Please Help, Redmi Note 8 Pro is bricked. - Redmi Note 8 Pro Questions & Answers

On android 9 i flashed preloader and ik, then installed custom rom(pixel expierience). I used it for a week. For some reason, i think either fingerprint or battery. The phone shut down.
When I press the power button, it turns on, does not show redmi logo then switches off after 2 seconds. When I charge, it does the same thing repeatedly. SInce the screen switches off after a second, I cannot boot to fastboot or recovery. If I press power and volume up, it goes to the preloader menu, when I press normal boot or recovery, it shuts down again. I do not know what to do now. Do I use miflash or sp flash tools. Or do I have to do to send it to mi service center.
I cannot let the battery drain because It automatically switches off.
Im not sure whether I have to charge it or drain it. For some reason the phone keeps switching on when charging then shutting down.
Any help would be appreciated.

Why did you flash preloader and lk image and then download custom rom? So to fix it I can only advice to take off battery.

Try this...

So if you already flash preloader and lk file then you can easily unbrick your device using sp flash tool without any authorise account. Just download any fastboot rom for your redmi note 8 pro and install mi flash pro tool or sp flash tool in your pc/mac. And then in sp flash tool select scatter file which is on images in your download rom and select da and auth file which is in your install location generally in your c drive. After select all files click on download and after that plug in usb with your device while holding vol up button then it will flash rom automatically. Only you need to wait some time. But keep in mind if you don't flash those preloader and lk file then you need authorise account for flashing.
I hope this will help.

power button not working after turn off 3 cpu core of 4 cores z00a

Help me guys I am with a dead zenfone 2.
Let me explain completely. I was using clean stock ROM v2.4
. after I update to latest build of 31st march, I just unmark 3 CPU cores 2nd 3rd and 4th except 1st one using kernel adiutor mod. And after few hours suddenly power button auto pushing itself and my battery was completely drained and gone power off. Later I charged much and tried to power on but it was not showing charging status and not powering on so I had to descemble it to remove battery connection and reconnect it. In result it just vibrate once if I reconnect it and press vol up button then it vibrates twice and take me to fastboot mode. So if I update again any rooted ROM then it stucks at verification failed logo then keep rebooting after 2-3 minutes by staying that logo. And if I unroot in from fastboot mode then my phone boots up but still power button not working. And I cannot re enable those CPU cores being unrooted. Today I tried unbrick process after all step in adb fastboot mode, whenever I try to flash system.IMG cmd says error: cannot load file system.IMG.
So guys please help me now I can only access fastboot mode by plugging cable and pressing vol up button as power button still not working. I am pretty sure power button is not broken at all. So got two probs together.
1. Power button not working.
2. Error : cannot load file system. IMG.
I am running windows 10 and 4 GB ram Sony VAIO laptop and 12gb free space in my c drive.
Please guys help me to get back my phone.
There's not much anyone can advise when you have a collapsed power button I'm afraid.
You could flash a raw in fastboot bootloader mode with AFT but, then you could lose the function to power on which you are bootlooping with at the moment when inserting cable,
So people , will not give you advice because of this
there has to be any way to flash system.img no ???

[UPDATED] Recover from Hard Brick and QFIL guide through bootloader.

This guide is to recover the Zuk Z2 (plus) from hard brick state
So you might be stuck here -
Phone is not turning on
Phone Reboot and screen go black with notification light on and you are unable to switch it off.
How To-
1. How to switch it off
- First this is happening because you have locked you're bootloader
- You have black screen and led on so just hold power button then Zuk logo will be flash after that you will get black screen again and the phone is preparing to reboot but before that the led will get turn off immediately release power button.
(It's crucial timing but when rebooting your device vibrates so it's the time when phone is about to start vibrate while LED is off just leave power button)
- You have it Your phone is switched off
(Tip- Let it reboot once after that don't leave the power button and after that led will get off you have to remove finger from power button this is tricky )
2. Going to Bootloader
-First connect the USB to laptop
-After you have switched off your phone press volume up and down together and with holding buttons connect the phone to USB and you will see the fastboot mode.
3. Unlock your phone
-Remember the unlock bootloader file in your email re download it and unlock your bootloader again
- Don't reboot right away as you don't have any OS installed Even if it boot it might give problem.
- after unlocking phone you will see phone rebooted press power button reboot press volume the volume button and go to reboot option
4. For Userdata
- I suggest you to flash recovery instead of using old installed one.
- go to fastboot and flash the TWRP.
- Boot into TWRP and you will see your data on internal storage is present so just sideload ROM or if you have in internal storage just flash
( Note- in case you are using TWRP 3.4 newer roms with factory based ROM will flashed without problem in case you are trying to flash old Oreo non-treble ROMs you need to wipe like you do for normal ROM installation and reboot to recovery then flash Oreo Non-treble ROM otherwise they will not boot even after flashing)
Or
- QFIL ZUI 4.0.199ST as this QPST
- When selecting the XML file select retain userdata one so it won't erase your userdata partitions
5. In case you want to flash ZUI
- Load files in QFIL
- To reboot phone into EDL from Fastboot mode type following command
Code:
fastboot -i0x2b4c oem reboot-edl
- It will get detected in QFIL just hit Download.

Unbrick Redmi Note 8 PRO for Incorrect TWRP Installation Without Authorized Account

After I try to flash twrp using Miui 11 the device turned brick, follow the tutorial to resurrect the RN8PRO without using Mi Authorized Account:
0 - If your RN8PRO turns brick and is connected to USB on the pc just 5 seconds make this tutorial.
1 - This method works only if you have installed TWRP and the device turned brick.
2 - Disassemble your device by doing test point your device asks for mi.
3 - After trying to pass the official rom via miflash or sptools, the RN8PRO asks for the authorized account. CANCEL.
4 - Disconnect all devices from the motherboard, GPS, 3G ANTENNA, CAMERAS and WIFI, leave only the battery on, if the procedure does not work disconnect the battery too.
5 - At this point your device will be working perfectly, plug in the USB cable, press the power button + volume button - the device will go into fastboot, flash to rom STOCK by miflash leaving selecting the Clean All option only. Wait to flash the rom , this process may take 15 minutes.
6 - After Flash your device will turn on normally, turn off the device, remove the USB cable, reconnect all previously disconnected devices, close the device and turn on again.
7 - Ready your device will be working again. :fingers-crossed:
8 - If the procedure is unsuccessful, wait for 4 to 5 days for his battery to completely exhaust, charge it for 3 hours and then redo the process. :good:

Hi, my r8 pro has bricked recently, i'm really scared, can you help me? i already tried these options:
°boot > recovery = black screen
°boot > fastboot = black screen
°boot = black screen
°i disassembly my cellphone and disconected and re conected the battery but nothing
°i'm trying to drain battery power to 0% because it was charged to 80% and now i'm connecting some things to negative and positive parts of the cable of the battery to consume energy and drain the battery
°i tried "test point" but it is the same has enter to the recovery (vol+ pwr) because it boot to the recovery, and it ask me for MI account authorized when i try to flash stock rom in sp download tool
my redmi note 8 pro only led blinks when i connect the usb to my pc or when i charge it.
Can you help me? please. my discord

Discharging battery will only be useful for when recovery/boot are not crashed. When anything happened, installing twrp, boot image etc, it will very easy to crash, based on your desc, it's hard bricked, need authorised account to refresh. Prepare for $30 to deep flash....

Phone Not Entering DA mode.

So Here are the steps
1. My bootloader got unlocked.
2. I Installed factory preloader and lk images.
3. Rebooted to Fasboot and flashed TWRP 3.3.1-0924 by wzsx150 (the only Android 9 recovery that didn't get removed immediately after flashing and rebooting for 1st time to get to recovery).
4. Formatted Data, Closed AVB 2.0 and Signed TWRP.
5. Rebooted to Fastboot and flashed stock EEA Android 9 (11.0.3.0) from Global (11.0.6.0) and reflashed factory preloader and lk.
6. Rebooted to recovery, Formatted Data, Closed AVB 2.0 and Signed TWRP.
7. Using ADB sideload from Twrp Installed EEA Android 10 (11.0.2.0).
8. Rebooted into fastboot Installed Updated TWRP-3.3.1-1210 (by wzsx150).
9. Rebooted into fastboot and flashed misc.bin from same zip (according to bat file inside it should get flashed after recovery but I forgot.)
10. BRICKED. Booted to Redmi logo for 3 seconds and rebooted infinitely.
This type of brick in 4pda.ru according to google translate can be mitigated by letting battery drain and then enter DA download mode using SP Flash Tool.
I've Used the tool several time so I thought Okay no big deal.
So This is what I tried:
11. Pressed download button
12. Connected USB Cable to phone.
13. Device pauses a second (Probably for SP Flash Tool to respond) then doesn't enter DA (Unlike previous times) and screen brighten for a second or two but then turns off and repeats this process forever.
I've been using Drivers provided by Microsoft Update Catalogue but tried all the drivers on 'MTK Usb Driver v1.0.8' and 'Mediatek_Driver_Auto_Installer_1.1352.00' after disabling Driver Signature Enforcement. but even though drivers are installed they don't get loaded and after force installing them in add legacy drivers they are their but have yellow triangles and their Location lists as 'Unknown' and status as 'This device cannot start. (Code 10)'. Tried Removing them after adding them as a site suggested but that didn't work either.
I learned the hard way to never mismatch partitions with this phone. I thought having the factory preloader and lk1/2 would protect me but no.
When you say brick, do you mean you have a completely black screen with only the notification LED turning on when you plug it in?
Grab a bootable Linux image and use that on a USB stick to eliminate the driver issue you're having. Interface is identical

So I tried Ubuntu. Problem isn't from Drivers. It's because my Windows or linux didn't ever got a chance to enter fastboot so they can load preload drivers properly.
In Windows, Mediatek USB Port is the only driver that get loaded, and that for only an instant then it disappears in Device Manager.
In Linux according to this Tutorial everything is fine but SP Flash Tool gives me a " ERROR : STATUS_ERR (-1073676287) , MSP ERROE CODE : 0x00. "
Based on this chinese site I should find my Vendor Id and Product Id specific to my system (or is it my chipset?) and then change some files but how do I get linux to recognize mediatek usb device first when It needs to enter fastboot for that to happen.
Is there any way to manually add it?
EDIT: So After some reading I realized that I have to get my phone to fastboot first to get the drivers recognized. In windows as far as I know there is no way for manually adding 'Location' to Drivers. what about Linux?
I think you're talking about a soft-brick and I'm talking about a hard-brick. If you can get to fastboot, it's a soft-brick.
Hold the volume down and power buttons simultaneously for 1min and see if your screen changes.
Don't worry about the Linux drivers, if your phone is in the correct mode, it'll work.
I don't think it's a Soft-Brick (unless Hard-Brick means even the display not turning up at all), Holding them for a minute with battery charged doesn't do anything. As soon as it boots back up it starts getting caught in Booting until Redmi logo and staying there for 2-3 seconds then reboots. I tried to hold Volume Down + Power for 3 minutes while caught in this bootloop but no fastboot. I'll retry when battery discharges again. first without usb cable attached then with.
Thanks for taking time to work this through with me. Nowadays with all service centers being closed it's really a nightmare to have something you need on internal storage and not being able to access it. First thing I'll do after this is to buy a 128GB SD card to store the important stuff.
By the way should I just use the Live Ubuntu or Install it to see if the problem is from being a live image.
When I hard bricked my phone, I didn't have anything but that white led when I plugged it in. If you have the redmi logo, should mean there is hope. I've only ever entered DA mode when I had a hard brick.
This might be one of those situations where letting the battery drop to 0% would allow you to access fastboot. MiFlash only works in fastboot and DA mode I believe. What happens when you hold volume up and power for a minute while plugged in to your computer? Run "ADB devices" to start the adb service first
I doubt it would make a difference live to installed, but it's your call if you have the time.
With Phone in Bootloop mode Holding Either Vl+ and Power or Vl- and Power doesn't make a difference.
With Phone Off and USB detached It's the same.
With USB attached Vol+ and Power for over 3 Mins result in Device Manger listing 'Mediatek USB Port' for as long as display remains 'dark but bright' (for 2-3 seconds then shuts down and turns itself back on). removing it when phone suddenly shuts down. when USB is detached phone remains shutdown.
With USB attached Vol- and Power for over 3 Mins result in Phone's Display Brightening for 5 seconds no device listing in Device Manager nor entering fastboot or being recognized by adb or fastboot (set on a permanent re-checking by a cmd script). then phone shuts itself down and back on.
LED situation:
With Vol+ and Power with USB attached LED when phone is Off is Fullbright. When Display Brightens It turns off.
With Vol- and Power with USB attached LED when Phone is Off Blinks Once Fullbright and then remains Semi-bright whether phone is on until shutdown and the Blinks Fullbright again.
I Live in Iran and with sanctions there is no way to pay anyone overseas. Unless they're willing to risk accepting cryptocurrencies from an Iranian , my only chance if I can't work it out is to wait till unofficial service centers here open.
Your phone only being detected for 5 seconds is supposed to happen. It checks for a signal from so flash and if it doesn't see it, drops off.
I'm not sure paying someone to remotely flash your phone will work if SP Flash isn't even trying or detecting your phone. With mine, it would detect and try to flash (red bar sitting at 100%) before throwing an error.
Try letting your battery die, if that doesn't work, maybe the test point mod will work. Otherwise, I think your only option is a service center.

Question Stuck on "Wiping, please wait" screen whenever I turn on the phone

My Oneplus 9 Pro boots into the wiping screen every time I turn it on/reboot. The progress bar goes to ~99% and then sits there seemingly indefinitely. I am able to boot to fastboot screen, but if I select "START" or "Recovery mode" the phone reboots and goes to the "Wiping, please wait" screen and again gets stuck there.
I can connect to the phone with fastboot.exe from Windows.
How do I get out of this loop?

Thank you. I finally figured out that to get into EDL mode, you need to press the VOLUME UP+VOLUME DOWN for approximately 40 seconds, but NOT the power button. The phone screen will stay black and provide no indication that anything has changed. Then connect the phone to the PC and MSM Tool will detect it and I was able to successfully restore the phone to working state.

Actually, when you turn off the phone, you just hold BOTH volume buttons and connect the cable (PC), and takes like 2-3 seconds to enter EDL mode.
