How to get back stock color os recovery - Realme 2 pro Guides, News, & Discussion

I was unable to flash stock rom update(.ozip file) via TWRP recovery. I was also unable to flash stock recovery as any solid download tool was not available. I was also unable to retrieve the ota downloaded in /data partition(/data/Colouros/Ota), if I could that then using ozip decrypting tool, I could have converted the ozip to zip. What I did at the end I locked the bootloader back again which then wiped everything including twrp. I had to presse volume down button while it showed "Can't boot as the image is destroyed...". Finally the device booted me to the initial set up screen and the stock recovery was restored.
This process will erase everything in internal storage.
I posted this as I could not find anything with the link to restore stock color os recovery. I hope it might help somebody.

You have to download the stock ozip file from realme website(https://www.realme.com/in/support/software-update), then convert it to zip(https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-2-pro/how-to/convert-ozip-to-zip-installing-stock-t4065277), then flash it via twrp, remember to wipe data, as sometimes while reverting back to stock can cause issues, like screen freezing, unable to unlock phone, use subhams recovery(https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Hkv2i0xqzO7o7RrxoFNRHqKyK1Z6eDwD/view?usp=sharing) to flash the stock rom.

recovery?

ozip is available from the website.
If you flash stock rom zip via twrp, twrp will remain, if you relock the bootloader, the phone will format automatically and stock recovery will come back.

Now i am trying to update 3.2.6 to 3.2.7 getting error " Installation Failed" . Whats wrong i did .
Also i have boot logo Freedom OS don't know even i am on stock rom. Can any one help me
1. How to remove that boot logo
2. Completely go back to stock rom with stock recovery
3. Also get updates and install without fail
Please help Guys.
Thanks in Advance
Mahesh
Well, probably its a problem with your boot.img partition. Extract boot.img from stock rom zip, then flash it via fastboot flash boot boot.img and then, flash orginal recovery same as boot. Then, finally, flash via recovery STOCK ROM. Probably now it will be fine.
If not, try flash TWRP and make FULL WIPE included system partition and repeat upper steps.
Cheers.
In twrp goto wipe and do normal wipe remember don't do advance wipe otherwise it'll format internal storage as well so avoid advance wipe only do normal wipe then install full 3.2.7 zip and super su. zip

before you flash 3.2.7 mount system read-only. you can do this under "mount"
it is a known bug with twrp and oxygenos
You can download the stock boot logo from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862664522

if you are on stock recovery you cant change the mounts.
flash twrp to flash bootlogo and oxygenos 3.2.7
otherwhise you have to install via sideload but this is very slow and you cant flash stock bootlogo
so flash twrp and then mount system read-only and then flash oxygenos 3.2.7 and after or before this you can flash the stock bootlogo

I can't reflash stock recovery

Hi, yestarday I flashed CM 14 with TWRP to try it, and today I have tried to return to stock rom & recovery but I can't do it. At the beginning I have tried to flash stock recovery that I have downloaded from op.net with fastboot and I couldn't do it and after I have tried to do the same process but this time flash it with TWRP and also this time I couldn't able to fix it. In fine I have installed the stock ROM via TWRP and I managed to install it but now the problem is that I still can not install the stock recovery and accordingly I can't install op3 update.
An another problem is that I have tried to re-lock OEM from fastboot and when I try to turn on the phone, is asks me a pin to enable it and I don't know that pin because I haven't set no one

No it isn't. Because I managed to put stock ROM into it via adb with push command and after I have installed it from twrp that works. My only problem is that i can't flash stock recovery.
i have the same issue. Tried many times but i'm getting a black screen after one plus logo for both stck recovery and unmodified twrp. only moidified twrp is working. please let me know if u find a way to resolve this.
thanks in advance

Great. Can I place the file in beta8 rom .zip file and flash it using adb ??
If this procedure doesn't you can download an older version of oxygen os and update it via ota. At the first attempt when you will try it will give you an error and at the second attempt It will download all the ROM again and it will reflash by itself

I suggest you to try at the beginning with the beta 7 because if that procedure not work for you, you can't downgrade to beta 7.

Thank you.
Will let you know if it worked.
I had that problem.
Solution as follows, worked everytime for me: (I have not tried this method with the newest beta 8)
1. Flash OOS 3.2.6 firmware in twrp.
2. Reboot to fastboot and flash official oxygen os recovery downloaded from the OnePlus website. (This is still the old version for some reason, thus why it won't work)
3. Side load community build with oxygen os recovery, this will flash the new firmware back and update the recovery to be community build compatible.
4. Before rebooting erase everything (factory restore)
5. Reboot to OOS, finish setting up.
6. Turn on advance reboot in developer settings.
7. Reboot to recovery via the reboot menu. First time boot into the recovery may take sometime, but it has always worked for me.
8. After everything looks good, go ahead and OEM lock in fastboot, recovery should work as usual this time and format your phone
OP did you find a solution to this?? Im on the same boat as you

TWRP gets overwritten

I'm on latest ob18. I am able to flash it, and run it once, but after reboot, the stock recovery gets Back. Any ideas?
Just Reflash twrp via flashify or adb in fastboot mode, that could be normal if u r flash an unmodified stock rom
Yep. On latest ob-Oos or H2o for me recovery stays, after instaltion of the rom. But on a second reboot, stock recovery shows and i reflash custom recovery again.
Guys I flashed latest H2OS beta over OOS Beta18 and lost access to recovery. These are the steps I followed, please help.
1. Backup current ROM (OB18)
2. Dirty Flash New H2OS version
3. Flash recovery image again
4. Reboot system
ROM booted without any problems and all my data is present but I lost access to TWRP.
Solution attempted: Reboot to fastboot and flash recovery image again, the process is successful but still TWRP is not coming up.
Please help. Thanks in advance
Stock rom always over writes recovery best way to get it to stick is flash stock zip than twrp reboot to twrp and reboot or flash mods/root

In fastboot mode fastboot flash recovery twrpfilename Then you should have twrp back. (of course you need to have the twrp zip file on your computer)

I tried to Flash the recovery and it worked but the thing is that i cant seem to boot on TWRP.
I think that it Became Locked When i removed TWRP
So is there a way to unlock it again without anything but fastboot?
You can install boot.img via fastboot method
After that you can flash twrp in recovery mode
You should get an unpacked stock image of the system, boot and recovery partition (if you need that, I can provide one); then, you’ll have to flash every partition you need to recover with fastboot.

[SOLVED] [Zenfone 2 ZE551ML] Cannot boot into ANY recovery (corrupted partition?)

Device: Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (WW Z00A)
Current Firmware: UL-Z00A-WW-2.20.40.206-user
Bootloader version: unknown + unlocked
I've seen several tutorials about using fastboot to flash recovery back to normal, but nothing seems to be working for my device. For context, I played around with LineageOS and Mokee for a while until I decided to go back to stock firmware. I had TWRP working, so I just downloaded the original stock, formated all partitions with TWRP and reflashed UL-Z00A-WW-2.20.40.206.
That worked well, but I just realized I am unable to boot into recovery. Everytime I use adb reboot recovery, the device goes into a bootloop. The ASUS logo shows up, then recovery silently fails to load, and finally the phone reboots. This keeps going until I force the device to turn off and reboot into normal mode.
I can adb reboot bootloader and use fastboot to flash recovery images. I have tried several stock recoveries I found in the forum and blog posts. I also tried a recovery.img extracted from the official ASUS firmware package (UL-Z00A-WW-4.21.40.352-user). I also tried different versions of TWRP, most recent and one that was working on my device. No matter which one I flash, the device just won't reach recovery.
I am willing to flash the stock fimware back to the phone and recreate all partitions, if necessary... except I can't even do that because... well... I can't get into recovery!
Does anyone have any tips for a manual fastboot flash of the entire firmware? Can I somehow format and recreate this partition?
I'm thinking about improvising from the steps outlined here, but I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
Quick update: after house into the night, I found a way around it!
I eventually came across this post, which has links to a complete list of all Z00A firmwares in RAW format. So I could get a hold of the latest stock firmwares for Android L (2.x) and M (4.x).
Turns out, a RAW image is just a zip file. It's different in the sense that it contains several *.img files that compose the firmware in state ready to be flashed using tools like fastboot. Inside WW_ZE551ML_2.20.40.206_20170627.raw I found a recovery_sign.img, which I was able to flash and use successfully. Great! That recovered the original stock recovery.
After that, I was able to update my firwmare to Asus's latest android M. Strangely enough, I also reflashed TWRP after that and it also works again.
Hopefully, this can help any lost soul in the future.
Best regards to all!
Hello, My Zenfone 2 model Z00AD has stopped at recovery screen and can't get into TWRP. I have used fastboot flash recovery followed by fastboot boot for various img files including 9 of 12 TWRP image files available for this phone. I have tried the recovery file that you obtained from RAW files, but it did not work for my phone.
Any suggestions welcome!
