LG V35 Android 8 to 10? - LG V35 Guides, News, & Discussion

I currently have an AT&T unlocked LG V35 with:
Android: 8.0.0
Software Version: V350AWM10n
I was wondering if I could skip 9 and go straight to Android 10 when the kdz file gets available in this lg-firmwares site.
This will be my first attempt and I wanted to know if the kdz file contains the full Android image much like a Windows/Linux ISO so that you can just install it on the phone with no other files or OS that's already on the phone.
Thanks!

Yeah you can. Wait for the NAO/ ULM firmware. A guide will come out then

I don't think that would be a good idea. People have been having issues crossing over even from Oreo awm to Pie ulm let alone jumping straight to 10. I suggest cross-flash from AT&T Oreo to ULM Oreo first, then upgrade to Pie so you're ready for Android 10 when it comes out. Another benefit of doing it incrementally is that we know ARB version does not change between Oreo and Pie on this phone, so if for some reason you screw up or want to revert or get bricked, you can easily unbrick your phone.

Thanks for your inputs, I'll wait for the guide and go from there.

Time to root my LG G4 H-815TR v20i. What do I do?

I have boringly used an LG G4 for almost two years now. Just after a few months of using it, I had the bootloop issue, LG gave me another G4 which I've been using for more than a year. But I believe it is time to unlock the true potential of my phone. I've transferred all my pics and vids and similar stuff to my computer, so now it's go time. The only thing is... I don't know what to do.
Model number: LG-H815TR
Android version: 6.0
Android security patch level: 2017-03-01
Kernel version: 3.10.84
Build number: MRA58K
Software version: V20i-TUR-xx
These are the info I think are relevant. I have no experience in rooting whatsoever. What do I do now? (an up-to-date detailed guide also works for me)
Hey,
I still need help for this.
I've checked online and couldn't find anything for H-815TR v20i running Marshmallow.
Can someone come to my rescue?

It's very easy:
You can't unlock your device because LG allows unlocking of the 815 international version and 811 only.
Marshmallow can be rooted on unlocked devices only (so not on yours).
If you really need root you need to downgrade to lollipop.
Downgrading to LL requires a compatible anti roll back version. Search the forum for the code which displays your current antirollback version and the how-to for downgrading and rooting LL
.
Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Labs
Oh okay.
So I can't root my phone as is, I need to downgrade to Lollipop to do that.
Well I was thinking of flashing some custom ROMs and maybe underclocking for more battery life but given that this is my only smartphone I'd better stick to its current state then.
find the service menu for your phone. Google lg g4 service menu. call that number. check anti roll back version (last entry) if 0 you should be ok to downgrade, if not 0 downgrade will likely brick your device.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803
read carefully and ask a any questions before using LGUP if unsure
after that you can root with https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-100-root-success-directives-root-t3180586
or upload your img file and kindly ask someone to root it for you and re-upload it
Anti-rollback version is 0.

LG G7 ThinQ (G710AWM) Custom Boot Screen Help

Hi everyone,
I just purchased an unlocked G7 ThinQ from B&H. I found that instead of the LG startup animation there was one by a company called "Claro." I'm looking for a way to flash the original LG Splash screen or skip over it entirely. I'm aware that I'll need to root the phone first and any guides of the sort are appreciated.
Model: LG-G710AWM
Hardware Version: Rev 1.0
Android Version: 8.0.0
Kernel Version: 4.9.65
tl:dr Please help me install an LG Splash Screen instead of the Claro one.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that didn't solve my problem but now I have a new question;
Could downloading the official LG Firmware for my G710AWM be the answer? And would I have to root my phone to install firmware that came from LG?

Yeah you can use LG UP to install that firmware but it's a bit tricky to install. Also there's no root for your model since it's not unlockable.
Same Issue - Claro Startup Splash Screen
I have exactly the same issue. Only difference is I got my Lg G7 through Walmart. Anybody?
You could probably use of bridge to overwrite the "official" ROM with the one from the website. I got mine from Rogers but it has the lg splash screen. I think the only thing to worry about, if you flash the official firmware from lg, is the APN settings for your LTE. I have the same version as you though, as far as model and firmware and Android version. I wonder if maybe there is a flag you are missing. I've been researching this phone all month, and the best we can do is wait for lg to release pie. If lg bridge automatically downloads your ROM, you can just download the official from LG's website. There should be no reason why you can't at least use the official lg firmware to change the boot animation, cause that's about all we can do with this phone.
Idk maybe when pie is released they will make fast boot functional.

Thanks for the suggestions. While I'm kind of an expert on Windows, I'm not that familiar with the technical aspects of smartphones and android. Certainly don't want to brick the new phone. Might just wait for pie and see what happens. Guess I can live with the splash screen since no indication that it impacts functionality. I was just hoping that there was some easy way different cell phone providers could put their logos on the splash screen since I've seen images of the Lg G7 being powered up with various splash screens showing.
Thanks again.

The lg tools are super easy to follow if you can read instructions, but yeah, it's just a splash screen.

Cannot get system upgrade for G710ULM

I got my new unlocked G7 from ebay. I cannot get any over-the-air software update. I am using it in T-Mobile have no problem of using wi-fi calling, and HD calling.
Its software version is still G710ULM11g, Security patch level is Nov 1, 2018.
The Hardware info: Model number: LM-G710ULM, but the S/N displays nothing in it.
Any suggestion how to upgrade the software?
You need to upgrade manually.your phone most likely was sprint and the seller flashed with ulm software thats why you cannot update ota.
Use this procedure on this thead
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/cross-flash-oreo-pie-firmwares-lg-g7-g7-t3915303
And flash pie ulm.

No S/N, Its a cross flashed variant. Flash manually. But if you wanna fix S/N you have to send it to LG authorized service center:fingers-crossed:
You can use your IMEI to get the right firmware. https://lg-firmwares.com/series/lg-g7-thinq/ search here. Flash it manually using lg up

Like the others have said, more than likely it was a Sprint phone (g710PM) flashed to a g710ULM. Go to IMEIPro or a similar IMEI checking site, enter your IMEI, and most likely it'll say g710PM. Literally just went thru this 2 days ago with a phone from Ebay, but I'm sending the phone back. Seller never disclosed it and I don't want to bother with some of the potential issues/shortcomings. Like they also said, you should be able to flash other roms on it, but be aware that future over the air updates are not going to happen, and others have had varying levels of success with getting Google Pay to work on the phone. This might be no big deal, but just putting it out there. Good luck dude.

I am in the same boat as yours, got it from ebay said new ULM, it even has sticker with ULM marked on it. But now I checked, it is g710PM. Too bad its too late to return. Next time, I won't buy phone unlock in ebay.

I checked it original is g710PM. Can I just directly flash the latest ULM firmware on it?
Hi,
I also bought one of the PM to ULM crossflashed phones from eBay.
I managed to flash newest ULM firmware, but still have the missing S/N issue and the phone is not passing Safetynet CTS check. So I can‘t install Netflix on the phone.
Has anybody a solution to fix theses Issues? Manual flashing instead of OTA is no problem, but Safetynet sucks.

How did you flash the latest firmware and are there any side effects besides netflix?
Can you provide a link to the thread if there is one for flashing this.

I tried my IMEI its not in the DB 8(
I searched several different imei sites and didn't gain any success. The ulm I got was straight from a reputable distributor(sealed in box) as a carrier unlocked phone. I'm wanting to get back in to development after about 10 years hiatus.
I have however enabled "OEM unlock" in developer settings on the phone, so that's at least a good step forward.
Ok so guyz...

I’m sure if it hasn’t been done the custom rom builders can use this very nicely to build upon...
if flashing from pie I’m pretty sure it’d be best to flash the 2020 build first correct..
Lemme know your thoughts fellas
*I have no idea if bands need to be altered adjusted for it to work flawlessly on a ulm model
Or if the radio section of rom is even adjustable persayy...

Well---I went back to 20f because of WiFi calling. I had flashed the Canadian 30d (AWM)--worked very well everywhere but no WiFi calling. I live where there is little to no signal, so........
I would be interested if the EU rom has that......

Well---I could backup the phone & try it.....Happy with the WiFi calling right now, so I'll wait a bit. Would REALLY like to see a ULM 10 upgrade though.......Most of the other models have already got it---why not this one?
did anyone ever figure out how these sellers have ‘new in box’ sealed box g7’s that have 710ULm barcode on the box and all
But are sprint g7 variants
Is this something lg did as a refurb type tactic themself and sent them out
Like sprint overstock and they dumped em off to resellers ....

EMUI 9.1 for BND-L24

So I know there's no official way, but is there any hack for a BND-L24 owner in the USA to flash EMUI 9.1? I haven't unlocked the bootloader yet, but I have the code saved from back when we could get the code. Related question: is it worth it to unlock the bootloader and flash a different if I'm stuck on EMUI 8.0?
Basically, I've had my phone for about 2 years. I'm starting to get sick of it. The headphone jack has stopped working reliably. The GPS ain't what it used to be. How can I breathe some new life into this phone before I give up the ghost and replace it? Thanks for all your help.
For the GPS, there is a video out there that will help you clean the corrosion on the antenna contacts. That's suppose to really get it back to working perfect.
I know on my Mate 9, there was a work around using the Flashy tool that got a bunch of us USA users to 9.1. It did rebrand the phone from C567(USA) to C432(EU). It was actually a tool developed for the P20, but worked with the Mate 9. Not sure if the OP still has his links up or not. Here is the thread. https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...uide-how-to-install-emui-9-android-9-t3839316 Big thing is finding the right firmware to download. Right now all I can find on FF is BND-LGRP2-OVS and BND-L22. I can't exactly recall, but I believe the BND-LGRP2 is a generic system image for all of the BND phones. Huawei has changed the way they are pushing out firmware. I know when I downloaded the firmware to upgrade my mate 9 it was a generic system image.
Ok, just double checked my research and the MND-LGRP2-OVS is a generic system image and should work regardless of the Cxxx varient you have. See post #75 for clarification in this thread

LM-G710EMW update from Android 8

Hi,
Not been around here since the days of the S3.
Anyhow, recently picked up a dual sim LG G7 thinq mostly for use a backup phone.
It's a LM-G710EMW model, of which there seems to be precious little information compared to over versions.
LG Bridge doesn't seem to work in Mac anymore, but when it did it told me there were no updates for my model.
Currently it's stuck on Android 8.0.0. Are there no official updates for this at all?
Software version is listed as V10d-LAO-YT
Hi
you can download firmware here https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg710emw-firmwares/ Which exactly I cant tell because you didnt provide more info from version page (csc maybe imei).
You can flash it via LGUP (im not sure about mac compability) by this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-how-to-flash-stock-firmware-and-re-lock-bootloader.3820888/ (you need to follow first half)
Thanks. Strangley almost everything related to finding out the CSC is for Samsung devices.
Anyhow, looking at the IMEI the 7th and 8th number are 09, which according the only table I could find is India. Sounds about right, but doesn't seem to be any way to confirm it.
