tried this?

Unable to tune a frequency like 89.0 on Jusada ICS CM7 stock radio

I am using Jusada Ice Cream Sunday ROM. I have problem with it's stock radio.
I can not tune to even numbers after decimal. Like 89.0 or 106.2. After decimal it only let me tune to odd numbers.
So how to fix it? Above mentioned are popular radio stations in our region.

I've tried experimenting and seems the only way yo achieve this is to go to FM settings and set regional band to one that supports ur range. The US band starts from 87.1 but increments in steps of 200 so youll.never hit 89.0(87.3,87.5,....88.9,89.1).Try Turkey So 89.0 falls in that range and increments in steps of 100.then you got to change you're timezone to the same timezone as.u selected. And uncheck the option to use network provided values. And set your time manually.Lemme know if the settings stay. I don't use the radio much but I hope I'm right for your sake
Try without changing the timezone first.

HTC International version, No Network Signal issue

Hi, I buyed HTC ONE X from aliexpress (from International version seller say). Phone work ok, but there is not network signal. I live in romania, I tried to unlock bootloader and install cyanogen mod v.12 but nothing changed. In country side there is 0 signal, in city there is 3 from 5 antenna but phone show "!" sign under antenna and it don't accept manual settings also I tried to install LTE SWITCHER to switch to GSM Only and it always goes back to wcdma preffered, so setting are not saved. I saw that there are other people on forums, I haven't find a solution, I already have TWRP installed and don;t want to try dozens of roms.
I have Meizu M2 Note buyed, new brand phone, and it works great here on country side withm 2g, 3g and even 4g.

Are you flash the boot.img from CM12?
Will it allow you to set the APN or is that in the manual settings you can't access? Correct APN settings for network provider might do it.

Wifi connection issue with iPhone using hotspot

Hi Guys!
This is my first post here, I wasn't aware of such form until I searched my issue with my android box.
I'm having connection issues connecting my android box to internet using my iPhone 12 hotspot.
It was working perfectly in the past until I updated my iPhone firmware.
Please have a look at my device version.
Do you have any ideas how I can fix this connection issue? Maybe needs MCU update?
Thanks!

i had something similar,
1) ensure maximise compatibility is turned on in personal hotspot on your iphone.
2) You want to remove the wifi connection for your phones wifi network name on the head unit.
3) manually add the network for your iphone on the head unit choosing wpa2-psk as the security.
it should then connect.
issue seems to be something to do with wpa3 on iphones vs the head units.

Hi,
Thank you. It doesn’t work.
I tried another iPhone and it worked.
My iPhone doesn’t have maximize Compatibility. It is iPhone 10 S.
It works on my iPhone 12 only not on the iPhone 11 S.
What should I do?
if you follow the steps without maximise compatibility, does it still not work?
Yes…. It doesn’t work.
I followed the same steps without maximize compatibility but still not working
Is there any updated version for my box ?
Mine is version year 2018
you might want to look at other roms hal9k may be compatible with that head unit.
I honestly don’t know, I don’t have much experience.
What do you mean other rooms?
Can you share with me the link to the other rooms please
i wouldn't know the link to the correct rom (software of your head unit) , if your not experiance in alternative roms i would suggest caution as you do run the risk of bricking(stopping it from working) your head unit. i'd ask around in the forums on what updates you can use.

Question Can't switch 5G off since updating to Android 13?

Has anyone else has this option greyed out?
I have the option to choose between 5G,4G,3G,or 2G (Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Preferred Network Type).
Yep they've greyed it out even though my phone was bought simfree (unlocked)

If you scroll down a bit further, don't you have a Preferred Network setting?
Nope just a 'Choose Network' which is also greyed out
I'm at a loss, hopefully, someone else will chime in.
FWIW, mine is a US Model, puchcased from T-Mobile, SIM unlocked (using a T-Mobile SIM Card).

You could always just use the dialer code *#*#4636#*#*
Turns out certain networks have the option disabled, I had the same problem when using an ID Mobile sim but my Vodafone sim was fine. To fix the problem make sure your rooted as I don't know of any other way other than the one I'm going to show.
Use a file manage that can show you root files (I use MiXplorer)
Go to /data/user_de/0/com.android.phone/files
Look for a XML file that starts with "carrier", If you have more than one then you've used more than 1 SIM in the phone, Make sure you've opened the XML file for your SIM.
Look for the line "hide_preferred_network_type_bool" and change it from true to false.
Reboot.
Profit.
Hope it works for you.

I'm with Smarty (owned by Three) which also uses the Three network like idmobile so it looks like Three maybe the cul·prit
I'm on I'd mobile which uses threes network.
Type this *#*#4636#*#* in dialer, it enters a test mode.
Click on phone info which takes you to another screen.
Scroll down and you'll see a slightly gray box that if you click on that and scroll through you'll find LTE only.
Click it and that's it, 4g network only.
Restart phone, job done.
Pretty sure my battery also seems to last longer
