Verizon Moto Z Play T-Mo Band 12 VoLTE - Moto Z Play Questions & Answers

My brother gave me his old Verison Moto Z Play to replace my crappy Coolpad Catalyst.
I'm on T-Mobile and the Moto was originally on Verizon. It's a 1635-01.
I see that later Motorola sold the Moto Z Play unlocked in the US with pretty much all the LTE bands as version 1635-02.
Is it possible to flash my 01 with Motorola firmare for the 02 to get band 12 4G VoLTE?
If not I'm guessing there's no other way to get it to work with T-Mobile's VoLTE which is supposed to be band 12, right?

Anyone?

[Q] Add/unlock extra 4G LTE bands in HTC Desire 820 (d820u) Dual Sim phone ???

Hi,
Can anyone Add/unlock all global 4G LTE bands in HTC Desire 820 Dual Sim phone?
Currently it supports only LTE FDD 1, 3, 7, 8 and TDD 38, 39, 40, 41 bands. So this phone can work in Asia and Europe but not in USA 4G network (e.g. AT&T or T-Mobile).
To work seamlessly in USA 4G network, the phone needs atleast the following extra 4G LTE bands:-
LTE FDD : 2, 4, 12, 20, 26
LTE TDD : 42
So can anyone add these LTE FDD : 2, 4, 12, 20, 26 and LTE TDD : 42 bands to this HTC Desire 820 Dual Sim phone ????

download "Network Mode" in play store.
I purchased an HTC Desire 820 Dual Sim in Hong Kong last week. I used it in China on China Mobile 4G without any problems. Returned to the USA yesterday and can not get 4G to work on StraightTalk (AT&T). I had an HTC M8 (Hong Kong version) before the Desire 820 with the same SIM card and APN settings, 4G was working fine. I bought the Desire 820 because it showed support for the same 4G bands as the M8. I tried downloading the "Network Mode" app above and that didn't do anything.
Thoughts???
So I'm guessing nobody has used a Desire 820 Dual SIM on any USA 4G network?
My d820u dual sim connects to us straight talk and show H+. Never saw 4g icon. I purchased mine in Taipei.

I get the same H+ connection but no 4G on straight talk (AT&T). What I find strange is that the Desire 820 Dual SIM supports the same bands as my previous One M8 which worked on 4G just fine. While shopping in Hong Kong, I looked at every dual SIM phone on the market and compared network support. The reason I chose the Desire 820 was my impression that I would have 4G in China & the USA. The hardware is there, but something is wrong with the software on the phone. Unfortunately, this is not a popular phone, so I doubt we're going to get many technical people looking into the issue.
Bump... Love the phone but the lack of 4G when you know the hardware can do it frustrating. Anyone have some ideas?

The only reason I see is that the LTE band StraightTalk uses is not supported by your phone model. The One M8 worked because it supported a heck lot of bands. Most mid-range phones will have problems in the US if you do not buy from the US.
As for the references you have given, they are for Sony devices and the Galaxy S5 respectively........They are not guaranteed to work on this phone, you may try it, but you could risk a broken radio. I believe there was a generic guide for this somewhere for Qualcomm devices, it was featured in the XDA portal. You may find it with a little digging
EDIT: Turns out someone was able to get bands on the Verizon HTC One M8 with the method posted in the Galaxy S5 forum, so it might be worth a shot. But it isn't an easy process

As far as I can tell, the M8 does not support more bands than the Desire 820, in fact, the 820 actually supports more bands than the M8.
Thanks for the advice, not sure I'm up for losing 3 days of my life trying to learn and hack the Desire into working.
Bump, anyone ever get 4G working in the USA?
Nice to have Android 5.0.2, bummer that I still don't have 4G
I too need a phone that supports USA LTE frequencies dual SIM? Any luck with this? I have not found 1 phone that can do Asian LTE and USA LTE with dual active SIM functions i.e. 4G + 4G at same time.

Moto Z Play Droid VS Moto Z Play International

Hi everyone, hope will get my Moto Z play but I don't know which should I get.
I'm living outside USA. We have 3g only. to LTE in country. so there are propositions to get Moto Z Play Droid (Verizon I assume) unlocked for any carrier.
And MOTO Z Play international version.
How do you think, will I have some issues if I get Droid? Firmware compatibility, battery life, something else?
the price is the same.
Thenk you in advance
Why would you even get the Droid, outside of the US mind you, instead of the International version?

Yup i agree. Anyone should go for international ver.
For wider compatibility of frequencies
I'd imagine the Droid version would have more bloatware you'll not need as well.
Do not get the Droid version. You will not be able to unlock it or potentially even root it (you probably can currently with dirty cow). The only reason to get the droid version is if you need CDMA support, which almost all countries outside of the US (except china) use GSM.
There's no reason at all to get the Droid, you'll get a completely locked bootloader and bloatware, there's no benefit to it.
But if you use Verizon (me) then I have to get the droid version and stuck with a locked bootloader and no root until someone finds an exploit?

[G5/XT1676] Can I unlock LTE Frequencies requiered on my country?

Hi there guys!
I've bought a Moto G5 model XT1676 a few days ago, and it doesn't work with LTE connectivity on my country (Argentina)
I've asked the carrier about it, and they told me that my mobile does not work on the same frequencies of LTE antennas.
I knew that on some mobiles you could "unlock" this unsupported frequencies, could it be possible on Moto G5?
Thanks!
looking at the frequencies - none of the carriers in Argentina support lte on the moto g5
Your country uses a different standard of lte to other countries so I dont know how you would get lte working
For example the UK uses
LTE 800, LTE 1800, LTE 2600
Argentina uses
LTE 700(28), LTE 1700(4), LTE 2100 (4)
Unless there is Argentine firmware from a Moto G5 that was released in your country and you know the model number you could try flashing the modem files from that firmware - but if the Moto G5 hasn't officially been released in your country and you imported it or its not fully supported in your country im sorry but I dont know what you can do

Unlock Band LTE 4 and 17 for Moto Z2 Play (XT1710-09)

Hey guys, i just bought a brand new Moto Z2 Play in Spain and I from Argentina. LTE bands from here use 1700/2100 and 700 Mhz, not supported by this device. But other variations of Z2 Play like XT1710-01 or XT1710-06 supports that bands.
Can be unlocked by following the tutorials to unlock Qualcomm Android Device and rooting the phone?

XT1650-05 unlock 4G band 20 possibile?

Hello, I am interested in the Chinese version of moto Z, model XT1650-05 but I do know it lacks band 20 support.
Is it possible to enable band 20 flashing RETEU modem part? Or using qspt?
