So I'm just wondering if it's going to be a hassle with this phone, I've been searching for a good phone to root and this one popped up in my area not to expensive and it's unlocked (of course)
What I want to know is, should I get it? Will it be a good phone to root? Is it worth it? And it's it still possible to root? As far as I know it's on 9.0 software and I want to know I can even root it before I buy it

Right so Im on orange and theres an OTA update but Im rooted and on 2.3.3 (?) from build 3.0.xxxx to 4.0.xxxx (Im assuming as thats what it is, as it is on my sim unlocked phone) although I use both the newer sim free phone isnt rooted** (it was then I trimmed teh bloatware then unrooted for a repair at Sony) but I couldnt reroot after OTA update... I use this phone daily (the Orange handset) which is rooted but I havent updated as I use root features all the time and dont know if id loose root access.. Will I?

You dont lose root when OTA'ing even if it did just use superoneclick
The trick to keeping root is by pulling the battery out when the update is 75% complete.
You can try miracle grow, i hear its pretty good for roots

hello, i got samsung galaxy s2 and im welling to buy g3 because finally i found the perfect phone for me.
the thing is i dont know much about lg root method. im used to the root methods on samsung
can i root the lg g3 d855 without any problems and can i unroot it so i can got updates ?
i know that sony got problems with the root the phone became weaker, samsung got the knox so so basically unroot doesnt help is there anything same with lg ?

Rooting the phone is really easy, infact you can do it without even using a PC (towelroot). At the moment there is no custom recovery, but hopefully we will see that change once the phone is released in more countries (later this week).
As for unroot, one simple method would be to re-flash stock, but I assume you are looking for an easier solution than that.
That's what I am looking for too because of the bloody Barclays Bank app.
I want to root my LG G3, block ads, bloatware etc and then unroot to get Barklays app working
S4min, Grand 2, Note 2 - I always rooted phones and then unrooted by uninstalling root in SuperSu app.
Is there any similar method for LG G3?
Re-flashing to unroot doesn't make sense for me cos I will loose everything I needed the root for

i dont care if its easy or not the thing is can i unroot it and still use the warranty without known that i had root before ?
and another question, i read that there is boatload and its difficult to root is it true ? what is this boatload ?

I don't have my G3 yet to check (and not sure I will be rooting it straight away when I do get it, I want to see how far I can go without root first), but I cannot see why the unroot method in SuperSU would not work.

Flashing back to stock should take you back as if you have never rooted. Assuming all you did was root the phone.
If/when there are further modifications such as unlocking bootloader and flashing custom recovery images this might change.
I've got a new t807a from AT&T. According to the "about device" settings page, SE is "enforcing." My understanding is that this conclusively indicates that my bootloader is locked. It's currently running Android version 4.4.2, build number kot49h.T807aucu1ank1
I don't need a custom ROM and I don't care about tripping my knox counter (per se). I just want root. I've asked this in several relevant threads this week and gotten contradictory responses. Is there or is there not currently a method to root my tablet?
If not: is there hope? This is a great tablet but I can't live with the bloat for 18 months until I can afford a replacement. I CAN still return it and eat the 70-dollar "restocking" fee.

Just because it is enforcing, does not mean it is locked.
The s6 shows enforcing and for the T-Mobile version can be rooted with autoroot and trip Knox.

Locked bootloader aside, root can be achieved. Check the Dev pages for specifics/updates but this is the auto page link. You'll see the 807 is being tested but check back there often to monitor progress.

ATT=Locked Bootloader which there's not going to be root or anything. Same goes for Verizon. SE enforcing is Selinux. Most devices have that including my Tab S 10.5 WiFi with unlocked bootloader. SE is an protections or somesort (google it).
Since you have a locked bootloader, it will fail to flash modfied stuff to get root. It will only flash stock images. So you may have to return it. Just remember, don't buy from att or Verizon. Buy an unlocked model or Tmobile. Hope this helps!

I think you're telling me there's no way to unlock the bootloader and root is therefore completely unattainable. Is that right? If it's just a matter of "we haven't cracked it yet," I can be patient. But if you're saying there's really no hope, I'm going to be far less patient.
Is there no software solution (ie towelroot) that might help me get root without having to get past the bootloader?

Its a matter "we haven't cracked it" and no one is working on it. So basically almost to no hope and the odds of getting root or unlocking the Bootloader is really really low. There's no software solution like towel root that will get root or anything that doesn't mess with bootloader.
So there's no hope (unless some breakthrough happens).

I've got an easy working root on my t807A with kingroot. And yet there seems to be no custom roms available for it.
Slightly out of topic, does anyone have a install to SDcard solution? Nothing I find seems to work

The built-in app manager lets you move apps to SD but I also have not found a solution to install directly to SD (without repartitioning the card). After several months of despair, I'm just now checking back to see if there's been any development on the bootloader front. It appears not. You can get root with Kingroot (also check out supersume, if that's still around, to replace kingroot's su app with supersu) but apparently the bootloader being locked prevents any non-official ROM from booting.
I'm really keen on rooting just for the customisation options. I'd rather not lose warranty for sticking a custom boot animation and custom fonts on the device. In all likelihood that's all I'll ever need root for. I'm assuming this (rooting with a locked bootloader) is possible, but no method has been discovered yet?
In the meantime, any other suggestions on customising the phones font / boot animation? Is this possible without root? I've tried custom launchers (apex, nova, go, the Microsoft one I've forgotten the name of) but honestly prefer the stock one.
I wouldn't say it's possible. At least not in Android versions after Lollipop when Kingroot etc could do the job. That was some time ago though. Sorry, you'll have to unlock bootloader if you want to root that's just the way it is today.
Oh well, guess I'll forego my warranty then. Only another 7 days to go until I can unlock it haha.
the only thing stopping me from rooting is the fact ill lose android pay which ive really become a fan of lately. Before this i rooted every android phone i had. i would advise u to think long and hard before rooting in case u regret it.

No, you'll not. Just be sure to flash stock nougat rom, not deodexed one. And don't use supersu/phh's, only Magisk. You will get root and certified play store at same. Read my post here for more information :
