Suddenly Disappeared Folders in Gallery - Lenovo Vibe P1 Questions & Answers

Hi, 2 days ago 2 of my folders in gallery got suddenly disappeared. There was a 'Camera' folder and a 'Kamera' folder (in Turkish), and there was a 'Screenshots' folder and a 'Ekran Görüntüleri' folder. Folders named in Turkish (disappared ones) was like the real folders, they were the main ones. All my new taken screenshots and photos were in that folders. The other ones contain some old photos. I remember i deleted 2-3 videos but did not deleted any of that folders accidentally. I looked at google photos but there were only old pictures. I tried many recovery programs but they didnt work because they are not deleted, they got lost. Is there a way i can try? They were so important to me please help...
(Also i tried to find by connecting PC, but i dont want to try format because they could be in internal storage.)

WM 6.1 - changing settings for Pictures/Music to SD Card?

How do you make the photos and Music settings to always look at the SD card path? right now photos are blank and I have to pic folders and go to the SD folders manually.
thanks!
This has been a topic discussed several times. It has to do with the chome.dll file stored in the /windows directory. For some reason it only maps to the /my documents/my pictures and the storage card/pictures folders (called storage card/DCIM). So the only work around, although a poor one, is to create a folder in the main root of your storage called "pictures" ( and not "my pictures") . Then place your pics there and they will show up on the sliding panel on your home screen. You will also be able to acces them from there. The only thing this will not do is send all of the pics you've taken from your camera to that directory. It will still put them in /storage card/my pictures (assuming you are using your storage card for puting your photos to) so you will still have to manually move those pics to the /storage card/pictures directory when you finish taking the pics.
Wow it's amazing what one can stumble upon when they are not looking. I had the same problem just never really searched out the issue. I tried what you suggested and works like a charm! Thanks pudgedaddy!
You can also create a folder called "DCIM" and it will detect the pictures on there as well.

[Q] Sub folders in My Documents erased...

I am not certain how exactly it happened. I am guessing that it has something to do with my deleting a backup folder while my Tilt 2 was connected via Active Sync. However, all of the sub-folders in My Documents (save for Templates, Ringtones and Wallpapers) seem to have been deleted off of my device. I did not have anything in those folders since I primarily use my storage card, but I would like to put those folders back. I added the "My Ringtones" folder myself, and threw a few sound files in their to see if the device would find the folder and it did so I do not believe that any damage to the registry has been done. I just need the exact names of all the sub-folders in My Documents to put everything back the way it was. Thanks!

pictures not showing in gallery after moving to ext sd card

Hey guys, I recently transferred my photos from phone storage to sd card now it is not showing in my gallery. I am pretty certain I found the answer somewhere on here before but I can't find it anymore.
1. The pictures are there in my sd card I can view it in my a file explorer, but it does not show in "gallery"
2. I tried clearing data for gallery and media. I also tried force closing them, still a no go.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
You can always go to your DCIM (or DCMI i really forget) -> media ->whatevs folder you got and put your photos there. Some of my photos don't appear in the stock htc gallery either. Must be directory thing. I just use google photos but DCIM is the main directory so it should work.

Yeah I've done that before, but I remember the was a really simple solution. I think I came across it in one of the rom threads a few months ago, but can't remember.
Aside from restarting the phone there's always this.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.promethyl.force.media.scanner&hl=en
Clear the cache with an app like sdmaid.. It is probably retaining old links etc
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
Is there a ".nomedia" file hidden in the folder that contains your pictures? If yes your problems should be solved if you delete it.

Gallery empty - .nomedia

So a friend of mine had a problem where facebook stickers kept showing up in the gallery. The solution was simple, create a .nomedia file and put it into the com.facebook.orca folder in internal storage.
But since id forgotten initially where to put .nomedia, i put it in the root directory, and then the android/data directory.
Now my gallery is empty, even though i have deleted the .nomedia files since then.
I cleared the app data, disabled it, restarted, enabled it. Waited for a while, but nothing seems to bring them back. Not just gallery, but to any app.
Any suggestions, short of flashing?
Edit: Files in my external storage are visible. Files in my internal storage, that were there before i created .nomedia, are not visible. Files in my internal storage that were created afterwards are visible.
So its like my older whatsapp images are invisible and newer ones are visible.

!Deleted DCIM folder!

Hello,
Today I had inadvertently deleted my ZUK Z2 Plus DCIM folder when the phone was attached to PC via USB cable.
I have two backup on Microsoft One-Drive and Google Foto of mine most important pictures but the problem is another:
I would like to know how I can recover the former DCIM folder structure, or better recover the former sub folders below the DCIM root directory and the data therein contained. I've found a plethora of instructions and applications to recover photos but nothing about the DCIM folder recovery from the SD card in case of wrong deletion.
Are there any possibilities?
Many thanks!
