Game Freezing - Xiaomi Mi Max Questions & Answers

hi all
So I've been trying to flash newer roms on my Mi max (hydrogen 3/32) I've tried most of the roms available here in xda, since pie roms where released. I've been on XenonHD and Bootleggers (Nougat/Oreo not really sure) and all where working fine, til I decided to update to newer roms (pie) but with the roms I tried (Bootleggers, Msm, PE+,Lineage) I had problem with Mobile Legends game freezing, either in-game, matching, or loading screen. So I gave up on pie roms and went back to oreo (liquid remix) and everything was ok til I was facing lagging issues after 4 months of usage and got a bit bored and decided I wanna try newer roms again, this time, android Q. I tried Bliss,MsmXtnded, havoc and a few more. All had the same issue of game freezing in mobile legends. ML is the only game im playing lol. I'm on stock rom now miui10 and all are working fine, except I dont like that I can't adjust my screen size and my stock cam sucks I want gcam. Is anybody facing the same issue? I do a clean flash everytime which includes internal storage.
Can anybody help? Or enlighten me. what is wrong? Is it the roms or the game? I want P or Q custom roms.
Thank you.

[Q] Any other solution other than reverting back to 4.1.2 for lag issue ?

I am fed up with the lag issue in this GRAND duos. tried all these methods
(1) reverting back to amf7
(2) flashing bna4
(3) flashing ubmk3
(4) disbaled stock gallery app
(5) disabled as many as possible official apps....
All the solutions proved to be just temporary. After 24 hours to 4 days it starts lagging again. Now I am sick of flashing firmwares.
My phone is under warranty up to 19 April. If I go to service center and ask for replacement of motherboard/phone, will they replace just on the complain "my this phone hangs a lot. I have googled and found that many users have flashed other firmwares yet phones lag. These users say that this problem has no solution but replacement of motherboard?" (I cannot tell them that I have flashed other firmwares myself).
If any user with same problem has flashed custom ROM, please share your experience.
Bro, though I've never flashed a custom rom on my grand , but my Grand is rooted and I've flashed a lot of mods on it , but my Grand never lags . It is very fast and buttery smooth . I want to ask you that wether you directly started flashing custom roms on your galaxy grand or in the beginning you just rooted and flashed some mods like me ?
@MohdGhufran
From what date is your last stock ROM?
I'm having the same problem. But I've used the CM11 on another occasion and did not face any problem. Then I went back to Stock and updated the same last week.
The phone was very bad (lag). So I returned to the CM11, but the lag continues.
I'll try an earlier stock and after the CM11.
I'll post the result here.
(Sorry for my English by Google)
@Mohdgufran - I agree... I m running umbmk1 ... after 3 to 4 days with out restart the phone starts to lag...
The only solution temporarily is to clear the ram in task manager...
Stay wid 4.2.2 and use a ram cleaner (it sucks a bit battery but its the only possible non technical solution)

Have you tried a factory reset, followed by clean flashing a smooth ROM?? In my experience, THAT always solves any problem...

Its the stock rom that is cursed..:/
I think u need a reverse gear.. First back to 4.1 version then flash with 4.2 November month version then use cm 11 custom rom.. Its fast.. Gud battery back up.. No lag.. And all with dual sim.. I hope this will work for u..
Try greenify and the cleaner both are small apps (around 1 mb) and it will speed up your phone .....
Hit thanks if you find this usefull
Didn't root.

I have not flashed any custom ROM on this phone. Neither have I rooted it. This lag issue started since my bro got an OTA update. So, as per solutions/guidance available on xda, I just flashed official firmwares (which proved to be just temporary solutions)

it is not like that stock ROMs are not good. It is just a problem with Galaxy Grand Duos. I had rooted my Galaxy R and Galaxy S Advance and had flashed Custom ROMs. All the custom ROMs had some limitations / missing features (like USB PC connection, wifi tethering, USB tethering, etc). This is why I do not want to flash any custom ROM on Galaxy Grand.

Yes I had. Many times. But this too proved to be a temporary solution.

Yes I had tried this. Went back to 4.1 and the upgraded to 4.2. This too proved to be a temporary solution.
I don't want to flash custom ROM but now it seems like I will have to flash the same.
I solved my problem by not installing facebook and twitter as well as also installed battery saver pro which kills apps running in background for every five minutes..

[Q] Paranoid Android 4.5 beta 3 unfixable lingering calling bug

Hello everyone,
I'm posting on here because I can't find any solution to my dilemma which I am sure that other people in the AOSPA legacy community have also experienced. I have been using Paranoid Android on my T989 since the 4.4.3 update and I have regularly updated my roms since then. Somehow ever since I updated my phone to 4.5 beta 3, something prevents me from being able to hear or be heard during regular phone calls around an hour after I restart my phone.
I have tried everything to try to make my phone back to normal, I have updated my versions of AOSPA, I have downgraded to stable versions, I have gone to a debloated stock rom (which worked perfectly fine but who likes touchwiz android 4.1.2?) and back to AOSPA, I tried the latest Carbon nightly rom and the problem persisted, I have wiped my internal memory, cache, davlik, etc. multiple times. I am at a total loss as to what I should do to fix this issue. I'm currently running it on 4.6 beta 1 and I still have the issue.
I really love my GS2 and I don't want to part with it or have it running stock. Please help me.
I really appreciate it,
Chris
I've had the same issue , I was running the latest liquid smooth rom . I just flashed back to stock using Odin and all is fine on the stock rom . I just rooted again and am hesitant to install another kitkat rom for fear of this calling issue ........ Anyone else with this problem ?

I am also getting this problem on Slim 7.8....must be an audio-caf issue....Can someone go back to an old KK rom (one from earlier months) and see if they experience the same issue? Preferably cyanogenmod
I flashed to stock rom via oden and spent the weekend with the phone and all was good , I flashed to the latest cm-11 with no addons , stock cm-11 kernal and after an hour or so I lost call audio again . We must have done something to the phone in a previous rom cause not many people are having this issue . Now I have flashed about 75 different roms with no issue , I hope someone finds the problem cause I'm not to keen on the stock rom !
I've seen posted that snapchat was the cause of the no call audio problem we are having , I flashed the latest liquid smooth rom last night , download all my apps that I usually do except snapchat and I've had no issues with the calling bug . All is working great .

Which is considered the "best" firmware?

Back story: My OP3 has been running Pie for a while and I'm not impressed. The phone lags unless I force close a bunch of apps, it gets hot, and the battery dies. I'm running all the same apps I ran on Oreo and Nougat before it. Im retiring my OP3 and when I do I want to revert its firmware to an older, more stable version.
I don't care about security updates and it doesn't matter to me if I'm on Android 9 or 6. Im looking for performance mostly for things like Android Auto, google maps, etc, GPS and WiFi.
What do you recommend? Is there a firmware that is widely regarded as "best overall"? A search on the OP forums had a couple people say OOS 5.0.8 (the last 8.0 update before Pie) but Im wondering if maybe Android 7 or even 6 might be smoother / faster. I don't mind using older firmwares if I get better speed / performance.

Stock ROM comes with its own firmware which would be the best for that version of ROM. So if you are going to flash stock OOS, simply flash the full ROM. Don't flash a different firmware unless you have an issue and it is advised.
The creators of custom ROMs themselves state in their ROM threads which firmware is suitable for their ROM. Stick to that and don't flash another firmware unless you have an issue and are advised to do so.

How many of you still using stock miui

How many of tou guys are still using with miui stock rom ?

I am using revolution rom

Couldnt call everyone from my phonebook after flashing custom rom

Hello XDA-Forum,
I have a rooted Redmi Note 5 Pro. I flashed different custom roms for example pixel exprience, Lineage, resurrection remix... but I allways have the same problem. If I call some people from my phonebook for example my dad I only hear strange sounds (like an alien voice). If I flash the latest miui everything works fine. I can call my dad and everyone from my phonebook. The strange thing is that only some of my entrys got this problem. They all have different providers. Theyr phones are rooted and unrooted.
What I tryed:
Deleted my dad and make a new entry...same problem
Get a new sim card from my provider...same problem
tryed diffrent custom roms...same problem
I hope u can help me and you understand my problem (my englisch is not the best, sorry for that)
Write directly in the thread of a specific custom ROM.
In my mind its not the rom. Cause I tested 5 diffrent roms. Must be something with my mobile phone it self or a general issue.

What firmware do you have ... If it is latest than try to downgrading to previous(use fastboot ROM).. Than you need to boot in miui ROM at least once and wait, put phone to airplane mode, CCA 5 mins. Than clean flash custom ROM and try to call again... I heard that latest firmware has some issues, but not on all phones.
Just an idea, worth to try.. Good luck and hope it will work.
