Philips 55pus7304 and video calls - Philips, Sony, TCL Android TV

Hello everyone. I bought a Philips 55PUS7304 4K TV 2 weeks ago. Is there a way to make video calls with any application (Skype, Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger etc ...) on this television? If I connect one of the LG G2 (D850) or LG G3 (D855) phones I have, is there any way I can use it on TV? By the way, if I need to use webcam instead of phone, which camera would you recommend?

I found the microphone won't work on my 65OLED934 with my LG webcam or any other device with a microphone. Seemed to be a Philips thing.

[Q] Webcam and Mic

Hey everybody,
do you think i can connect my Samsung G-Track Mic and a random USB-Camera to the OUYA?
Would love to Skype with it
Not sure, I think it'd be the same as any other Android device really.
http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-7-tablet/233576-external-webcam-nexus-7-via-usb.html
If you look at the 12th post there, it looks like someone got it working.
Good luck!

Yep! this would definitely be plausible, i believe it only has 1 usb hole though (does android support usb hub?) so that is a good idea (But kinda expensive) also on a sidenote of the OUYA if Google is making a game-center (Achievements) that would go GREAT with the OUYA!
has anyone tried this yet?
I know this isn't much help, but I will be trying it (hopefully) tomorrow. I did pair my BT headset and it said the mic was working, but have not tried it yet.
I have my webcam downstairs and will try it next time I turn on the OUYA. The problem is i'm not sure there are any apps that use the camera that are compatible with the OUYA.
a little Up...
Hi,
I also was wundering how to make Skype work on my Ouya.
I've already installed the Play store with Xposed and mod Collection, then i've installed Skype.
But the problem is that i can connect thru Skype but can't make any call, even the test.
I have found my contacts from skype so it's weel connected but every call are losts...
If anyone has already configured Skype on the ouya came here...
Thank you.

[q] hdmi out - tv - skype video calls not working

Hello to everybody!
I happy to find such a forum. I recently bought an hdmi cable for my arc in order to connect it with the tv. I have plugged-in on hdmi2 port on TV.
Everything works fine. I just facing a problem when i am using Skype video call, on the phone i can see the other person that im having the conversation but NOT in the TV. The person that im skypeing with i cannot see him on TV but only on the smartphone. On TV i am able see only myself when i having skype vedeo call.
Is there any option that i can choose in order to transfer the person that im having skype video call from the phone to the TV?
Thank you for your time in advanced!

LG G3 Miracast failing

I had an S4 and a 2013 LG TV which could receive the Miracast from the Samsung S4 just fine.
I've upgraded to a G3 and it's seems to be in compatible with the LG (that's right LG) TV.
It connects, then just disconnects, no errors either side like this:-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ck8TLBqHxoQ
I've even gone as far as to factory reset the TV, just in case (It's had a few updates since purchase).
Am I missing something (Is there a known work-around or something) or was LGs flagship phone not tested with their own Smart TVs?
Any ideas / help appreciated.
- Anthony
For me same constellation. Same issue.
Bevor with s4 work.
Shame LG
OnTheRoad
Same with my sony tv as well very hit n miss as is nfc
Same here I cannot use miracast or wifi direct with my new sony tv; DLNA works though
Official bug???? How can we fix it?
thank God someone finally posted the same thing as i thought i was the only one experiencing this.
g3's miracast won't connect to my Toshiba tv.
it just shows wifi direct connected, then nothing happens.
went to the mall to try on other tv brands samsung, sony and even LG but miracast won't connect.
so i gave up and just told myself maybe it's because the phone is still new.
was using version 10A.
now i'm on 10B and still doesn't connect.
Looks like LG need to fix this but still haven't addressed this with the latest 10b release
Maybe lg is not even aware of this issue? How do we submit this bug?

I have noticed this with my previous LG G2 as well. Somehow lg tv keeps loosing stability of the miracast or dlna server.
might be something related :
hidden menu > MirrorLink Test and it will Force Close.
So is there anything we can do about this? Does this problem exist in all version of g3?
Miracast works perfectly over here. Miracast on, recognizes Panasonic VT60, off we go.
I gave up and bought a Chromecast never worked for me
Verizon G3 works fine for miracast on my 2013 F8500 Samsung. Try not connecting WiFi to your router or connect WiFi on 5ghz band. You will achieve better stability in the signal. Also don't have your tv connected via WiFi. Miracast may conflict, with your current WiFi connection or interfere when on the 2.4the band, just my experience as I also use widi on pcs. The WiFi chipset varies from phone to phone, LG may use one chipset that has more issues than Samsung
Hey guys, I just found a solution for it.
First, I read the NFC tag that came with my LG TV to connect it. It asked for Tag On app installation and after that, for the LG TV remot app. Bam! Miracast is finally working on my LG TV. Probably any library was missing and now is all good!
Please try it and let me know.
Same problem here with a LG Nexus 5, Android 4.4.4.
It plays with an Asus Zenfone 4, though without sound, not sure if I'm missing some essential bits.

Try what? What does this have to do with what TV you use? What "Tag On app installation"?

In my last post, I described a procedure that worked (temporarily) to connect to a LG TV, but never mind... it's not working anymore. Back to the point zero!

My G3 is D855 16GB with v10i software. My friend has same phone with v10c TMOBILE sw.

Not working with:
LG 42LB650V (2014)
LG 32LB650V (2014)
LG 42LB671V (2014)
Samsung UE46F6400 (2013) my own tv
Samsung UE32H4500 (2014)
Samsung UE32H6200 (2014)
Samsung UE40H5500 (2014)

Samsung UE48H6200 (2014)
Samsung UE50H5303 (2014)
Samsung UE55H6203 (2014)
LG Hungary tested with D855 v10a and an LG 42LA660 (2013) Smart TV. They said it works perfectly.

Did Miracast come with your 2013 8500 Samsung, or did you have to get the Samsung Evolution Kit to support it?
I turned on the hotspot kinda thing on the tv...connected my lgg3 to that WiFi. (Tv is still on home WiFi) and it works just fine.

amazon fire tv stick and BT headphones possible

I prefer watching things with headphones rather than using tv speakers so I can watch what I want when I want without disturbing anyone and I'd rather not have to get one of those rf headphones just for this. ..can't anyway my LG tv doesn't have headhone jack ..I was able to set up bluetooth on Aftv box ..has 4.0 useing the settings apk..
Do we need a settings.apk thats 3.0 BT compatible?..When I tried with settings.apk on fire tv stick I could manually connect but thats all ,no sound to headphones.

I tried it awhile back with aftv and couldn't connect with my BT speaker or headphone. Not sure why it's an issue because it supports some 3rd part BT game pads. Hopefully you find a solution or maybe it's already been answered??? I kind of moved on but this is a nice feature and aftv should support it. You could try Amazon tech support.
Just wondering if there are any new success story for listening to FireTV Stick audio on their Bluetooth headphones.
I was about to order a new Bluetooth headphones, glad I look here because the FTV Stick doesn't seem to be working with any Bluetooth headphones even with Settings.apk installed.
I will hold off on my Bluetooth headphone order for now...

This topic comes up often and the consensus is you can get it to work, but it's more trouble than it's worth because the audio is out of sync with the video. Even if you add a delay (for example, via Kodi's options) and get things synced, they eventually go out of sync again because the amount they're out of sync is not constant.
I haven't tried this myself. This is just information that I've read from other people's experience.
I got my BT speakers working with the settings.apk but alas it was out of sync.

I believe this is the case with the aftv. I believe with the aftv stick you are unable to even get that much (no audio at all). At least that had been my experience.
Any new update on this ? Just bought a FireTVStick and didn't know bluetooth headphone is not supported.

it does out of the box with the latest update. I have a few issues but generally it works pretty good.

it doesn't work for me.. are you talking about the box or stick? IF you are talking about the stick .. how did you do it?
apologies SptMogul, I mean the box. I read too quickly and didn't pick up that you mention the stick.
Any idea if this works with the FireOS5 Beta (Android 5.1)?
I was able to pair my bluetooth headphones to my AFS but no audio from video would play. Even got the confirmation of a successful connection.

Was this with FireOS 5?
Does FireOS 5 offer an option to pair bluetooth headphones, as FireOS 4 does not, and people have to use "hacks".
The firmware version on my AFS is 54.123
I paired the headphones using the setting hack and from the main settings menu. Both times, I got a message saying that audio should be working and that might headphones are connected. however, no audio gets played.
Problem might be my bluetooth headphones-the brand is Maze Exclusive. it might be sending "phone audio" but not "music" audio. i get a message like that on my cell phone when pairing this headphone to it on occasion and can;t hear audio from music.

Webcam

Anyone had success with using a webcam on your Android TV. I have a Logitech c270 and have managed to use it as a Google assistant mic or a usb camera but no success with video calls using Zoom, Duo or Meet. None of them find it. A bit it of Googling reveals that Logitech cameras are UVC and so supported by Duo etc..
Hello.. Same problem for me I'm looking for a plug-play webcam compatible with TCL P8 Android TV to make videoconferences with DUO which is officially present in the Google store for connected tvs. THANK YOU FOR YOUR IDEAS
Same problem here with Sony bravia xh8096 android 9. Bought a UVC with built in microphone webcam and manage to make it work while using USB camera easycap app, but when using video call apps, they can't manage the Usb audio class (UAC)... No microphone detected or available or used for another app.
Video calls directly on TV while sitting on sofa would be great. Anyone had already make it work?
Thanks
