2019 Shield Pro 8.1.1 root? - Shield Android TV General

I just updated to 8.1.1
ATV Launcher Pro use to be default, but now its reverted back to Leanback
I tried the adb shell hide command for leanback and got an error probably because the bootloader is not unlocked/rooted
Is there a solution to root this model?

Installing BusyBox and XPosed Framework from ADB?

I have a rooted Fire TV and just upgraded to the latest firmware. Is there any way to remotely (from ADB) install BusyBox and XPosed Framework? I have to go to each Fire TV and run the apps to install these programs after a new firmware upgrade and I'd like to automate it instead. Do those apps have command line options and if so, how do I run them that way?

1st Gen Fire Tv Stick (Montoya) Blacklisted

Hi, do you guys know if it's possible to bypass amazon account login screen on a blacklisted fire tv stick?
I've managed to skip the update screen using Fire Tv Remote app but now it's stucked asking to login to an amazon account, but it fails when I try.
There is a way to maybe install a custom rom on this stick to make it usable?

Unlock it first, then disable obbe and install custom launcher.

After rooting do the following
From recovery shell
adb push ~/.android/adbkey.pub /data/misc/adb/adb_keys
adb shell settings put secure install_non_market_apps 1
adb shell settings put global adb_enabled 1
adb shell settings put global setup_wizard_has_run 1
adb shell settings put secure user_setup_complete 1
adb shell settings put global device_provisioned 1
pm disable com.amazon.tv.oobe
adb install anyTVLauncher.apk

Thanks for reply. This guide you linked is for unlocking the 4K version of the stick, mine is the 1st gen. I've take it apart and took a photo of the board. I see some difference between my board and the one present in the guide.
Can I use that guide to unlock my 1st gen stick?

No, you can't.
But your picture shows a 'tank' device (i.e. the 2gen stick), not the old 1gen montoya stick...
You can use that guide to root/unlock it. :good:

How to change the default launcher?

Today I got my brand new Realme X (chinese version) with a stock rom, so kudos to the AliExpress seller who actually cared, he only installed the Play Store but the rom is completely stock.
I downloaded Nova Launcher and tried to make it the stock launcher, but I got no "Homescreen" setting in the App Manager/Default App.
I tried to uninstall the system launcher via adb shell but I get the error failure [delete_failed_internal_error]. I can execute the adb shell, I just can't uninstall and delete che system launcher. I used the command adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.oppo.launcher but it doesn't work. How can I change the launcher?
There's at least a way to use a custom icon pack with the stock launcher?

Recent apps function not working

Hi, I just updated my Realme X2 CN version (RMX1991) from A.19 to C.12 and the recent button is not working. I was told that to bring it back, I should reinstall default launcher which I uninstalled back in ColorOS6. I tried to install launcher using code 'adb shell cmd package install-existing com.oppo.launcher' and it prompted me with 'com.oppo.launcher installed for user: 0'. How do I resolved this problem or is there an alternative solution?

Question Rm8 pro adb cmd to disable OTA?

Hey, was wondering if anyone knows if there's a way to disable OTA via adb without root (on global rom). Reason being from my understanding the stock fw on the rm 8 pro is better then the updates in terms of performance. And the prompt for updating gets annoying after awhile.
Of course, after you get the system update pckage name, you can use adb disable shell to desable it. Then you won`t get any update.
