Instructions :
SECURITY ADVICE
Don't flash ROMs or Magisk modules which set SELinux to permissive or you welcome malware on your device!
Install Latest Firmware
Grab the Sony Stock firmware using e.g. XPeriFrim. You should always flash the firmware matching the LOS build.
Grab newflasher and put it in the same folder as the firmware files.
Read the newflasher original post on XDA for general instructions!
Remove the following from the folder so they won't get flashed:
all *.ta files (keep the one in the boot/ directory)
Turn off your phone
Hold the volume down button and attach it via USB to your system till you see LED turning green
Run newflasher from within this directory to flash the remaining files
Skip the second optional step (dumping of trim area), it's useless if your bootloader is unlocked already and takes a long time.
Hit Yes for all the next questions asked in Newflasher(Only dumpin of trim area should be selected no and rest all questions should be selected as yes.
Once Newflasher flashes the Stock rom, boot into it and make sure volte is available.(VOLTE WILL NOT WORK ON BLISS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE IT IN STOCK ROM.
Incase you are not able to see volte icon in stock either your carrier does not support it or there is an issue with the stock rom(Try flashing it again).
Once you confirm Volte is available in stock, Flash the TWRP recovery and follow below instructions carefully.
Boot into recovery >> Format Data >> Power off the Phone.
Again boot into recovery >> Format Data >> Power off the Phone.
This time boot into recovery >> Wipe Internal Storage.
Flash ROM, Gapps, Magisk.
In the setup wizard select SIM 1 as the default sim for calls data and message.
Once Boot is complete, wait patiently for few mins.
Go to Settings >> Blissify >> Advanced System Icons >> Set icon for Volte.
Voilllaa you should have volte and dual sim both enabled.
Google Apps
You can download and install the Google Apps from opengapps.org. You need ARM64 and 10.x. I suggest to *always* use the pico or nano package. If you need additional apps you find them in the Play Store.
MicroG
This ROM does support Signature Spoofing. However we are watching MicroG and check if they provide newer builds e.g. for Android Pie.

its really nice deep customization , stable and last charge 11hrs ago 4hrs 26mins screen usage im left with 15% now .. should be better as your phone get used to the rom etc ..

So there are a few minor things I noticed after flashing and setting up my phone:
1) During google setup, the buttons at the bottom right like "Next"/"I agree" etc are grayed out like they cant be pressed when they are actually able to be pressed.
2) Hiding the home pill with full gesture mode (disabled nav bar) does not hide the pill (Edit: it works after re-selecting Gesture mode.)
3) Device doesn't recognize voice during "Ok Google" setup.
4) Bliss Updater shows "Failed to connect to server! Try again later!"
Nothing major for me though. Will keep testing and report if there are further issues.
Thanks for the ROM!

Very nice ROM, I'm impressed.
Hope the Stock Cam is added soon. That would be awesome!

so after you select hide pill, how did u save that option to apply that change cause anytime i choose to hide pill and go back its unselected again

So what I did was with the hide enabled, i clicked to use full screen gestures again, not the hide button. Maybe you can try switching to 2/3 button and back to gestures again
Edit: I noticed that it was because there is actually an "OK" button at the bottom right under the slider for hiding pill that is not visible. Try pressing around under the slider for hide pill after you made your changes.

Wait for add stock camera ?

What is AOSP?
AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps. Anyway to get a working system we ported some changes from Cyanogenmod/LineageOS and CodeAurora repos.
Please do not ask for features to be added because we're not going to add more to keep this ROM small, fast and pure.

Installation
Important note's before installation:
This rom is based on N firmware blobs. Coming from M, flashing a N based firmware is * REQUIRED *, otherwise installation will fail or anyway will not work correctly! Download and install the latest custom package you can find HERE, that contain only the firmware (flash in TWRP recovery, at your own risk). This firmware update is needed once, not on every rom update!.
In case of use of F2FS file system, please upgrade to latest TWRP based on Android N code (TWRP v3.1.1-x). This will avoid problems to apply SuperSU root during the flash.
First time or clean install:
Download the ROM from the link above
Download GApps package for Nougat 7.1.x
[OPTIONAL] Download ThemeReady GApps package for N (arm64)
Put the zip files on your SDCard
Reboot in Recovery
Wipe Data / Factory Reset
Optional: convert to F2FS
Select "Install zip from SDCard"
Choose AOSP ROM zip file
Choose GApps zip file
Choose TBO GApps zip file (needed for complete theming of some Gapps with OMS overlays)
Flash
Reboot system
Update over an existing previous AOSP N build:
Via OTA Updates:
Open OTA Updates app (for details, check on post#3)
Download the update
Press "Install"
Your device will automatically reboot and install the update.
Manual update with TWRP:
Download updated build from the link above
Put the zip files on your SDCard
Reboot in TWRP Recovery
Select "Install zip from SDCard"
Choose AOSP ROM zip file
Flash
Reboot system
NOTE: the "dirty" flash to update an existing version DO NOT NEED any new re-flash of Gapps and TBO... integrated BackupTool during rom install will backup your gapps (already installed) and restore them after rom update!
NOTE: This version is dex-preoptimized, so do not wipe cache and Dalvik after rom flash!
General notes
Rom is pre-rooted and has Magisk v13.0 beta integrated
Theming: rom has from this build the new SUBSTRATUM THEME ENGINE. Use the integrated Substratum app to apply OMS overlays (OverlaysManagerService). Latest Substratum is rootless!

Using F2FS
What it is? Wikipedia
To use it you should first convert your EXT4 partitions through recovery, before installing this ROM.
Download and install latest TWRP version: https://twrp.me/devices/xiaomimi5.html
Wipe->advanced wipe
Select data->change or repair file system->f2fs (Warning: internal storage is formatted, make a backup of your personal data before doing this!)
Select cache->change or repair file system->f2fs
No need to convert /system as it is basically read-only, therefore better to keep it as ext4.
Now you can install this ROM following installation steps in post above
OTAUpdates description.
OTAUpdates!!
From Stable 1 release, we re-introduced the OTAUpdates function (FULL OTA, not incremental). The app has self-check function to check on romhut the availability of a new version. Here some screens to show how it works (Manual check):
After download is completed, you can reboot directly to recovery to update the current installation... or in case of manual install, you will find the zip of the rom on internal sdcard under OTAUpdates folder.
Thats Pretty Cool..

You are welcome... we are using it a couple of weeks now!! So we know how it is... you will see...
Ou ou ou. New stuff. Thank you!
Good job, guys. I remember smeroni's work back in the days when I was proud owner of Samsung Galaxy S Plus (I9001) and my daily driver back in the day was exactly ROM from DevConnection. Keep going!
Works substratum or cm theme engine ?

Xiaomi Mi5 Pro on AOSP 7.1.0 (JDC)
Thank you for development, much appreciated!
I need to report one thing, if my cache, system and data were f2fs filesystem the rom would not install correctly. The boot image patcher failed with error "extracting ramdisk -- failure, aborting". After that, the Gapps zip would not flash, saying I had wrong version of androind (6.0.1).
After formatting my filesystem back to ext4 it worked.
edit: Also, a feature request. On stock Mi5 the back and recents buttons are reversed. So, with a right hand user the back button is closer to your thumb and it's the one you use most often. Can this be swapped in settings? Additionally, can the home button be made touch-sensitive? So you would not need to actually push it to go home.

I use an app to switch buttons and for full customization of them.
Home button is an hw button... how can we convert it to a touch? Miracles with sw sometime are not possible!

@smeroni68 The home button can act as a capacitive button on MIUI. I assume this is what the poster was referring to.

I suppose that is not the hw home button itself... but the fingerprint sensor under it. Anyway, as reported in OP, in general we are not here to add too much features. We will think about, but no promises.

Hello and thank you for your work. Can you please tell, will you become Z00T maintainer for Lineage OS, or are these builds completely unofficial (I mean without further possibility to go official 15.1 build) and we better stick to AEX 5.X?
Also can you tell, are there any differences between your build and Luke's last one, apart from Fire Kernel?

I doubt it will become official ever first of all. All HAL1 devices are not yet official due to camera issues and will probably won't. Apart from FireKernel difference is that I compiled it using SDCLANG, did some updates for GPS, and other files, Disabled transparent QS and fixed video recording partially by importing commits from xperia devices. Nothing more.

Hi @TheImpulson I read on one of the other threads that the video recording bug was completely fixed. AEX if I'm not wrong. I hope I'm not mistaken. If it is fixed, is there a chance of it becoming official?

Bliss? Havoc OS? PE? I mean all of them are great. Thanks to Shujath, you guys have a lot of options to use on XZP.

I have been testing the rom for a few days and it is going quite well, only I have the doubt if there is any way to improve the audio? since at least the speaker is too low. And is there also a way to change the size of the icons at startup? since I did not find how to do it. Thank you

Glad to see a new rom comes to our device!
Downloading
edit:
VoLTE works fine, and the speed of the whole system is super fast. Will consider using this rom on my XZ1C as a daily device.
However the support of Chinese is missing, which is, the system can not display in Chinese. I will appreciate it if you can fix it in the future.
Great work!
edit 2:
BUG:
1.After flashing opengapps-pico, while logging in the google account, the whole interface is blank. I had to input my account information and select the options blindly according to my memory..
There seems to be a problem with the WebView, fixed after installing WebView Canary.

Yep seems like there is an issue with Webview, it can be fixed by installing this https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=8889791610682898594 or use canary
edit
after few retry, successfully booted. VoLTE works fine(unlike LOS17.1, can make a call). everything works flawlessly except screen lock.
When set a PIN for screen lock. screen lock was already changed try again with new screen lock toast message is popped and settings app keeps stopping.

Saw this while at work yesterday and flashed it to my spare when I got home. I haven't even put a sim in it yet and have mostly just messed around with display settings and customization.
First impressions are good, really good. Like, may become daily driver good. I've never seen Bliss ROM but I like it, especially the gradient feature under themes. I will test more when I have several days off work.
Thank you for your hard work on this ROM.

it is not working.
Very good rom.
Lot of features, good performance, battery, smooth as silk but
Cannot setup lockscreen
Keyboard is white with white letters so i cant see letters
Webview is broken so in logging to google play or stock browser you cant see everything but working
Connect to sim card takes more time than in AEX 10
Gps not work
Otherwise very glad to see another good rom for this device but every android 10 rom for lilac had some bugs.
I don' t understand for what reason to do multitude of roms with crippled things, like it is working ok, but gps and cell not working.
Maybe uniting of all zx1 compact modders will fix things up to bring us one neat room. I am on modpunk's 16.1 version, no google cr#p, iptables fw, vpn. Nice little device.
Same issue for me:

exact toast text:
“screenlock was already changed. try again with the new screen lock.”
followed instructions in thread - researched this and saw it on several other devices. Seems to have something to do with forced encryption in android 10.
Even after getting past the setup, I can't enable PIN (or pattern or password either) and therefore fingerprint can't be setup either. Tried dirty flashing the rom just for testing over my backed-up stock rom (with fingerprint and pin configured) and it asks for the pin on startup as expected, but then crashes out and just keeps on asking for the pin.
another issue with the Screen Lock
When you set the "Screen Lock" with None,
the next time after you reboot you can't touch the screen on the desktop, but all touches works fine with the Quick Settings and Power Botton Menus,
seems like the desktop was blocked by 'some kinda invisible lockscreen'
You can change the settings back while you edit the Quick Setting Tiles-enable Immersive mode-short touch to change it to Immersive statusbar-and another long touch to enable it,
then the desktop works and you can change the "Screen Lock" back to Swipe

I accidentally grabbed the July when I flashed it but that was good because I started over from newflasher with the new version and was able to compare the two. This update is very smooth and set up was a lot easier than with the July.
I'm liking this ROM a lot and will be continuing to test it on my spare.
Thank you very much!:good:
fully wipe and install Aug.08 build
Encryption is still broken. can't setup screen lock.
rebooted once during first setup
AudioFX and MusicFX are duplicated. I think one of them is unnecessary

I hope my feedback is meaningful
Thanks for this ROM, i liked.
For me does not work finger print, I will retry a new flashing.
I have something of new to ask, I liked all BLISS customization.....
May we have a feature to enable the possibility to HIDE the bottom/footer navigation bar? I prefer to use the floating softkey.
Thanks again Roberto.
Hopefully you guys can figure out the encryption issue soon so we can set up a proper lock screen to set up fingerprint lock cause as it stands can't do either

Project Elixir is another aftermarket AOSP ROM which basically offers minimal UI enhancement & close to Stock Android ROM with great performance, security and stability.
