TWRP - Samsung Galaxy A71 Guides, News, & Discussion

Maybe someone's going to put it on our machine. Not exynos we have, but a noble snap. I think it's easier than the a51, but there's more community, they even have a complicated gsi installation scheme, which I couldn't replicate on a71. So many different treble firmware, and the opportunity to put no. Fastboot and bootloader don't allow this to happen

If GSI is what u want to try, check A70. It's almost the same as a71 except that one is sd675.

Any official TWRP for the A751?

Nobody are working for TWRP?

Please, please, please @ all twrp dev. make a Version for A71. We NEED resurrection remix mod!!!

Rom options

would we be able to install a non miui rom on this phone?
Sure. But there isn't any out right now. Development has been slow because many reasons including kernel source not being released fully initially and phone being bricked way too easily with test builds. If you're looking to buy the phone with hopes of flashing a custom ROM, go for the Mi 9T Pro instead. If you already have the phone, be patient for a while.
There's hope from POSP dev, he's actually tried hard building a rom for this device despite getting bricked so many times. Still in progress, be patient.

That's really nice to hear. Is there a POSP Telegram channel we could get latest news at? Thanks!

PHH's AOSP GSI ROM actually works on this device, just download the A/B version of the GSI and you're good to go.

Huh? Why are we hearing about this for the first time?
We need everybody to promote the bricking issue of redmi note 8 pro so that xiaomi will remove the authentication account.it's absurd to keep us blocked from developing. Pleace make posts everywhere you can so people will know the problem. follow the #note8probrick on twitter and express your dissapointment

The N8pro is known to work at the moment after being flashed with that particular ROM, but it really needs to be tested for bugs before it gets promoted as an option.
There are also some other ROMs that derive from PHH's AOSP GSI ROM that could possibly work on the N8pro such as LineageOS 16, Resurrection Remix, and HavocOS

Can I flash Android 11 rom on my Android 10 device?

As the title suggests. I recently bought my 7T and wanted to install XTended but it appearently built on Android 11 while my device is still on 10 (OxygenOS v10.0.15 HD65BA).
Just want to make sure. This will be the first time I attempt to flash a custom ROM and I don't want to mess up because of stuff like this.
Of course

Really?
I just want to make sure because I saw on the post of Ressurection Remix this point and it got me worried
"1. In general, you want to have the SAME version of OOS on both sides. Im not going to go into detail on how to MSM, and flash a full OTA locally, reboot, then flash the same OTA locally again and reboot."
Is this step already covered when installing a Android 11 ROM or is that something I can disregard? Or should I make sure I do that as well?

Well, it first depends if the ROM is using OOS10 or OOS11 blobs. I've seen lots of people install A11 ROMs before OOS11 were even out.
But I'd go into the ROMs telegram group or something and ask just to be safe.

Question When TWRP for OnePlus 9 Pro?

Dear,
I need to have TWRP for rooting my OP9Pro but it is of course not available for the OP9Pro since it is brand new. Since i am experienced with flashing TWRP on OnePlus phones i already now that TWRP officialy doesn't support the latest phones of OnePlus so i know that the TWRP's used for that are from Mauronofrio and others. But does anyone know how long it would take till someone has developed a reliable version of TWRP for it and maybe also how long it would take till MSMDownloadtool become available for us?
Regards,
Kuno
It will become available when it does. No one knows when. One day you may see it. Or not. Flip a coin and good luck!
You also do not need TWRP for root.
There is already this thread asking for TWRP since the start of this sub-forum : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-come-we-dont-have-root-and-twrp-yet.4252335/
For rooting without TWRP, here is an explanation : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...gisked-boot-root.4252373/page-4#post-84747985
Unlocking the bootloader is done by rebooting in fastboot mode and fastboot oem unlock

[DEV]How to compile TWRP touch recovery
All of TWRP 3.x source is public. You can compile it on your own. This guide isn't going to be a step-by-step, word-for-word type of guide. If you're not familiar with basic Linux commands and/or building in AOSP then you probably won't be...

I don't think this is applicable because the recovery is a part of the boot image and this guide is for creating a standalone recovery image I think since android O (someone can correct me if I'm wrong on which android version introduced this)

Well, this guide still covers the basics of setting up a tree and building. You'll need that regardless if your device has a recovery partition or not.

Question S21 FE 5G Custom Rom

Hi guys!
I bought a S21 FE 5G and noticed that it seems to let you unlock the bootloader, apparently unlike other Samsung phones? However I have not found a single tutorial on how to install a custom rom on the phone. From what I read there is a TWRP for the phone so I would guess that it should at least be possible to flash some GSI images. Is this correct or is there some reason why there are no GSI instructions for the phone even a year after the phone launched? Maybe some Samsung specific issues?
Any insights are appreciated.

Did you read my post? I was asking why there is no instruction on how to install custom roms, not where I can find GSI roms. Treble check tells me that S21 FE 5G does not support project treble. Can I still use GSIs?
Edit: Did not see your post, I was looking in S21 FE --> development

The Treble Check App I used tells me that my Device isnt Supported, but another says that it is.
I used some GSIs on my Device (PE+ and Evolution X) so it is possible.

No custom rom seems to work

hello everyone,
I'm trying to install Evolution X (or any other custom rom) on my redmi note 9 pro (joyeuse global version, I'm sorry if I'm posting this here but I didn't find the Global version forum, just the indian one). Every rom i get seems to be miatoll, and of course if I install it from TWRP it just doesn't work. I couldn't even find it in the official evolution X website, I'm currently hopeless. Is there any joyeuse rom or maybe a way to install a miatoll rom and it working just fine? I would be extremely grateful for your support, thanls in advance.

miatoll is Curtana, Joyeuse, Excalibur and Gram. And maybe a few more I lost oversight tbh! If your device is actually a Joyeuse, miatoll roms should work.

Because there is no official Evolution X rom for any of those devices, of course you won't find it on the official website.
So step by step: What exactly do you mean when you say "it just doesn't work"?
If I was in you place I'd just flash the latest official MIUI rom again, just to be sure everything is back to normal in case I screwed something up. Then, I'd just install LineageOS: Official support for joyeuse, one of the oldest and most stable custom roms there is.
To do so, first make 100% sure your device is a Joyeuse! There are so many Note 9 models and many wont work, so be sure you got it right.
Then, follow this guide to reinstall latest MIUI stock: Select "Fastboot update" on the left side, then just follow the steps. Make sure to select "flash all" later in the process(and not "flash all and lock" or "flash all except storage"), you don't want to lock your bootloader again. Needless to say all data on the phone will be deleted.
Then, just follow this guide to install LineageOS. Be sure to read it carefully and follow every step exactly as written down.
You should now have a working custom rom. Let me know if this helped or if you keep having issues!

thank you for your support. the problem was twrp: there is no twrp for miatoll, so that caused some problems when i wanted to flash any rom. I simply switched to orange fox and installed a custom evolution x which is working pretty fine. Thank you again!
