How to root redmi note 8 pro chinese variant with global rom installed - Redmi Note 8 Pro Questions & Answers

I bought redmi note 8 pro from china so it is a chinese variant phone but i flashed International global Rom on it by fastboot method. I tried to flash twrp and root my phone but it looks like twrp is installed but if i root from twrp the phone doesn’t boot rather it boots to twrp repeatedly. But if i unroot from twrp then it boots normally again. Now what can i do to root this phone? Please help me guys. Thanks in advance.

device ends up in bootloop because of DM-varety check.
Flash rom zip in TWRP
flash magisk zip in TWRP before booting
you are good to go
Thanks , sorry for the late reply... Is there any other method without flashing rom all over again... i can see so many links online for flashing twrp which involves flashing supersu after entering twrp...
I read in below thread (point no 16) that supersu disables dmvarity check ... Can i follow tht guide successfully?

What's the easiest way to revert to stock? (Remove TWRP, and relock the bootloader)

I'm sorry if this was asked before, but I've been searching for a few hours now and I couldn't find a good solution.
Basically, I installed twrp and magisk on my "Redmi Note 5 A.I Global Version" a few weeks ago, and I recentely sold my whyred, just now I remembered that it has twrp on it, the guy that bought the phone doesn't mind but I don't want him to have any issues with the phone.
The phone is in MIUI 10 10.0.4, it's working great with no boot loops or anything, I just want to remove the costum recovery and relock the bootloader while being certain that the method I will use won't cause him any problems.
Can I just install miui 10 rom on twrp and it will remove twrp? And then relock with mi flash unlock?
Thank you.

Root redmi note 8 without pc

Is it possible to root redmi note 8 without pc and twrp recovery?
I don't think it's possible yet, just to unlock the bootloader you need a computer and you need to wait 2 weeks, the installion of TWRP or another recovery cannot be done without a computer others like root or Xposed need a custom recovery to be installed.

if you have an unlocked bootloader then you might wanna try the official twrp app or flashify app(can't say for sure though if it works or not)..if you don't have an unlocked bootloader then straight answer - NO..why??read above reply.

Upgrading to Android 10 on Redmi Note 8

Hello guys, I knew yesterday that Android 10 finally came out for Redmi Note 8, however for now the china version is the only one available, flashable via UPDATE.APP, right?
That's my question: I'm currently on stock Android 9, but with unlocked bootloader and root with MAGISK.
If I do the update to Android 10, will the bootloader be locked again? Will I be able to unlock again? And I guess I'll lose root too, will be possible to root with Magisk?
Thanks in advance

Just clean flash rom through recovery+flash magisk that's all. Backup everything before flashing. After flashing if reboot redirects to recovery then simply format data partition and reboot again.

i think you can not update this with update app, this update is only for beta tester
you can clean flash it with recovery, if you do this you lose everything along root, data, pictures etc
if you just want miui 12, you also can try eumiui 12 beta with Android 10 or wait for global stable
whatever you choose to do you can not lock your bootloader again even if you select it in mi flash tool you will just brick your device and, bricked device is bigger problem than locked bootloader
Wait for the official OTA update

Root redmi note 9 pro joyeuse (MIUI 13.1 Android 12)

Hello xda. I'm thinking about rooting my note 9 pro.. I have the EEA firmware version latest Android 12 update.
V13.0.1.0.SJZEUXM
I'm thinking about grab the boot.img from the firmware, patch it via Magisk and flash it using fast boot. I mean without twrp. Will it be possible for this phone and this android version? I rooted my mi 8 lite this way and it work like a charm no twrp needed. Did you ever tryed this way to root your note 9?
I mean I can't find a stable twrp version.. Especially for Android 12 .
So if i try the method mentioned above will it work? I don't really need twrp for anything. Only need root.
Yes, if you simply follow the official Magisk install guide by TopJohnWu (patching the boot.img with the latest Magisk app and flashing it via fastboot - no need for recovery) it will work. In case you have to use apps which need SafetyNet (running on the official ROM).. that's a whole different story.. then you will need USNF, too, etc..
On MIUI 12 (Android 11) my phone was rooted with Magisk, I updated MIUI and of course the phone got unrooted, I redid the whole boot.img Magisk patching thing and tried installing Magisk, but now it doesn't work, I went around trying a bunch of different TWRP, including unofficial ones, nothing seems to be working.
