Jokes aside, can anybody else think of a reason the 5 and 5T don't have pie yet?
I see that Redmi Note 6 pro is almost similar to this phone hence the AI portrait and AI scene enhance is mostly a software thing so I was wondering it would be real great if some developers port that thing for our device.

Dual camera is a gimmick
It's easy if the miui 10 on rn6 pro is treble supported.We would just need to backup the system partition and restore it on our device.

Oh yeah? Please try gcam in portrait mode and then try miui gcam port and see the difference between edge detection.
I hope a developer here would consider doing this. Since there's a lot of realme 8/8 pro camera features that I believe the realme 6 pro can handle considering the hardware it has.

Well.. Almost a year later.. still using it, and I second this!
mi 10t pro and mi 10 pro has the same camera. is there any modifications we can make to the stock camera app or maybe install the camera from the mi 10 pro?

the colors and dynamic range is better, but you lose the ability to shoot 108mpx
Was wondering if the 12 MP IMX486 camera sensor on the Redmi Note 5 pro could be replaced with the 12 MP Samsung S5K2L7 camera sensor from a Redmi Note 6 pro. Since they have the same SoCs too.

No you can't replace it because the camera libraries aren't the same and it simply won't work.

It's difficult to modify the camera libraries itself moreover to port libraries from different phone. And it's not only libraries - it's also firmware to make sensor from another phone to work on RN5, also motherboard specs etc.
