Fix for Mi A3 Bugged Mexican Update - Xiaomi Mi A3 Guides, News, & Discussion

#UPDATEWARNING
WARNING DO NOT UPDATE TO V11.0.3.0
V11.0.3.0.QFQMXTC (not QFQMIXM one where MI=Global) is rolling out to the Mi A3 global users.
There was a serious bug in the latest update, so DO NOT UPDATE!!
https://c.mi.com/thread-3204184-1-0.html
Apparently Xiaomi has rolled out an incorrect build for our device. After flashing, it splashes "Telcel" logo (which is a Mexican carrier), and only SIM1 seems to work post update. If you see any updates, just ignore and do NOT flash.
If you have already updated, just open fastboot and use below command
Unlock your bootloader if you haven't already (You're going to lose all your data so backup first!)
Boot your device into fastboot and type this in the cmd window on your pc.
fastboot flashing unlock (it's going to erase, unlock and boot)
Reboot to fastboot again
fastboot flashing unlock_critical
After it boots up reboot to fastboot again
In cmd window on your pc type:
fastboot set_active a
Replace 'a' with your current inactive slot

Can anyone confirm this works?

[HELP] Fastboot commands not working (after downgrading)

Hello,
I was running Miui Oreo Global Beta.
I wanted to flash RR, so i did a wipe data in TWRP, and flashed MIUI 9 (Nougat), to avoid the ERROR 7 in TWRP if I flash directly RR.
So i flashed successfully MIUI 9 Nougat. So as usual, after a stock rom flash, TWRP was replaced by the stock MIUI recovery. So, i wanted to flash twrp with fastboot, but, i don't know why, all fastboot commands do nothing! Whereas when i enter the command "Fastboot devices", my device appears correctly, but every other commands does nothing.
I have tried to flash the fastboot rom with MiFlash, and, as fastboot commands does not work, it does nothing too.
How can i get Fastboot commands working again?
Thank you.
FIXED !
I don't know why, but I just noticed that when I enter the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", nothing happen. But when i unplug my Mi Mix 2, "sending 'recovery' (26216 KB)..." appears (but nothing happen as my device isn't connected).
So I have just restarded my Mi Mix 2 in fastboot mode, I have plugged it in my PC, unplugged, and re-plugged, and fastboot commands now works I was able to successfuly use MiFlash.
Really strange issue...
(sorry for my bad english)

[HELP] Moto G5 (XT1672) BootLoop after install firmware

Hey guys!
I install a new firmware on Moto G5 (XT1672), using the RSDLite, and now it stuck on bootloop. This is a version installed -> Moto G5 - Nov 2017 firmware NPP25.137-93
This phone don't have a bootloader unlocked, then downgrade it's not possible.
There's something can I try?
Sorry my bad english.
In fastboot mode
Type command prompt
Code:
fastboot erase user data
Or Flash the entire firmware via fastboot
You do not need an unlocked bootloader to flash firmware via fastboot - no other software is required other than the fastboot drivers

Thanks bro, i have tried this, but I didn't have sucess. Via Fastboot, didn't have errors in the process, but phone stuck in bootloop. When I put phone in Fastboot Mode, the information of baseband is blank. Have you seen this? Any idea?
Try installing a custom rom and see if it also bootloops on that, maybe it's an issue with your phone's hardware?
If you're not sure how to install a rom;
1. Flash stock firmware, reboot
2. Flash twrp, boot straight into twrp when flash finishes
3. Disable dm verity via flashable zip on twrp, reboot twrp
4. Flash a stable rom and see if it bootloops again.
Another thought that came to mind is that maybe you messed around by changing the filesystems of the partitions on your device? Because doing so is bound to throw you into a bootloop, so please do not mess around with reformatting them after flashing stock firmware.

If it doesn't work flash the entire phones firmware via fastboot

Bricked Xiaomi Mi 6

Hi,
I bricked my Xiaomi Mi 6.
My phone was bought in china, I unlocked bootloader and flashed global version.
Lately I flashed TWRP and Magisk.
Than I wanted to come back to stock and lock bootloader, so I flashed global ROM, everything was fine, stock recovery came back, so I used command "fastboot oem unlock" (I couldn't use Mi Flash, because it just stops working, when I'm trying to do anything). Than phone kept starting only to fastboot. I could also start phone to recovery, but not to system.
So, using MI Flash Unlock I unlocked bootloader again. And now I still can only enter to fastboot or recovery, not to system. And, my PC doesn't see the phone. I don't see the phone after typing adb devices to Command Prompt, also Mi Assistant doesn't see phone. I wiped everything through recovery, but it didn't help.
Please, help me with unbricking the phone. It doesn't need to be with locked bootloader or so, I just want phone to work...
I don't think it is bricked in fastboot the command should be fastboot devices not adb devices try that command
Hopefully someone here has more knowledge to help you sort it out.
You should format your userdata from fastboot that's why you can't boot into the system.
I suggest you to read this https://xiaomifirmware.com/downloads/download-install-drivers-xiaomi-mi6/ page before anything and then get XiaoMiFlash from that page, install it. It will also install fastboot and adb drivers for you.
Then I suggest you to use this https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 adb & fastboot tool since it's easy to use.
After getting miflash ready with the drivers and also the tool from the second link,
Reboot to fastboot and type
fastboot devices
After seeing your device type
format userdata
Then find a twrp image if you'd like to install any custom rom and install it from fastboot (you can find how to do it in their respective threads) or download miui from miui site then follow the instructions there go back to stock. But in case of the latter you may not to select lock bootloader option in miflashtool in case you may want to experiment with custom roms in the future.

Problem Rebooting into Recovery

I am in the process of installing LineageOS 18.1 onto a Pixel 3 XL (I have done a Pixel 3 before with no issues). I am following the instructions from lineageos.org (https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/crosshatch/install). It is specific instruction for the Pixel 3 XL. I have successfully completed the first number of steps but got stuck on the last one noted below:
Unlocking Bootloader (ALL COMPLETE)
enable OEM unlock
connect device to PC
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot flashing unlock
reboot
re-enable usb debugging
Temporarily Booting a Custom Recovery
download a custom recover (lineage-18.1-20210803-recovery-crosshatch.img) - COMPLETE
connect device to PC - COMPLETE
adb reboot bootloader - COMPLETE
fastboot devices - COMPLETE
fastboot flash boot lineage-18.1-20210803-recover-crosshatch.img - COMPLETE (received msg that sending and writing to boot_a is okay)
reboot into recovery - INCOMPLETE
will not reboot into recovery, stays in fastboot mode
last line on fastboot mode screen says "no valid slot to boot" at one point it also said "error booting boot.img"
Any idea/suggestions on what would be the problem? I did try redoing the fastboot flash boot command an additional time and again it said it sent and wrote ok, however, still unable to reboot into recovery. I did not check the version of android on the phone before i flashed the lineage 18.1 recovery - could that be the problem? Might it be that the phone cannot run LIneage 18.1 because it is on android 10? (which I'm not sure how to check at this point). If this is the problem what would be the best solution - reflash with a lineage 17.1? Or, is there a way at this point to check and upgrade the android on the phone? Perhaps there is another problem entirely.

Question Can't Unlock Phone - Failed OTA

Hi, my daughter's G10 had afailed OTA. After reboot it does not unlock via pattern any more.
I was going to do a wipe but cannot enter recovery.
I can enter fastboot via power vol- and that brings up >fastboot at bottom on screen.
fastboot reboot fastboot brings up the other fastboot with options to Reboot system now, Reboot to bootloader, Power off but reboot bootloader fails
It is a G10 bought in South Africa
Product name ROGA_sprout
Bootloader version - unknown
Secure Boot yes
Serial number PT99652AA||6040|389
Hardware version 0
in mini >fastboot mode I can see it is in slot b and can switch to slot a but slot a does not even boot
I'm running Ubuntu but could get access to windows
I'm open to anything, TWRP/CWM bootloaders, custom roms
